#WeAreDrama: High Society: Scandal Has Been Added Onto eVOD Ahead Of Linear Debut And Dayan, Destructive Beauty Has Release Date On eExtra + Hell's Kitchen Alongside A New Season Of Dance Moms Debuts On eReality

The Koreans are coming to eVOD

In the start of 2022, we got to learn more about eMedia's streaming service eVOD. Aside from the fact that they're supplying future local and Turkish dramas for e.tv and eExtra. They seem to be leveraging more content from eExtra such as Indian and Korean dramas.

This should have been suspected when they added 10 episodes of Two Women before they could even air them on eExtra. My guess is that eMedia is trying to appease the consumers there by giving them an endless lineup of entertainment to avoid losing customers.

The family drama High Society: Scandal had recently been added to eVOD and just like Two Women and every other Afrikaans Premium drama viewers seemingly get 10 episodes per week.

Interesting enough, Dayan, Destructive Beauty was added with 44 episodes while the remaining 22 episodes are nowhere in site for the time being.

eExtra currently has 33 slots on weekdays of which they maintain 48,5% while the remaining 51,5% is divided between e.tv and eVOD but unlike e.tv the offering through their streaming service doesn't look like repeats as they're on different platforms.

This is an indicator that primetime offering on eExtra have begun plummeting for more repeats. This issue is common amongst international channels but the one that struggles to cope with this are the main brands being e.tv.

Main brands are regarded as premium for their unique offering and try not to replicate from other channels or brands. The minute content from their own platform makes way to their own brand it takes away the premium.

Outside of local and Kuiertyd, e.tv has less of that compared to the rest of their channels.

Dayan, Destructive Beauty coming longer than you think on eExtra

Dayan, Destructive Beauty is currently streaming on eVOD through the Indian and Korean section of the platform complimenting other Indian soaps Piyaa Albela and the first two seasons of Naagin.

The third season is currently airing on eExtra and will continue until January 20. Thereafter the new series Vishkanya which will likely be bundled on eVOD ahead of time replaces Naagin in that timeslot.

Dayan, Destructive Beauty will likely air May 2 after Vishkanya so viewers could use this time to stream it on eVOD or find other programs as they wait.

Gordon Ramsay is coming to eReality

Gordon Ramsay stars in the American adaptation of the British cooking show launching later in the month on South Africa's most popular reality channel.

Each season, two teams of chefs compete for a job as head chef at a restaurant, while working in the kitchen of a restaurant set up in the television studio. A progressive elimination format reduces a field of 20 to 12 to a single winner over the course of each season. In a typical episode, a single contestant is selected for elimination.

Dance Moms follows the training and careers of children in dance and show business under the tutelage of Abby Lee Miller as well as the relationships between Miller, the dancers, and their often bickering mothers.

Hell's Kitchen starts 22 January at 16:40 and Dance Moms airs 2 days later on eReality.
