News Shorts: The Boomerang Bug Has Been Retired On Cartoonito Africa, A Rebroadcast Of Fenix Rollouts On e.tv And Miss Heritage Global To Broadcast On Tshwane TV And GauTV

Cartoonito rolled out in Africa with some technical issues

Last month, Warner Bros. Discovery rolled out Cartoonito across Africa offering shows such as Batwheels, CoComelon and Bugs Bunny Builders. The channel has something for preschoolers and their families. Compared to France which only took a day to bid farewell to Boing, WBD Africa took several weeks.

In Portuguese speaking territories particularly Angola and Mozambique, the switch from Boomerang to Cartoonito rolled out smoothly while as the whole of Africa took several weeks to transition out of Boomerang. As of right now, the channel fully rebranded to Cartoonito with Boomerang appearing in few areas.

Fenix makes its highly anticipated return on e.tv

Based on the French miniseries Le Bazar de la Charité, Fenix tells the story of three women whose lives change after a fire breaks out during a charity party, but more of the focus goes to one of the leading lady's husband who has resorted to violence and injustice and used his power to seperate her from their child.

The series launched on eExtra back in 2021 in a similar format to e.tv's 8:30 timeslot in place of Wrede Stad now consumers can catch all the action again on weekdays from 1st May. Another series is set to rollout on the channel is Roekeloos Dade.

Miss Heritage Global is coming to DStv

Tshwane TV's Website May Be Up For Sale With Outdated GauTV Website Still Visible

Community channels Tshwane TV and GauTV both of which are supplied to MultiChoice's DStv by Zallywood Inc. seem to have gotten themselves in a much deeper hole following the alienation of their audiences for more prophets.

As stated a while back, several community channels from the likes of Soweto TV, Cape Town TV and Mpuma Kapa TV have all been working on improving their offering as we reach a digital era with brands like these becoming a thing of the past but unlike these channels at least there's signs of life unfortunately I can't say the same for these two channels.

Apparently, Tshwane TV's website which was seen as somewhat of an encyclopaedia or wiki has been replaced with spam mail as those who try viewing the website either get directed to ads requiring your phone number or other any scams seen on the defunct website.

But that's not the end of it when searching for their website it writes the domain might be put up for sale. Is it possible that new management could be underway for the channel or is the brand's future alongside GauTV as dark as BopTV.

GauTV's website is still functional if anything it hasn't been outdated in a long while which just leads me to believe that there's a lot of mismanagement happening behind closed doors. It's possible that MultiChoice hasn't picked up on that or has but probably working on something.

From what was stated by the founder of Limpopo TV, the pay-tv brand is in no mood to add another Soweto TV or 1KZN but I believe the impossible is possible. Take for instance, the poorly managed ITV Networks which was supplemented by Hilaal TV taking to account that it is religious.

When adding a new channel or upgrading an existing channel to high definition. Community and religious channels are often last when considered for such setup.

Is it possible that MultiChoice will review the offering in this section as seen with fellow religious channels taking to account the financial circumstances in this scenario?

As outlined by Cape Town TV, several community stations need DStv in order to survive and some like this brand for instance rely on them to help out on several expenses. But if you're anything like Tshwane TV why bother about the details.

Tshwane TV Goes Dark On StarSat, Should DStv Follow Perhaps?

StarSat continues on its losing streak with another channel set to go off by the end of the month but to be honest Tshwane TV has been a waste and is nothing like Soweto TV or Cape Town TV alongside its sister channel GauTV or at least from what I've seen.

As much as I wanted this channel off air for another reason, it's actually being let go due to contractual issues.

Tshwane TV managed by GauTV's parent company Zallywood Inc. was available on the StarSat and DStv platform from the early 2011/2 offering news, reality shows, educational content and other entertainment.

Over the years, community channels have tried to modernize their lineup by the means of sports and local dramas outside of your usual free-to-air or pay-tv outlets but they're those brands which seem to have lost touch of reality which is where Tshwane TV comes in.

Notice how most of the content revolves on prophets or preachers and worst part to all this with Zallywood offering two channels they took advantage of GauTV to lure more people into this trio. It wouldn't be surprising if the demise on StarSat occured on DStv at some given point.

Tshwane TV and GauTV appear to be inactive I mean the hardly updates any viewers regarding upcoming attractions and the closest partnership they've ever done is through a church. Again, would it really be shocking if these channels were to be discontinued on DStv as well?

MultiChoice has religious channels for a reason and not that community channels can't offer them but they were put there to represent their respective and promote their respective community. From what is already implied about the channels, Prophets represent the whole of Gauteng.

Possible Abomination: A Look Into Tshwane TV And GauTV

As streaming becomes another source of entertainment as cable starts dying down. There's still plenty of viewers in the mood for the same fast action or kungfu. This topic dives further below the glitz and glamour and more toward rural setting.

Community channels seek to be representative of their respective areas providing content that informs, empower and resonate with their audience. Often criticized for the quality of content and failure to keep up to a consistent schedule finally catch a break.

After nearly a decade, these fellow stations have begun getting some much relevant content. Soweto TV broadcasted their first reality show Single In Soweto, Mpuma Kapa TV got weekly live event Champion Pro Wrestling (CPW) and Cape Town TV has a local YouTube (not SABC) drama Mathata.

Within this excitement unfortunately there comes brands which in some way deserve to be put out of its misery if not saved at this point which is none other than Tshwane TV and GauTV.

Tshwane TV has been on air through the DStv platform for nearly a decade and what started out as a brand from Zallywood Inc. that offers news, documentaries and factual content has become a religious station. I mean that's all you're getting on primetime and it even spreads through weekends.

It's sister channel GauTV runs more like a news station but in retrospect seems to be doing way better than Tshwane TV. The channel served as a replacement to a defunct community channel on Openview and as it is Zallywood Inc. seems to have ghosted themselves.

I wasn't aware this brand existed until the pandemic and when you look at these stations. There's a lot to be sad about as mentioned above while others dive onto entertainment they dive to the niche parts of television which sparks questions over the fate of these channels.

As mentioned, Tshwane TV and GauTV seem to be a little off and this has been going on for several years. Other brands like Soweto TV and Mpuma Kapa TV got some rescuing but these channels ghosted themselves to the point where they're hardly on social platforms.

Tshwane TV's last post was made in November 2021 and it was about the birth of GauTV which again brings us to the question regarding the future of this brand including GauTV.

Could the channels be done for or at least Tshwane TV seeing that GauTV's appears more active or could they merge or get replaced by another channel?

Die Kontrak coming to eExtra
'Die Kontrak' is the popular TV talent search program where a record contract from the prestigious Coleske group can be released. The program premiered in 2018 and Demi Lee Moore was announced as the winner.

Now it's time for another singer with a big dream to come true and the mentors have only two weeks, before entries close on April 29, to select their contestants from the online entries to become part of the Top 26 .

'The Contract' has four mentors, each of whom will eventually coach only two participants.

When the program starts airing on eExtra in August, all of the mentors' participants will each receive an unsigned Coleske record deal and compete against each other to retain that contract. After each episode, the Big Boss will tear up one contestant's contract until he finally gives that signature that will change a life.
