MultiChoice Registers A Brand New Pop-Up Channel, Ramadaan TV

MultiChoice is set to launch Ramadaan TV to cater for the spiritual needs of Muslim subscribers on DStv and possibly GOtv throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Ramadaan TV will open on Friday, 1 April likely to coincide with the event on Saturday, 2 April and close during the first week of May which happens to be the same period the whole event ends.

The channel might be available on all DStv and GOtv as details of the package have yet to be confirmed but it will go live on channel 346.

The special pop-up channel will likely provide subscribers with access to Ramadan-focused lifestyle, movies, talk shows, music and kiddies’ programming. Similarly available on the Ramadan channel are the daily call to prayers, docuseries, cooking shows and programmes on the conduct and obligations of Muslims during Ramadan.

Some titles include Live Crossing To Makkah, Stories Of The Prophets, 7 Wonders Of A Wali, Morning With Dua, Mufti Menk and Message Of The Quran.

In other developments, eMedia Investments confirmed during the week that eToonz, eExtra, eMovies and eMovies Extra will remain on DStv as they haven't received confirmation on how long the new agreement will last.
