The Scent Of Passion and Nurses are set to reach their climax in the final week of the coming month (June) with blank spaces available within that period as the channel rolls out a fresh batch of content in July.
Through a couple of sources I was able to get some details of upcoming attractions and due to confidentiality I can't give away to much but here's a list of confirmed developments for the channel:
1. Meet My Family
George Cruz is a 50 year old Hollywood screenwriter who is suffering a Midlife crisis under the shadow of his only success, the death of his mother, and his wife, Leticia, cheating on him. His frustration, loneliness, and feeling like a failure take him to Mexico where he meets Carmen Jurado, a Mexican singer that turns into his muse, artist, and great love. George regains his inspiration and happiness that make him feel alive.
Replaces Nurses from 4 July at 9pm CAT
2. The Legend - still awaiting confirmation but its likely Malverde: The Patron Saint
If the rumours are true for Malverde, then this would be the first biographical drama to make way to the channel. As mentioned before, the series follow a young man from Sinaloa, Mexico that became a legendary figure and defender of the people. Malverde had a troubled childhood as an orphan where he experienced the trials of war, danger and love as he amassed unexpected power. Over time, he becomes a Robin Hood-like heroic figure, admired by women of all social classes.
Based on the nature of the show, it will likely be kept in the late night slots.
Replaces The Scent Of Passion from 4 July at 10pm
3. Case Closed
The series went on production break with old episodes being used as a plot filler to introduce new content. At the moment, there's no definitive date for the program but it's suspected to return in the 8pm slot.
4. Nurses Season 2
The channel is currently on the second season which was folded under the first as the two main cast members Diana Hoyos and Sebastián Carvajal known for their roles as María Clara González and Carlos Pérez depart the series.
According to sources, the second season might arrive by the fall of 2022 or early 2023.
Development Hell
This consists of a list of events that were set occur but details of their status remain unknown.
1. Preso No. 1 (Prisoner No. 1)
When Mexico's president lands in jail following a false accusation, the controversy spurs an arduous fight for freedom and justice in a corrupt country.
2. Camelia La Texana
It tells the story of Emilio and Camelia La Tejana, who cross the border into the U.S. through Tijuana in a car with tires filled with hierba mala — marijuana. Once they get to Los Angeles, Emilio tells Camelia he's leaving her for his true love. Camelia didn't take this well: She shot him seven times and disappeared with the money.
3. Biographies
Mariposa and Jose Jose are some of the few series which were meant for release on the channel. Unlike most shows, these ones were set to get less airtime.
4. Short Series
Before the channel went 7 days like Zee World, the original plan was to introduce a programming block on weekends for shows like La Voz (The Voice), Luis Miguel: La Serie (Luis Miguel: The Series) and El Secreto De Selena (The Secret Of Selena).
