SABC Children: Another Dream Journal For The SABC

Creators of top children's entertainment for SABC's TV channels, SABC Children was another one of SABC's upcoming channels for DTT back in 2012 which never came to be.

In 2015, SABC partnered up with Tuluntulu launched an online version of the brand from there viewers got to see what the channel was actually about and what it would offer.

SABC Children would have been multilingual like Kenya's Akilli Kids and cater towards children aged 2-12 offering a mix of local and international content making it one of the few SABC channels to offer foreign programming.

The programming would serve to entertain viewers but as mentioned earlier it would be available in different languages other than English. The schedule featured a large amount of local productions including The Magic Cellar, Roughing It Out, Challenge SOS, My Night and several YoTV productions.

Since this channel never came to be on DTT, SABC Education is currently distributing the local side of SABC Children knowing them they won't add the full catalogue only ones that hold educational value.

SABC Children joins the large list of dreams SABC had for DTT over the decade including SABC 4 and SABC 5, SABC Movies, 5 language based channels, parliamentary, health, music, history, SMME and interactive channel.

SABC launched their sport channel on OpenView with two additional channels set to follow in the coming months.
