MultiChoice Will No Longer Carry On DStv: eExtra, eMovies, eMovies Extra And eToonz
After 5 years, MultiChoice has decided to scrap majority of the channels provided by eMedia Investments including eExtra, eToonz, eMovies and eMovies Extra which can also be seen on the Openview platform with eExtra on StarSat. MultiChoice hasn't stated why exactly they're parting ways with the channels and leaving viewers to just e.tv and eNCA as the company is set to rollout a new kids channel DreamWorks Channel which is set to carry majority of the content already available on eToonz. eMedia Investments has experienced their frustration with the pay-tv platform on multiple occasions. Around the time, MultiChoice included their channels they apparently reduced their carriage fees and pay SABC and Newzrooom Afrika more money even though eNCA was the most watched news channel.
