African Animation Linear Channel

In the last quarter of 2019, in partnership with Basic Lead, DISCOMICS, POP THE CULTURE, Toonz Media Group and Imira Entertainment (a Toonz Media Group subsidiary), AAN will launch the first African-owned 24HR Kids’ animation & pop culture thematic channel. The official launch will be held at DISCOP Johannesburg 2019.

In successive years, as African production increases, AAN will build out an African programming block with the expectation that 80% of the content on the channel will be African-produced by 2029.

MULTICHOICE TO LAUNCH 3 NEW CHANNELS THIS FESTIVE SEASON

The season for giving is around the corner and DStv is officially on a drive to offer its customers more value and more choice with an ever-evolving and enhanced television experience for the whole family this coming festive season! MultiChoice is delighted to have reached an agreement with Davinci, Curiosity Stream and CBS Justice channels to air on the DStv platform from the 13th & 21st of November.

DA VINCI

Kids edutainment channel, Da Vinci on channel is inspired by its namesake, groundbreaking artist, scientist and inventor, Leonardo Da Vinci. The channel, which will broadcast on channel 318 aspires to illustrate the beauty and wonders of human curiosity and its explorations, be it in science, arts or innovation. The new edutainment channel will amaze and delight DStv with a range of fun educational programming for kids and whole families alike filled with humor, imagination and meaningful educational takeaways that cover Science, Math & Tech, Play & Make; History & Personalities; Culture; Life & Nature and Sports & Leisure. Starting 13th November.

CURIOSITY STREAM

Delivering exclusive nonfiction documentaries and series about science, nature, history, technology, society and lifestyle. Available on CH 186, this will thrill non-fiction lovers. The Secrets of Quantum Physics, The Rise and Fall of T-Rex, Stephen Hawking’s Favorite Places, and many more are some of the shows to air on the channel, starting 21st November. CBS JUSTICE

CBS Justice is the destination for arresting drama, brought to you by the biggest television library in the world. Join the elite team of compelling characters on TV’s home of heroes, with global hits including “NCIS”, “NCIS: LA”, “CSI: Miami”, “Scorpion”, “Walker, Texas Ranger”, “Diagnosis Murder”, “Gunsmoke” and “Bonanza”. Available on CH 170 for subscribers starting the 21st of November.

These new channels will mean viewers will be able to view amazing programmes and get value for their money.
