The channel has continuously conquered the leadership on TRP charts with all its shows, i.e, ‘Anupama’, ‘Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin’, ‘Yeh Hai Chahatein’, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, ‘Imlie’, ‘Pandya Store’, ‘Rajjo’, ‘Anandibaa aur Emily’ and others. Now that we are being blessed with seeing these shows, not just 6 but all 7 days, it will absolutely change the viewing experience for many. It truly showcases the channel’s commitment to the audience and unwavering faith in their content.

Zee Cinema and WION move up on DStv

Last year, MultiChoice unveiled two new channels for the Indian bouquet Zee Cinema from Zee Entertainment Enterprises and WION from Essel Group as both were slotted respectively on channel 470 and 471.

After almost a year on air on the platform, MultiChoice decides to silently move them 10 spaces up with Zee Cinema now channel 460 and WION on channel 461 with no explanation as to why but our hunch has to be that they're trying to get the channels close together.

Honestly it didn't make any sense to have them with those numbers considering that there was hardly any barrier keeping them apart from other Indian channels.

Carmen and Untangled to be added onto Zee One

Zee Entertainment Enterprises wasn't kidding when they said Zee One was trying to be a spin-off to Africa's #1 Indian entertainment channel Zee World which is exclusively available to MultiChoice's DStv as they acquire two new dramas for the channel, Untangled and Carmen.

Untangled, Diya, a gully badminton player, meets Arjun, a former badminton champ from an affluent family, who resents his own kin. Will Diya bring back the much-needed positivity and hope in Arujns life? Don't miss the premiere on October 7th at 6pm CAT.

Carmen, follows a young woman who comes to Cairo to become famous and rich. She starts working at a big company and as a presenter in Alwan radio station. Having lied in order to win the position; the lies that follow give rise to many comic situations. Carmen falls in love with Tawfeeq and faces many problems, but finally wins Tawfeeq and marries him.

Could Zee One Launch On MultiChoice's DStv Despite Zee World's Existence On The Platform? + Possible Launch Date For Zee Cinema And WION

In September, WION let the cat out of the bag by announcing their presence through the pay-tv giant in October only for it to be a no show thereafter MultiChoice tested out what appeared to be a Indian movie channel which was confirmed to be Zee Cinema.

Two months later, Zee Enterprises unveiled Zee One alongside 2 other channels for StarTimes and Openview but of course the latter coming to DStv weren't part of this ring of announcements.

It seems odd how Zee TV's presence was uttered for DStv and a month later a similar report surfaces but for customers on Openview and StarTimes. Is it possible Zee One has some involvement? Maybe its coming to DStv alongside the two other channels.

The idea seemed far fetched seeing that Zee One is a repeats channel for Zee World on top of that the content is very accessible across Africa but it's been proven on several occasions that none of it matters.

MultiChoice already supply a handful of rerun channels including Mzansi Wethu, kykNET Lekker, Me, Real Time, Novela Magic and Moja 9.9. and formerly BET2 and EVA+.

Zee One could launch like EVA+ which is tailored for certain customers while accessible to those who don't deem it as necessary or launch like kykNET Lekker where a certain number of customers can access the channel.

At the moment, there's no update on when Zee Cinema and WION will be made available to MultiChoice's DStv but the company is holding some presentation on November 11th where they'll likely mention details of the channels.

THE INDIANS ARE COMING, THE INDIANS ARE COMING!!! As Zee Enterprises Launches Additional Channels To StarTimes, Openview And MultiChoice's DStv

Earlier in the month, it was announced through several media outlets that WION would make their way to DStv later this month which might have been pushed to November.

Not only that Zee Cinema which is currently available on StarTimes might make their way to the pay-tv giant as they've seemingly started testing out the channel.

Amidst the losses of several international channels part of it due to the rise in streaming. MultiChoice has been investing in more African production to fill that gap while StarTimes hasn't done much throughout the year or at least not until now.

According to sources, StarTimes is set to add three channels Zee TV, Zee One and Zee Tamil from Zee Enterprises which will likely anger some consumers seeing that they already have an extensive lineup of Bollywood entertainment not to mention these channels don't offer anything similar to the channels lost.

Zee TV which is currently available on DStv serves as a Hindi entertainment channel offering a variety of series and movies while Zee Tamil is like the main channel except in another language with its own programming.

Zee One which is very likely adapted from the German counterpart copied Zee World and dubbed their programming. My guess would be the revived version will cater for English viewers which would serve as a rival to Zee World on DStv seeing that it will likely come as a repeats channel.

Basically, MultiChoice and StarTimes are introducing three different channels (as mentioned) while one platform has all theirs coming from India the other adds Me as an accessory in this Indian extravaganza.

Zee One will also be added to Openview despite having eExtra having content from the channel which leads to the question on what is gonna happen to the content on there.

Back By Popular Demand Nobody Knows As Zee Bollymovies Might Be Making A Comeback On DStv Under The Name Zee Cinema

MultiChoice has started testing out another Indian channel which is none other than the Zee Cinema channel or as you put it Zee Bollymovies main counterpart as two films from Zee Enterprises has been added to the lineup which are Mitron and Rock On.

That's not the only channel coming from Zee Enterprises apparently MultiChoice in SA will be adding the Indian news channel WION to the lineup meaning the Zee supremacy lives on.

Zee Bollymovies launched in March 2017 on DStv and lasted a year. Of course no reason was given as to why the channel was removed but it's main counterpart Zee Cinema has been operating for a while on StarSat.

One of the likely reasons this channel is launching could be due to the massive loss of several international channels on the platform so Zee Cinema could have been the last alternative.

Zee Bollymovies launched on channel 114 so it wouldn't surprise me if the main counterpart occupied channel 113 seeing that KIX took up it's previous space or 142 to compliment Maisha Magic Movies and it was seen as a Compact channel maybe it will be put on Family and in some way this would make up for the loss of M-Net Movies All-Stars on that package seeing that the replacement went into Compact.

Meaning now MultiChoice has more than 10 movie channels if you exclude the regional channels e.g. eMovies and include the African movie channels.

WION could be added in channel 418 seeing that some African markets have Arise News on channel 415 and AfricaNews is on channel 417. It wouldn't surprise me if it were made available to Access customers which would be MultiChoice's way of not making them feel left out.

In other news, TLNovelas is not a pop-up which leads to the question. Could what several sources have speculated about MultiChoice be true that they're possibly looking into reviving past channels seeing that this Zee Bollymovies copy is gracing viewers screens?

New Channel Alert: WION Coming Soon To DStv In South Africa

The World is One News (WION) is an Indian multinational English language news channel headquartered in New Delhi. It is owned by the Essel Group and is part of the Zee Media network of channels which is set to merge with Sony Pictures Network India.

Zee Media operates other channels across Africa such as Zee TV, Zee World, Zee Alem, Zee Magic and Zee Cinema.

WION operates as a digital service and an app featuring their most watched show, WION Edge alongside other segments such as World Order, MELT, Pitstop, Tech It Out and many more.

The channel is scheduled to launch in South Africa later in October on DStv. The date and channel number hasn't been disclosed as of yet but a promo is available if you click here.

NHK World Japan is currently available on the DStv across Africa and seemingly on the DStv app in South Africa, is it possible will consider operating a linear channel?

MultiChoice is also holding a showcase in the coming months where they'll unveil upcoming developments for their customers.
