With Turkish Fanfare On The Rise, Could e.tv Or Timeless Dizi Channel Pick Up This Historical Drama, The Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem?

In a short span of time Timeless Dizi Channel (TDC) and e.tv managed to win the heart of viewers with their dedicated selection of Turkish shows which makes it hard to decide which brand does it better.

TDC brought shows such as Karadayi, Bana Sevmeyi Anlat (Wings Of Love) and Al Yazmalım (The Red Scarf) while e.tv brought shows such as Paramparça (Broken Pieces, Gebroke Harte), Kara Sevda (Dark Love, Bittersoet) and Elif. Both offered series such as Kuzgun (Voelvry) and Kurt Seyit & Shura but which one of these two will be first to air The Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem (Magnificent Century: Kösem)?

Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem, recounts the life of Mahpeyker Kösem Sultan, a slave girl who became the most powerful woman in Ottoman history after she was captured and sent to the harem of Sultan Ahmed I.

The series stars actress Nurgül Yeşilçay, Beren Saat and Anastasia Tsilimpiou who portray the titular role in three different ages of her life, while actors Ekin Koç, Boran Kuzum, Taner Ölmez, Metin Akdülger and Tugay Mercan were cast as different sultans of the Ottoman dynasty.

Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem debuted back in 2015 and serves as a sequel to the 2011 series which might air only on TDC as their shows go from the late 2000s with e.tv going through the mid 2010s, Muhteşem Yüzyıl which is based on the life of Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, the longest-reigning Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, and his wife Hürrem Sultan, a slave girl who became the first Ottoman Haseki Sultan.

With streaming taking over the way one views their programming on TV. It wouldn't be shocking if these brands were to air it on their streaming services before making their linear debut.
