A few months ago, Zee World brought on some extraordinary antics across Africa. As the channel reduced primetime by 24 hours meaning new episodes can only be seen Monday to Saturday and alongside elites like M-Net and BBC divided their offering.
Something that has been used on brands like M-Net and BBC to often censor content that can be deemed dangerous in various African markets is being used on Zee World. You'd think that consumers would be watching the same thing with little variation.
But that's not the case here, apparently you'd have shows like Twist Of Fate airing new seasons much earlier than other markets and vice versa in those regions with another series same goes for other content viewed on the channel.
Questions amount to how long it will be till Zee One follows with a similar offering for consumers in South Africa and across Africa. It's already a challenge for Zee World consumers to watch Zee One shows months later now it's a division between regions.
Below a list of shows announced in February with release dates:
- Aparajita: premieres 9 May in South Africa and 20 May everywhere else
Follows the titular character who is deserted by her husband Akshay, leaving her alone to fend for her herself and her three daughters. But she rises to meet every challenge so that her daughters can be strong and independent.
- Unfortunate Love: premieres 24 April in South Africa and 21 April everywhere else
The show revolves around Lakshmi, a kind-hearted naive girl from a village who gets married to a businessman named Rishi Oberoi. However things take a turn when Lakshmi learns the truth of her marriage.
Other upcoming shows include Radha Mohan and Staying True for which their release dates were unveiled days prior.
