eExtra, eMovies, eMovies Extra and eToonz Remain On MultiChoice's DStv Until Further Notice, Might Include e.tv In The Rest Of Africa + New Existing Channels For Other DStv Customers

(You can now share on Facebook)

During the weekend, several viewers noticed that MultiChoice removed the channel termination notice on eExtra, eMovies, eMovies Extra and eToonz while e.tv removed the termination adverts which were put up inbetween a program.

As you browse the TV Guide for the month of April, all these channels have a full length schedule instead of the EPG message "channel will close March 31st" hinting at a possible renegotiation of their agreement with eMedia Investments or as some consider it April Fools Joke.

MultiChoice had operated certain channels such as Lifetime, History, Toonami and tvN. Two of which had their terminations removed while others were scruped temporally.

When asked about the removal, MultiChoice remained committed to their earlier statement shared by the media while there was no luck with eMedia Investments at the time of posting.

eExtra, eMovies, eMovies Extra and eToonz were set to close by the end of the month meaning viewers won't miss out on any of their favourite content.

MultiChoice had announced additions of existing channels to more customers such as KIX to DStv Access, PBS Kids to DStv Easyview and the launch of a second movie channel so all that will likely occur as viewers will be paying more monthly from April.

Question looms over the sudden change of heart, did MultiChoice and eMedia Investments have some beef or could it be that MultiChoice listened to their audience or is it possible that maybe the channels will be scrapped at a later stage as they source out the necessary channels.

The status of e.tv remains the same across Africa on DStv and GOtv. But I wouldn't be surprised if MultiChoice decided to keep them onboard.
