DreamWorks, Telemundo, CNBC, MSNBC, Universal TV And Studio Universal May Have To Undergo A Name Change Under Comcast's Spun Off Company

As some readers are aware, NBCUniversal similar to Disney is looking to reducing its linear portfolio in the coming years with NBC, Telemundo and Bravo being what's left of the company alongside Peacock. As E!, CNBC, MSNBC and Universal TV are all being spun off under a separate company which will be financed by few shareholders at Comcast.

MultiChoice currently supplies channels like Universal TV, E!, Telemundo, Studio Universal, DreamWorks, CNBC and MSNBC from NBCUniversal. With this separation, these channels will look unrecognizable in the coming years not only by what it chooses to air but also by name.

Comcast plans to retain the studios used to produce the content viewed by these channels and if we're reading between the lines E! won't own The Real Housewives as much as DreamWorks won't own Shrek. Yes, it's likely that when this spinoff occurs they'll try to retain as much of their former selfs but overtime it will change.

Considering these aren't members of Comcast, what is likely to transpire now is that the latter will have to undergo a name change or close altogether. This is what happened when Disney acquired FOX it had to remove the FOX trademark from various properties while it's linear channels either closed or rebranded to FX/Star.

It will be interesting to see what identity these channels take up once this whole ordeal unfolds by 2025 as Comcast holds the NBC, Telemundo and Universal trademarks. What I imagine them doing particularly with Telemundo is dissolving the brand as SpinCo doesn't own the content and is likely to prioritize on their "more broader channels".

DreamWorks, another TV channel like Telemundo is the broader channel and SpinCo could try to capitalise on its success. NBCUniversal has always been a local when it comes to its linear portfolio, internationally this was also spearheaded by what is known as SpinCo but this time it has do it without these studios in its pocket.

Star Life To Debut New Series "Advocate Anjali Awasthi" In December

The show is produced by Blues Productions with audiences treated with the first glimpse, which showcases the journey of Advocate Anjali Awasthi, who wants to be a successful lawyer but must tackle challenges and difficulties that stand in the way of achieving her aspirations.

The audience will also witness Anjali's grit and spirit and determination to fight against injustice in order to mend her family's tarnished image. In her first case, Advocate Anjali Awasthi, a struggling advocate who evolves into a legal genius while restoring her father's disgrace, takes on a powerful and extremely corrupt lawyer.

Advocate Anjali Awasthi is a strong and fearless character; she craves recognition for her genius, and this will surely compel the audience to root for her cause—justice for the downtrodden. Ankit Raizada will be seen portraying the character of Aman Singh Rajpoot in the show Advocate Anjali Awasthi along with Shritama Mitra.

Ankit's portrayal of the vibrant and free-spirited Aman Singh Rajpoot is definitely going to win the hearts of the viewers.

His positive outlook, dedication to family, and romantic side—his ability to bring warmth and affection into his relationships—are traits that resonate with me personally. The romantic aspects of Aman’s character, such as his genuine love and care for his partner, reflect values and emotions I also connect with. While his experiences are unique to the show, the essence of Aman's character and his approach to love and relationships mirror aspects of my own life."

Advocate Anjali Awasthi is expected to air on Star Life from 18 December.

"A Channel First": ePlesier Launches Die Agentskap In December

In the coming weeks, primetime will be further reduced on eExtra plans to offer a rebroadcast of Vierspel Vuurspel in place of Net 20 Minute. In surprising developments, Die Agentskap which is currently streaming on eVOD will be heading to ePlesier basically a repeats channel in December.

Now the issue with ePlesier's current structure is that with it being revolved solely on repeats a majority of consumers are likely avoiding the channel. The ones that choose to view the channel are either catching up on primetime repeats with another portion that may be interested in the content.

The final season of Die Put is currently airing on the channel and later this same season will likely surface on e.tv which begs the question why does ePlesier even exist. It is understandable on MultiChoice's part as they cater for different products but with eMedia Investments it's basically the same consumers.

Even with ePlesier's presence, e.tv still accomodates for eExtra as opposed to winding down on those affairs to cater for let's say uMbali and Housewives as those shows have yet to be made available on their platform. They had attempted it on Sunday movie nights and it was an absolute mess leading them to reinstate movies at 8PM.

Honestly this whole structure between e.tv, eExtra and ePlesier is just a mess I mean with MultiChoice pivoting for Showmax maybe eMedia Investments could do the same with eVOD in this scenario. Perhaps merge ePlesier and eExtra into one channel and get all the Bollywood and Asian dramas on eSeries if not a separate channel.

As for Die Agentskap it will be allocated at 12PM from 12 December which begs the question how many people will be tuning in or even notice it when it comes on. eMedia Investments was been trying to minimise rivalry amongst their stations and if I had to guess when they'll repeat this by 4PM/11PM.

eExtra is also available on DStv meaning more exposure and advertising income so why leave consumers with a 4 year old repeat. Some consumers have asked if eMedia Investments is planning to accommodate these consumers and I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

eExtra is already airing simultaneous broadcasts of Annekan Die Swa Kry and Kelders Van Gehieme from e.tv so why not Die Agentskap from ePlesier. By that time in which Die Agentskap is seen consumers are being fed with Deur Dik En Dun and Net 20 Minute (more repeats) and with the channel's 24 hour lineup they could try squeezing it in.

Some info regarding Die Agentskap

News Shorts: A Rebroadcast Of eKasi: Our Stories Replaces Current Affairs On e.tv As The Latter Moves Back To Late Nights, Play Room Lands In Gotham City With The Batwheels And TLNovelas Africa Is Now Slated To Air Cancelled Soap Shadows Of The Past

e.tv hits a new low with a rebroadcast of eKasi: Our Stories

In a not so surprising move by the broadcaster, The Last Word With Shahan Ramkissoon, Devi and Checkpoint will now air 2 hours later at 22:30 as primetime is set to be bombarded with repeats of eKasi: Our Stories. We can only assume similar to Isiphetho: Destiny even the 20:30 slot is a danger zone.

By this time, Uzalo is broadcast on SABC 1 and seeing as e.tv and SABC 1 are targeting the same viewers you can only assume that a majority have a preference to long form soaps. Unlike Isiphetho: Destiny, these shows were commissioned by eNCA so there's a strong chance it will remain on the air.

But with the number of times they've changed their schedule I wouldn't be shocked if e.tv scrapped current affairs from weekdays as they've got these batch of shows like uMbali and Splintered Pieces on eVOD. None of which have yet to be added on eMedia's linear platforms and e.tv has already seen constraints in their schedule.

Batwheels expands to DStv Access

Produced by Warner Bros Animation, the series follows a group of sentient super-powered crime-fighting vehicles defending Gotham City alongside a host of DC superheroes. Brought to life by the Batcomputer to help defend Gotham City, the heroic Batwheels are thrust into hilarious hijinks and jaw-dropping action while learning important life lessons.

Led by Bam the Batmobile, the Batwheels must navigate the challenges of being a newly formed super team as well as the growing pains that come with just being a kid. The relatable and aspirational series follows the team’s journey as they thrill and entertain with their heroic adventures, as well as demonstrate to preschool kids the value of self-confidence, friendship and teamwork.

After being made available on Cartoonito by March 2023, Play Room had acquired rights to superhero themed preschool series following its rollout on Netflix in September. The series is slated to air from 1st November at 18:15 and it's rollout on the channel coincides with Cartoon Network as they will be celebrating Teen Titans GO! 400th episode milestone with a bunch of DC themed content.

Shadows Of The Past now slated to rollout on TLNovelas

After failing to rollout on the channel earlier in the year, TLNovelas is now slated to include the former FOX soap Shadow Of The Past by December replacing the current rebroadcast of Timeless Love. Similar to Telemundo, it appears primetime is now being revived as the latter gripped to 1 timeslot.

Based on 2001 telenovela El Manantial, it follows Two very different families live in the village of Santa Lucía who are involved in a whirlwind of passion, pain, and revenge. From those opposite sides, Aldonza and Cristóbal meet and a bond that will face hurdles is formed.

Michelle Renaud and Pablo Lyle stars as the protagonists, while Alexis Ayala and Alejandra Barros stars as the antagonists. There is a special participation of Susana González and René Strickler, with Alfredo Adame, Cynthia Klitbo and Manuel "Flaco" Ibáñez.

eMedia Updates: Isiphetho: The Destiny Cancelled After It's Current Season On e.tv With Rebroadcasts Of Vierspel Vuurspel And Ramo Rolling Out In The Coming Months On eExtra

Isiphetho The Destiny is a South African based drama series that follows the intertwined lives of four estranged friends who were bound by a life-changing secret during their teenage years. Now in their 30s, they find themselves drawn back to their old neighbourhood, determined to chase their true destinies.

In a bid to revitalise their community and rewrite their futures, the foursome embark on an exciting new venture: an innovative restaurant aimed at bringing unique culinary delights to the township. But at every turn on their journey to self-determination, their past and enemies threaten to thwart their dreams.

According to sources, eMedia Investments had decided to end the show by April 2025 meaning Isiphetho: Destiny will not be returning with a second season. It joins the long line of failed attempts to have broadcast on that timeslot including Nikiwe, Isipho and Durban Gen.

More series lows with a rebroadcast of Vierspel Vuurspel and Ramo

After debuting on eExtra last year, a rebroadcast of Ramo is scheduled to broadcast on e.tv from 18 November replacing Hart Van Goud with Vierspel Vuurspel replacing Net 20 Minute on eExtra. So I think the question is why a 6 month long repeat on eExtra and not another import from eVOD.

We're presuming since the year is almost up that eMedia Investments is pausing primetime but out of all shows why not Kurt En Shura or Die Binnekring as they're much shorter in comparison. Maybe some behind the scenes is happening within their studios as Elif reaches its climax perhaps another surprise awaits viewers.

But in all honesty, we don't see the point of ePlesier if e.tv and eExtra already exist and are well airing the batch of repeats, you'd presume with the demise of Rewind and eVOD they'd do a better job minimising repeats. Instead these repeats are being splashed across platforms something the SABC had burdened onto their consumers.

Saras & Kumud, Formerly Seen On Defunct TV Station Glow TV Premieres On Star Life This November

After eMedia Investments and StarTimes ended their agreements for Glow TV with the channel having no others of continuation ended its run in South Africa. This led to People's Planet picking up shows like The Get Real Talk Show With Denver Naicker and Star Life scooping up Forbidden Love.

Since the channel's demise in 2023, Glow TV's parent company Nismedia is looking to take legal action against eMedia Investments for its removal on Openview. Similar to eMedia's ongoing carriage feud with MultiChoice for the 4 e.tv channels, Glow TV's demise stemmed outrage from viewers.

While there's no update on when or if Nismedia is still looking to seek restitution more of its content however is beginning to resurface on other platforms with Saraswatichandra now slated to debut on Star Life as Saras And Kumud.

Young aristocrat Saraswatichandra Laxminandan Vyas, also known as Saras, who lives in Dubai is introverted due to his mother’s suicide and rejects an arranged marriage by his father with his friend Vidyachatur Desai’s daughter Kumud, informing her by letter. She challenges him to inform her father and so Saras travels to her village named Ratnanagri in Ahmedabad district, Gujarat, India, gains familiarity with her family and gradually falls in love with her.

Based on the novel of the same name, Soulmates premiered on StarPlus from 25 February 2023 and concluded on 20 September 2014 with 403 half hour episodes produced. It starred Jennifer Winget as Kumud Desai Vyas and Gautam Rode as Saraswatichandra "Saras" Vyas.

Saras & Kumud will be airing daily on Star Life from 5 November 2024 replacing Imlie in the 20:30 timeslot.

Zee One To Premiere A Brand New Series "Deserted" In November

The story revolves around three sisters and their mom. Tubri is a courageous girl who isn’t afraid of raising her voice against wrongdoers. Tubi’s mom faces all sorts of hurdles to protect her daughters. Her dad left them alone and married another woman. Tubri and her mom run a roadside shop to make the ends meet. Being the eldest among the trio she (Tubri) vows to do everything for the well-being of her family.

In the upcoming Bengali show, actress Sohini Banerjee of ‘Aloukik Na Loukik’ fame is playing the titular role. Senior actress Laboni Sarkar will be seen playing her reel mom. Sukanya Basu and Soume Chatterjee will be seen portraying Tubri’s two younger sisters. The show also has actress Rii Sengupta in a negative role while director Abhijit Guha will also be seen in the show.

Based on the Hindi drama Radhamma Kuthuru, Deserted better known in India as Uron Tubri was a Bengali language series that was broadcast on Zee Bangla from 28 March to 16 December 2022. Since it's inception a number of adaptations have been conceived including in Telegu, Punjabi and Kannada.

It is scheduled to air on Zee One from 3 November 2024 replacing Broken Bloodline once it comes to an end.

Despite not residing within Africa, Zee Bangla had distributed a number of titles through the market some of which had already been viewed on Zee World including Gouri, Betrayal and Ringside Rebel. Deserted serves as one of the few primetime shows on the network alongside The Pain Of Loving You and 36 Reasons.

Should eExtra Stop Airing Kelders Van Geheime And Annekan Die Swa Kry Simultaneously With e.tv?

Earlier in the year, eMedia Investments decided to offer a simultaneous broadcast of e.tv's Annekan Die Swa Kry on eExtra and this was before Kelders Van Geheime was introduced as a rivalled offering to the now axed 7de Laan on SABC 2. The broadcaster hadn't been upfront with the media or even fans on this development.

But from what we've hypothesised from months back is that eExtra is undergoing a similar route as e.tv in 2021/2. Before rivalling with SABC 1 and Mzansi Magic, e.tv was more skewed toward audiences of M-Net and SABC 3 now all of this had been reverted to eReality and eSeries on Openview.

Local is lekker as the saying goes it draws in people and these efforts seen on Openview despite their successes overseas often draw a fraction of House Of Zwide or Muvhango's audience.

It's likely they're trying to do this with eExtra cause as we've seen more Afrikaans content in recent months with Sommerdahl Moorde and Die Fakuliteit. But what some have continued asking the network continuously is why Annekan and now Kelders Van Gehieme are on eExtra at the same time as e.tv.

If I had guess eMedia Investments wants people that tune into Kuiertyd or eExtra to watch these shows when they come on through e.tv and they don't want to create competition amongst their brands. This would even include viewers of Naagin or Forbidden Passions aka Pasión Prohibida.

To put it in better terms, eExtra turns off during this time to appease the masses of e.tv but I don't see the sense in having these shows air on two channels simultaneously. When MultiChoice does it with Mzansi Magic and Mzansi Wethu that is because some of your audience can't view one of the two.

But in this case, a portion of eExtra's consumers are e.tv meaning there's no way anyone can be missing out on these shows. It would be understandable if you were looking at it from a DStv perspective, they have various packages and each would have its own set of content for certain consumers.

I think what eMedia Investments could have done execution wise was have Kelders Van Gehieme and Annekan Die Swa Kry broadcasts on eExtra and rather make e.tv second fiddle. Right now, there's a lot of collision between these channels and I do feel part of this needs to assessed to some capacity.

Kelders Van Gehieme would retain its 18:00 timeslot on e.tv but rather have this convert into a repeat timeslot with 17:00 also becoming a slope for eExtra's repeats. Perhaps try to increase consumers dependency on ePlesier by making them accomodate e.tv's daytime repeats as a means to drive sales of Openview.

Development Alert: Blink Kant Bo And Op Dun Ys Swap Timeslots On eExtra

During the day, eMedia Investments had took to Kuiertyd's social pages to announce that eExtra's newest addition Op Dun Ys alongside Blink Kant Bo would be exchanging timeslots from 21 October. This means Op Dun Ys will broadcast at 20:30 while Blink Kant Bo will be airing an hour early at 19:30.

eMedia Investments have evaded from several questions on why the sudden change in slots for these shows but most of the blame is suggested to be pinned on newcomer Op Dun Ys. As some have been made aware, Op Dun Ys is the first show from the channel to not offer any subtitles which had caused division amongst consumers.

Insiders are saying the move to 20:30 was sort of a way to ease the tension as Blink Kant Bo airs an hour early at 19:30. Various consumers are upset about the move as some would watch Scandal or Uzalo around these times now find themselves at a crossroads while others were able to tune into these shows in their respective slots.

Not everyone can catch-up with last nights episodes of Blink Kant Bo on eVOD or e.tv which is where it's primetime slot stood at on eExtra. Same goes for Op Dun Ys which follows the route of Star Life's controversial Evil Affairs with primetime now at 20:30 and repeats daily at 2am and weekends at 7am.

Funny thing about this is that Net 20 Minute has more airtime on the channel than Op Dun Ys which goes to show you how much they're trying to restrict its broadcasts. The edgier show now has a daytime slot at 13:45 yet Voëlvry and Die Put weren't deemed appropriate for a much earlier timeslot when broadcast.

#BoycottKuiertyd: "Consumers Alarmed That eExtra Failed To Mention That Op Dun Ys Will Not Offer English Subtitles"

During the week, eExtra unveiled the Turkish drama Op Dun Ys known in Turkey as Sadakatsiz which followed the life of Asli after her world turns upside down after she catches her husband cheating on her with another woman. Interestingly enough, Telemundo is also doing a story depicting the life of a woman's fallen marriage.

But what got a lot of consumers attention was that Op Dun Ys became the first of many shows in eMedia's portfolio to not offer English subtitles. Since Kuiertyd's inception, it was usually their prime focus to include this one feature to their consumers as the majority of households hail from different backgrounds.

When Op Dun Ys was allocated on eExtra you could only guess that this matter would be receive a lot of coverage.

According to eMedia Investments, the content provider for Op Dun Ys doesn't offer subtitles hence the reason they went ahead without them but ensured fans that their other shows (including Viola) will offer subtitles. But this didn't stop consumers from taking shots at the channel for not informing them ahead of time.

Some feeling like eMedia Investments hasn't accommodated for their needs as seen with other programming demand that Op Dun Ys be stripped from the channel. While others mention suffering from a disability and Op Dun Ys despite looking like a superb series is a hit miss as subtitles was a means of inclusion.

But the reception isn't all as bad it turns out to be as some were impressed with the dialogue and the chemistry between characters I think the only question would have to boil down to the winning team.

The fact Op Dun Ys doesn't have subtitles puts the show in a precarious position as the viewer count will likely drop and eExtra would continue to offer the show if not ship it to ePlesier. Although eMedia Investments had seen a lot of growth with this offering a majority of Openview consumers are black.

That doesn't mean these consumers don't watch the content but the idea of subtitles adds diversity and makes them more inclusive. The reality is that Kuiertyd only got where it was because eMedia Investments was only able to accommodate viewers in an area SABC 2 lacked and also the incorporation of international telenovelas.

eExtra To Debut New Series "Legend Of Fuyao"

The story takes place in the universe of Five Kingdoms that is led by the Imperial City of Tianquan. Fuyao was formed from a lotus borne by the Ancient firmament. Adopted as an orphan, she served as a slave for the Xuanyuan sect from the Taiyuan Kingdom. A series of tragedies resulted in a journey across the land to gather the magical artifacts that could lift the curse that blighted her life.

Along the way, she met the Crown Prince of Tianquan who was masquerading as the heir of Taiyuan while conducting secret missions to quell unrest in the Five Kingdoms. The pair fell in love as they battled the complicated politics and power plays between the different forces. With the help of her loyal companions, Fuyao set out to unravel the heinous plot of the ancient firmament.

Based on the novel Empress Fuyao, Legend of Fuyao aired on the Chinese network Zhejiang TV from June 18 to August 13, 2018 with 66 episodes having being filmed. It starred Yang Mi as Fuyao, Ethan Juan as Zhangsun Wuji, Zhang Dongshen as Xuanyuan Ren, Hu Ke as Xuanyuan Xiao, Lai Yi as Zong Yue, Liang Yimu as Yun Hen.

Legend of Fuyao will air daily at 16:15 replacing Jeyran from Thursday 10 October with an age restriction of 18. In other developments, eExtra will be adding two new shows to their offering in the month Op Dun Ys after being uploaded on eVOD alongside Viola.

This will be the first Asian drama to have been broadcast on the channel during the year after the channel had seen its primetime offering reduced for Kuiertyd's imports. Recently, eMedia Investments had added all of their channels graphic designs to commemorate their 24 year anniversary in the market.

Canal+ Rwanda And Zacu TV Promise Fresh Entertainment With New Movies, Dubbing Hollywood Blockbusters

Since its launch in 2022 by the CANAL group, the country's leading pay TV provider, Zacu TV, a 100 per cent Kinyarwanda channel, quickly become one of the country's favourite entertainment channels, by offering a mix of locally produced movies, TV series, and international shows.

At the dawn of a new chapter with a focus on delivering high-quality content in the local language, Zacu TV on Channel 3, commits to fulfilling its foundational pledge and living up to its ambitions.

During a press conference, on Friday, September 27, as part of the back-to-school season, Cédric Pierre-Louis, the Director of Programming for African fiction channels at CANAL, announced exciting plans for Zacu TV's upcoming lineup starting from next year.

These include a variety of fresh entertainment offerings such as dubbing Hollywood blockbusters in Kinyarwanda for the first time, bringing back popular local series "Seburikoko" that have been on hiatus, and introducing new dramas and comedies.

Pierre-Louis added that "there will be something for everyone," ensuring that Zacu TV continues to cater to a larger number of Rwandans.

Among the new offerings are the comedy series "Shuwa Dilu" and the romantic drama "Kaliza wa Kalisa", which promise plenty of laughter and heartwarming chaos. Additionally, Zacu TV will co-produce musicals, including the upcoming TV series "Red Flag" and the feature movie "Fame is the Enemy", offering unforgettable and catchy songs that viewers can sing along to.

Another highlight is the introduction of dubbing. For the first time, some of the most popular Hollywood blockbusters from the last two decades will be available entirely in Kinyarwanda, courtesy of a partnership with one of Hollywood's biggest studios, Universal Studios. This move aims to make international entertainment more accessible to Rwandan audiences by presenting it in their native language.

He noted: "The combination of original stories from our slate of upcoming local productions and an outstanding roster of premium Hollywood blockbusters will bring endless entertainment to our viewers in 2025."

A golden opportunity for young talent

In 2025, Zacu TV aims to push the boundaries further by nurturing young filmmakers and exploring new genres, creating a golden opportunity for youth involvement.

Wilson Misago, the Director of Production and Acquisition for Zacu TV, explained that the channel is committed to providing a platform for Rwandan youth to tell their own stories, showcase their creativity and sleep not on their talents.

Among the new productions are "Hurts Harder" and "Red Flag", both TV series that explore the love stories, challenges, and dreams of Rwandan youth.

"We have so far employed more than 300 people, with plans to increase that number to up to 1,000. We're here to nurture young talents. However, they should seize this opportunity responsibly and not act in one movie and suddenly believe they are a star. That perspective cut short many talents. They need to stay focused on their goals," he said.

Yves Mizero, the director and producer of Hurts Harder, describes the movie as a story about Kate, a 27-year-old who never had a successful relationship but still believes in true love.

She meets Tate, a 28-year-old Ugandan, through an online platform, and after two years of communication, suggests they meet in person. Unwilling to meet in person, Tate hires another man to pose as himself, leading to a complex situation when Kate uncovers the truth, leaving her emotionally disappointed once again.

"This is a golden opportunity for young people to showcase their creativity and make a contribution in the Rwandan entertainment industry," said Mizero urging aspiring filmmakers to seize the opportunity provided by Zacu TV to tell local authentic stories that feed Rwandan audiences.

Introducing musicals to Rwandan cinema

Musicals are another genre that has yet to be fully explored in Rwandan cinema, but Zacu TV is set to change that. The TV series "Red Flag" and the feature film "Fame is the Enemy", starring popular musician Juno Kizigenza, will lead this exciting chapter into musical storytelling. These projects will feature original music and choreography that bring a fresh dimension to local entertainment.

Zacu TV continues to support Rwandan talent through its subsidiary studio, Zacu Entertainment. The company has built strong relationships with some of the country's most celebrated actors, including Gratien Niyitegeka, Longin Irunga, and Antoinette Uwamahoro, as well as rising stars like Gatesi Divine and Eric Nsabimana.

eMedia Investments Acquires Broadcasting Rights To New Italian Drama "Viola" For eExtra

Viola Vitale, a gorgeous and magnetic woman who has always worked in the field of fashion journalism, moves from Paris back to Palermo, armed only with optimism and trust, to search for the father she never knew.

There, Violet starts working for an online publisher, covering the crime beat, collaborating with Inspector Francesco Demir. He’s charismatic and seductive, with top investigative talent, but little faith in humanity…in that, the polar opposite of Violet. Highly intuitive on the job, Demir is also impulsive and given to bending the rules.

The pair work side-by-side on homicide cases, she as a reporter, he as a cop. Hugely difficult at first, given the clash of opposites, in time they learn to collaborate successfully. In part because Violet can count on her special gift: synesthesia.

Synesthesia is not merely a figure of speech, but also the actual spontaneous and uncontrollable blending of multiple senses – sight and hearing, for example. In Violet’s case, she associates emotions with colors. When she looks at a person, she sees a color they give off, allowing her to read their deepest, possibly hidden, feelings: fear, joy, pain…

Violet develops the ability to grasp the true mindsets of people she encounters. Behind her synesthesia, however, she guards a bigger secret, to do with her real reason for returning to Palermo.

According to insiders, eMedia Investments is looking to allocate the drama on eExtra in the coming months so we can only assume that it will most likely air by Saturday or Sunday as Viola consists of 26 episodes divided between two seasons. Another scenario would be having the show take up a weekday timeslot either where Pad Na Die Hart or Jeyran resides.

Compared to most other shows curated for eExtra's Kuiertyd, Viola was filmed in Italy so it joins the rankings of Jeyran and Sommerdahl Moorde as one of the few non-Turkish shows on the channel. Although Can Yaman (Droomvelore) is one of the lead actors and joining him is lead actress Francesca Chillemi.

Why Did Zee World Opt To Separate Its Operations Within Africa?

Zee World is a Indian based entertainment channel operated by Zee Entertainment Enterprises that distributes various films and series in English. The channel imports all its content from Zee TV and following its successful launch in Africa by 2015 have contributed to the creations of Zee Alem (Ethiopia), Zee Zonke (Southern Africa), Zee Bollymovies and Zee One.

As some readers have already seen, Zee World has decided to separate it's operations in parts of Africa with the rollout of Zee World SA and Zee World Africa. This is nothing like TLC varied feeds but more like that of Zee One where Zee Entertainment Enterprises gives both feeds a chance to offer first run content which has even led to a bit of rivalry amongst the feeds.

For instance, Zee World SA follows fellow competitor Star Life and began rolling out their series in half hour timeslots while Zee World Africa was still open to offering these shows in a longer format. Even more baffling was that Zee World Africa had a movie block while Zee World SA didn't so the only way consumers in SA can watch movies is through DStv Indian.

But one question that's been striking everyone's mind was the reason behind the sudden division amongst Africa. There are times where certain scenes would be deemed inappropriate for consumers with certain cultures and norms, it was the contributing factor to the inclusion of Nickelodeon SA and Nickelodeon Africa.

Those viewing Zee World including myself haven't seen anything that would be deemed insensitive to certain viewers as Zee World is culturally diverse and educational in some capacity so if I had to guess where the division originated it may have to do with Dance Naija Dance.

In recent years, Zee World has been investing locally with the inclusion of Zee Zonke and Zee Alem both of which have been culturally diverse in their own rights. Zee World has even been a distributor of various short films from MultiChoice's Talent Factory which could as well have been folded under Mzansi Magic and Africa Magic.

In terms of the division, they probably took a page of MultiChoice's playbook as they had been known to restrict certain content from consumers in certain parts of Africa. This is due to content from Africa Magic getting more exposure from their respective markets as consumers are familiar with the offering as opposed to acquiring it for South Africa where it may not garner traction.
