Returning Shows Debuting March 2022 On The Home Channel Including George Clarke's Old House New Home

Room To Improve S12 NEW SEASON
Room to Improve sets out to create a diverse range of beautifully designed and cleverly built homes. In this season, master architect Dermot Bannon is ready to take on an array of properties, some with quirkier challenges than others – from pebble dash to plywood, steep embankments to faux Georgian pillars. His clients are more informed, more opinionated and more demanding than ever before, but similarly to all other years, there is only one person who they feel can make their household dreams come true. Dermot is passionate about design and will go to any lengths to persuade these homeowners to take on his ideas. He has three quantity surveyors to work with this season, all determined to keep his designs on budget. The role of the architect is sometimes designer, sometimes mediator and always perfectionist. Wherever there’s room to improve, Dermot Bannon shows no signs of slowing down, as he pushes his creativity and his passion to the limit, as always, with stunning results!

Britain has some of the most historic houses in the world; from Georgian Architecture to Victorian Art Deco, there are different architectural styles on every street. But the way houses were built years ago just doesn’t work for modern living. On Old House New Home, architect George Clarke gets under the skin of homes with history. In each episode, he’ll visit two homes and help the owners to unlock their full potential, create stylish solutions, and make them fit for 21st century living. Together they’ll make some critical choices on what to chuck and what to cherish, and teach us a thing or two about what modern styles work when you have an old house that you want to turn into a new home.
