Star Life is set to rollout new series titled Sacred Love from 2nd May replacing My Desire. Known in India as Iss Ishq Ka…Rabb Rabka, the Hindi drama series stars Sonakshi Batra as Meghla, Fahmaan Khan as Ranbir, Shreya Jain as Adrija and Shalini Kapoor as Purnima.

Synopsis for Sacred Love

Ranbir is deeply rooted in his Punjabi traditions and lives with his loud, fun-loving family. He’s passionate and impulsive, with a heart that beats for his loved ones. Meghla, on the other hand, hails from a disciplined Bengali household. She is gentle, educated, and values respect and decorum. Their first meeting is filled with misunderstandings, but as time goes on, they develop feelings for each other.

As their love grows stronger, the real challenge begins when they decide to introduce each other to their respective families. Ranbir’s family is skeptical of Meghla’s background, while Meghla’s parents are conservative and critical of Ranbir’s boisterous nature and Punjabi lifestyle. Both families struggle to come to terms with the cultural differences.

The show delves into the emotional journey of the two lovers as they navigate through prejudices, ego clashes, and societal expectations. The contrast in food, language, festivals, and values becomes a central conflict, but so does the question of whether love is strong enough to bridge two culturally diverse families.

Sacred Love was broadcast on Hindi station StarPlus last year and has since produced over 200 half hour episodes. With African audiences set to watch all the drama unfold from 2nd May.

Star Life To Debut New Series "Advocate Anjali Awasthi" In December

The show is produced by Blues Productions with audiences treated with the first glimpse, which showcases the journey of Advocate Anjali Awasthi, who wants to be a successful lawyer but must tackle challenges and difficulties that stand in the way of achieving her aspirations.

The audience will also witness Anjali's grit and spirit and determination to fight against injustice in order to mend her family's tarnished image. In her first case, Advocate Anjali Awasthi, a struggling advocate who evolves into a legal genius while restoring her father's disgrace, takes on a powerful and extremely corrupt lawyer.

Advocate Anjali Awasthi is a strong and fearless character; she craves recognition for her genius, and this will surely compel the audience to root for her cause—justice for the downtrodden. Ankit Raizada will be seen portraying the character of Aman Singh Rajpoot in the show Advocate Anjali Awasthi along with Shritama Mitra.

Ankit's portrayal of the vibrant and free-spirited Aman Singh Rajpoot is definitely going to win the hearts of the viewers.

His positive outlook, dedication to family, and romantic side—his ability to bring warmth and affection into his relationships—are traits that resonate with me personally. The romantic aspects of Aman’s character, such as his genuine love and care for his partner, reflect values and emotions I also connect with. While his experiences are unique to the show, the essence of Aman's character and his approach to love and relationships mirror aspects of my own life."

Advocate Anjali Awasthi is expected to air on Star Life from 18 December.

Saras & Kumud, Formerly Seen On Defunct TV Station Glow TV Premieres On Star Life This November

After eMedia Investments and StarTimes ended their agreements for Glow TV with the channel having no others of continuation ended its run in South Africa. This led to People's Planet picking up shows like The Get Real Talk Show With Denver Naicker and Star Life scooping up Forbidden Love.

Since the channel's demise in 2023, Glow TV's parent company Nismedia is looking to take legal action against eMedia Investments for its removal on Openview. Similar to eMedia's ongoing carriage feud with MultiChoice for the 4 e.tv channels, Glow TV's demise stemmed outrage from viewers.

While there's no update on when or if Nismedia is still looking to seek restitution more of its content however is beginning to resurface on other platforms with Saraswatichandra now slated to debut on Star Life as Saras And Kumud.

Young aristocrat Saraswatichandra Laxminandan Vyas, also known as Saras, who lives in Dubai is introverted due to his mother’s suicide and rejects an arranged marriage by his father with his friend Vidyachatur Desai’s daughter Kumud, informing her by letter. She challenges him to inform her father and so Saras travels to her village named Ratnanagri in Ahmedabad district, Gujarat, India, gains familiarity with her family and gradually falls in love with her.

Based on the novel of the same name, Soulmates premiered on StarPlus from 25 February 2023 and concluded on 20 September 2014 with 403 half hour episodes produced. It starred Jennifer Winget as Kumud Desai Vyas and Gautam Rode as Saraswatichandra "Saras" Vyas.

Saras & Kumud will be airing daily on Star Life from 5 November 2024 replacing Imlie in the 20:30 timeslot.

Developing Story: A Rebroadcast Of Family Secrets Launches On Star Life With Evil Affairs Rebroadcasts Scrapped Due To Timeslot Changes

Sometime ago, it was revealed that You Have My Heart would be moving to 22:30 once Soulmates debuts on Star Life but it turns out to not be the case. With You Have My Heart that will instead air 22:00 where the controversial supernatural drama Evil Affairs currently resides as it moves to 23:00.

Due to some themes illustrated on Evil Affairs, Star Life was forced to pull the series from daytime and restricted its broadcast to late nights as seen with Telemundo's Super Series. This affected former series Beyond Love that shared a portion of its timeslot to get the same restriction.

Consumers took their socials to express their dissatisfaction and pleaded to reinstate Evil Affairs daytime repeats. Due to restrictions, the channel was only able to offer Evil Affairs in the later hours of the night were there's less viewers with repeats allocated at 00:30.

With Soulmates rolling out in the coming weeks, daily rebroadcasts of Bitter Sweet Love will now take up Evil Affairs repeats at 00:30 as the supernatural show airs an hour later at 23:00 from 20 August. Similar to the endeavors occurred a few months ago Evil Affairs has only 1 timeslot meaning no repeats.

In other developments, Titli will be coming to an end and drama bomb a rebroadcast of Family Secrets replaces it once it ends. Instead of Evil Affairs, they'd rather give a rebroadcast a much earlier timeslot as opposed to grouping the primetime altogether with repeats in the other corner.

Family Secrets is a story of a seventeen-year-old Anami, who was abandoned at birth and adopted by a pandit family in Banaras. She returns to her mother as the sole yet reluctant heir to a royal family in Laal Mahal, Bihar where she faces secrets and scandals in the family.

Developing Story: Udne Ki Aasha Debuts On Star Life As Soulmates In The Coming Weeks, You Have My Heart Changes Timeslots

Earlier in the month, it was reported that a former soap opera Saraswatichandra would be rolling out on Star Life this wad due to some details pertaining to the show. In new developments, it turns out that Udne Ki Aasha will actually be the series entering the channel under the title, Soulmates.

Not only that but one of the channel's existing shows You Have My Heart seems to changing timeslots as well with the show now slated for 22:30. It will be replacing Titli another series which was also seen in its timeslot before getting brushed off to a much later timeslot for some reason.

Soulmates showcase the story of violent taxi driver Sachin who is good at heart but is uneducated. On the other side destiny gets him married to florist Sailee who belongs to poor middle class family. Sachin’s father Paresh likes Sailee as lot and hence wanted her to marry Tejas.

It starred Pari Bhatti as Juhi, Mamta as Negative Friend, Manish Verma as Creative Director, Rohit Gill as
Police Inspector, Tanya Lal as Young mother, Neha Harsora as Sailee, Kanwar Dhillon as Sachin and Bharat Jethwani as Mangesh.

Soulmates airs daily at 21:30 on Star Life from August 20 replacing You Have My Heart when it's airs an hour later at 22:30 with Titli that would have concluded. Other Indian dramas set to rollout in the month include Betrayal on Zee World and The Pain Of Loving You on Zee One

Recap To Last Month: Don't Expect Any Daytime Repeats For The Controversial "Evil Affairs" On Star Life As Titli Moves To Late Nights

Star Life is a general entertainment channel operated by Disney Star, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company in India. It is home to various English dubbed productions from India including Game Of Love, Anupamaa, Imlie and Divya-Drishti.

Last month, Star Life made the dastardly deed of halting daytime repeats of Evil Affairs and Beyond Love. This had caused an uproar of angry viewers demanding for them to be reinstated with the channel only opting to move further repeats to late nights.

As some readers are aware, Beyond Love will be replaced by Titli as reported earlier as You Have My Heart debuts at 21:30 from 8 June. Unlike the fallen Beyond Love, Titli will also have a daytime slot at 13:30 meaning Evil Affairs will be isolated from the offering.

Fans have been hindered with curiosity over the channel's sudden decision not to incorporate Evil Affairs as it brought on dramas like Divya-Drishti and The Evil Eye all of which were made available for daytime audiences.

Unlike the latter, Evil Affairs can be compared to the likes of the FOX original Lucifer formerly seen on M-Net. Due to religious preferences, viewers aren't accustomed to the level of Satanism depicted this is what led M-Net to move Lucifer from 19:00 to 23:00.

Beyond Love was victimized in the Evil Affairs saga with daytime broadcasts still possible as the channel needed to organize their current but this came when it was already too late.

"Trouble In Bollywood": You Have My Heart Rolls Out On Star Life From June 8th, Titli's Future Remains Uncertain

During the month, Star Life made the dastardly deed of halting daytime repeats of Evil Affairs and Beyond Love. This had caused an uproar of angry viewers demanding for them to be reinstated with Star Life only opting to move further repeats to late nights.

Now it looks the channel will be embroiled in more drama in the coming days as a new titled You Have My Heart is slated for June 8th. The only problem would be the timeslot allocation as it takes up 21:30 where Titli's is currently residing.

Various consumers are concerned that Titli could suffer a similar fate as Beyond Love. As some readers are aware, Beyond Love has several seasons fully develop and Star Life is ending its journey with only 1 season currently and not airing back to back.

Titli will end with only 71 episodes having being aired on the 21:30 timeslot. There were rumours that the nature of the show had to do with its demise and although that's not proven we presume Titli could replace Beyond Love as opposed to Lost In Love.

Let's analyze the facts here, Star Life had promised to air repeats of Evil Affairs in late nights but programme guide shows no such thing. Then there's You Have My Heart, Star Life didn't have any new show slated on that day as Titli is still listed.

Based on the Malayalam drama series Karuthamuthu, You Have My Heart (Anurager Chhowa) follows an ordinary girl and a doctor who fall in love as they discover each other's real beauty despite facing various trials and tribulations.

It starred Dibyojyoti Dutta as Dr. Surjo Sengupta, Swastika Ghosh as Deepanwita "Deepa" Majumdar, Ritu Pyne as Dr. Ira Sengupta, Arjun Chakrabarty as Dr. Arjun Chakrabarty, Sristi Majumdar as Rupa Sengupta and Mishita Roy Chowdhury as Shona Sengupta.

Development Alert: Star Plus Undergoes Timeslot Changes In Africa With Maati Se Bandhi Dor Added To The Lineup, Telecast Of Lost In Love Replaces Beyond Love On Star Life

Star Plus is a general entertainment channel that distribute Bollywood based films and series part of which are made available to Star Life. The parent company Disney Star also operate Star Bharat, Star Select, Star Gold and Vijay TV in the region.

During the week, the channel had made several schedule adjustments to their existing offering with Pandya Store (a long awaited show for Star Life) aired its last episode on Sunday night. This would be replaced by another original show Maati Se Bandhi Dor.

Maati Se Bandhi Dor follows a hard-working Vaiju who labours in the fields to support her family and village, but she finds her life facing an unexpected challenge when Rannvijay dismisses her as a potential wife. Ankit Gupta and Rutuja Bagwe star as the lead characters.

Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin moved from 20:00 to 19:30 with Udne Ki Aasha moved from 18:30 to 20:15 both of which run for 45 minutes. The latter Anupama and Yeh Hai Chahatein remain intact in their current timeslots at 21:00 and 22:00.

Other shows offered on the channel include Chhoo Kar Mere Mann Ko at 11:30, Grihapravesh - Ek Nayi Shuruwat at 12:00 and Kasme Vaade at 15:00.

In other developments, the first season of Beyond Love concludes on Star Life by June 7th following a troublesome rollout on the channel due to Evil Affairs. Both had lost daytime slots and had no repeat slots throughout the night which led to an onslaught of complaints.

According to the programme guide, Beyond Love will be replaced by a current telecast of Lost In Love which kind of begs the question. Could this have anything to do with the controversies surrounding Evil Affairs?

Development Alert (Rumour): Star Life Reinstates Daytime Repeats Of Evil Affairs And Beyond Love, Moves Rebroadcasts Of My Identity, Game Of Love And The Evil Eye To Late Nights

During the week, it was reported that Star Life would be adding repeat slots to their late night shows, Beyond Love and Evil Affairs. After one of the two were embroiled in ongoing complaints from viewers about the visuals and themes in the shows.

The idea was to keep the uncensored entertainment in the night which was met with backlash from various viewers. As some could only catchup with daytime repeats and the decision to remove these shows only led to a decline in viewers.

Star Life opted to give these shows additional slots in the night but the times were so horrendous. Viewership for any TV channel is usually much lower in the timeslots of Evil Affairs and Beyond Love but the channel opted to worsen it by repeating them by 1am.

Viewers were once again outraged by the decision and took to Facebook and Instagram to post their displeasure with the channel.

Now it looks like Star Life will backing off in restricting these shows as an updated programme guide for next month sees Evil Affairs and Beyond Love getting their daytime slots back. So the question will there be censorship we'll have to wait and see.

But that's not the only change the channel could be making by next month. There's still no official word on any of these developments but from what we can see rebroadcasts of Game Of Love, My Identity and The Evil Eye move to the 3am to 5am timeslot.

Similar to Evil Affairs and Beyond Love, these shows will no longer have repeats outside of these timeslots. As mentioned while Beyond Love and Evil Affairs get their timeslots back, Jhanak and String Of Love replace The Evil Eye at 11pm with Anupama at 5pm.
On the upside, viewers get Beyond Love and Evil Affairs daytime repeats and on the other any chance to relive nostalgic moments had gone down the drain.

Repeats Are Back!!! Evil Affairs And Beyond Love Get Extended Airtime On Star Life With A Twist

During the month, Star Life halted repeat broadcasts of Evil Affairs due to several complaints about its themes and depiction of Hinduism. This had also affected their other show Beyond Love as it shares the 10pm slot with Evil Affairs.

This news was met with mostly negative feedback from consumers as some could only keep up with daytime repeats. As some consumers had been forced to miss a week worth of Beyond Love and Evil Affairs.

Based on consumer feedback at the time, Star Life had stated they would work on finding a solution to the broadcasts. As seen moments ago, the channel opted to rather keep these shows on late nights but opted to reshuffle its lineup in those hours.
Repeats of Imlie were currently reserved at 1:30am and this was followed by Anupama at 2am. This portion will be phased out for Evil Affairs and Beyond Love with no word on when exactly when these changes will be applied.

Judging by the timeslots and the scheduling, we presume more shows could be affected by these changes or its repeats slots e.g. The Evil Eye and Game Of Love. Beyond Love and Evil Affairs were grouped together and all of a sudden that's not the case here.

"The Mighty Have Fallen": Beyond Love Will Also Lose Daytime Repeats With Evil Affairs As Game Of Love And The Evil Eye Take Center Stage From May 6th On Star Life

Last month, it was reported that Evil Affairs will no longer get daytime repeats and zero mentions by the channel. This comes due to onslaught of complaints from several consumers about the show's dark nature and depiction of religious norms and values.

At the time of publishing, not much was known about how Star Life will fill up the timeslot for Evil Affairs or the rippling effect it would have to its other shows. But through an updated programme guide we've got to see the harsh realities of these changes.

From May 6th, Evil Affairs will only air daily at 22:00 with repeats of Game Of Love at 09:00 followed by The Evil Eye at 13:00. The channel had failed to mention Beyond Love had been caught in the crossfire as it too will be losing daytime repeats.

From our understanding, Star Life's schedule follows a particular format ABC-123 and breaking that would cause disruption. Seeing as Game Of Love And The Evil Eye didn't get that much airtime in its current state slotting them in minimized the problem.

Instead of Beyond Love getting double bill repeats the channel probably wants to give all their other shows a fair amount of airtime. Of course, the decision to remove Beyond Love and Evil Affairs from the daytime had only stirred up criticism amongst consumers.

Some are led to wonder if more censorship could be instilled from this point on. If StarPlus had a another program like Evil Affairs it could be excluded another instance is that Star Life follows Telemundo and makes 22:00 their "Super Series" slot.

But then there comes issues with Star Life in this matter, Telemundo is willing to repeat these shows throughout the night until no later than 5am. Star Life to make 15 shows look bloated at this point offers zero repeats for the affected shows in the night.

It's more of a you snooze you lose type of scenario here as some consumers would probably have to wait a couple of months or years for a rebroadcast of Beyond Love. Unlike Evil Affairs, it is more of a victim and that is due to its current timeslot.

Notes

• Evil Affairs airs daily at 22:00 followed by Beyond Love at 22:30 from May 6th.
• Repeats of Game Of Love airs daily at 09:00 and The Evil Eye at 13:00 also from May 6th.
• The schedule remains the same for other shows.

Development Alert: By Public Demand, Star Life Will No Longer Air Daytime Repeats Of Evil Affairs

During the week, it was reported that Star Life will be rolling out a new series Jhanak replacing Faltu once it comes to an end in May. But that's not the only surprise set to hit viewer's screens later in the month as another deals with their current show, Evil Affairs.

The supernatural drama alongside Beyond Love debuted earlier in the month replacing Divya-Drishti. It was met with an onslaught of complaints from viewers about its dark themes and depiction of Hinduism with some viewing it as scary.

Last minute notice, the channel published on their Facebook page plans to halt daytime repeats of Evil Affairs. Not only that further alienate it from other shows in terms of promos meaning consumers can only enjoy at 22:00 and possibly anytime in the night.

👻📺 Big news! You shared, we heard! Starting TOMORROW, "Evil Affairs" won't haunt your daytime screens anymore. No...

Posted by Star Life Africa on Tuesday, April 30, 2024
It also means that consumers who had been catching up to Evil Affairs in the daytime will miss out meaning the show would have lost an audience and also not much advertising would be expected for that show as the audience would be limited.

Since then consumers have gone to the page to express their displeasure with the decision including:

Faith Choolwe Maambo who said some of us we only manage to watch evil affairs during the day why removing it Star Life Africa watching it at night is very scary

Lesego Lesh Gaitsiwe who said some of us work night shifts nd the only time we got is during the day star life nonono

Euphemia Mwema who said now what is going to be airing on the time of their repeat??this is not fair for us who don’t manage watching at night we prefer watching repeats so please spare us and we are tired of ANUPAMA,My Desire and Lost in Love.🙏And that 30 minutes or 25 is too little

Several consumers had since then asked the channel what program will occupy the repeat slot at the time of publishing. From what we can presume, Beyond Love could as well air double repeats or the existing lineup could take up its timeslot.

But the channel also lagging around 15 shows as seen with sister channels StarPlus and Star Bharat. Competitive channels Zee World is following a similar route in terms of content by focusing more on fresher releases.

New Series Alert: Jhanak Coming This May To Star Life

Star Life, a general entertainment channel operated by Disney Star that is home to various Bollywood drama series and movies all of which are dubbed in English is set to rollout another series in the coming months titled Jhanak.

Jhanak follows the titular character as she faces many challenges and obstacles in her life due to her poor background, but she never gives up on her passion. She meets Anirudh, who offers her support and encouragement, but fate separates them.

It stars Hiba Nawab as Jhanak Raina, Krushal Ahuja as Aniruddha Bose, Chandni Sharma as Arshi Mukherjee, Dolly Sohi as Srishti Mukherjee, Sachin Verma as Shubh Basu and Kajal Pisal as Tanuja Basu.

The Hindi drama debuted on November 20, 2023 on StarPlus and 80 episodes have reportedly been filmed. It was met with a lot of praise by viewers and even surpassed the rankings of Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin better known as Lost In Life.

Jhanak will air daily at 18:00 CAT from 24 May replacing Faltu which comes to a close days prior. Zee One is also slated to air a new show titled Never Late For Love in the month.

New Series Alert: Evil Affairs And Beyond Love Coming This April To Star Life

With Divya-Drishti's journey set to come to a close in April, Star Life was originally scheduled to air a repeat broadcast of The Evil Eye in its weeknight timeslot at 22:00 with Game Of Love taking up the 23:00 timeslot for the supernatural drama.

But as seen through several platforms later in the week, Star Life will be allocating two new shows to the lineup, Evil Affairs and Beyond Love. These series will be split within a 1 hour timeslot therefore increasing primetime on the channel from 13 to 15 series.
