September is full of premieres for telenovela lovers specifically for those viewing on eExtra as the channel will be rolling out 4 new Turkish series with one likely to not be Afrikaans dubbed with Telemundo and TLNovelas rolling out just 1 series for audiences within the month.

New Series:
- Soete Wraak - Follows the story of two people who were together in college. Sinan has fallen in love with Pelin but he rejected his feelings and insulted her in front of all. They two meet each other again after many years and Pelin asks Sinan for help to change her fate and the situation brings them together. Pelin and Sinan both are in love, but faces many consequences. Currently streaming on eVOD.

- The Sisterhood - three sisters who grew up unaware of each other receive a mysterious letter one day and meet at the wedding of one of them. But on the wedding night they will find themselves in an unexpected situation. After that night, they cannot leave the beautiful town of the Aegean and are forced to live together. This imperative condition gradually leaves its place to the adventure of discovering brotherhood, friendship and solidarity. Premieres 3 September on eExtra.

- #DisComplicated - Follows Eda Yıldız longing to become a landscape architect. After losing her parents when she was young, this brilliant student pursued her studies with scholarships. - Head Over Heels - Natalia always surrounded by love; and she believed her future would get even better when she meets Diego seeing as love emerged instantly between them the moment they met. However, they never imagined that their lives would dramatically change because Rodrigo, Diego’s twin brother, was ready to do anything to get Natalia. Premieres 19 September on TLNovelas.

- Every Girl's Dream - Krisha a hospitality graduate, trying best to prove herself and help her family financially by working at her father's friends' royal hotel in Udaipur. It was there where she meets her Prince Charming, Devraj. Premieres 21 September on Zee World.

- Verdeelde Liefde - Caught between two families, Zeynep was born in the slums and raised by a rich family. Living in bad conditions, her family give her up for adoption in exchange for money. In the mist of her struggles she meets Mehdi. Premieres 20 September on eExtra.

- Hidden Passion - 20 years after the first instalment, the Reyes and Elizondo family will face new challenges that threaten their family. The death of a teacher shakes the family as evidence points to one of the sons of one of the couples as the possible culprit, triggering a series of heartbreaking events that will, once again, put their love and loyalty to the test. Premieres 26 September on Telemundo.

[Missed Opportunity]: Expanding The Reach Of Zee World To DStv Access

eExtra was ripped off from the DStv platform for at least a month and was reinstated shortly after alongside eToonz, eMovies and eMovies Extra on the DStv platform following pending investigation by the Competition Tribunal which will take at least 6 months to resolve.

MultiChoice appears to have moved on although they don't put it in writing recent additions like DreamWorks and Movie Room has led me to believe that the pay-tv company has no plans to keep these channels past 6 months or at least a portion of channels.

As outlined by MultiChoice, eMedia Investments bulk of content doesn't fit into their 5 year content strategy for which the brand had stated consumers are viewing more DStv content than actual original programs although 2 appear to fit that description.

On top of that, they had mentioned that they won't be able to launch as much channels as they used to in the past year due to transponder constraints so whenever a new channel comes it usually has to occupy the space taken away from another channel.

In court, MultiChoice stated 3 SABC channels would accommodate for the 4 e.tv channels in the coming future but that's the thing. If anyone is similar with the SABC then you can already imagine how the content would differ.

Instead of Postman Pat you get Words And Numbers and Die Put is supplemented by past episodes of 90 Plein Street and although some of this content can benefit some audiences it's completely different.

The package I'm targeting for this article had to be Easyview cause as seen by several consumers it's one of the least valuable packages in the market with few exceptions being wrestling on TNT alongside the lifestyle and factual entertainment viewed on Real Time.

On top of that, the package isn't fortunate with additions and at times replacements for whenever a channel is removed from the DStv platform which was the case with eMedia's 4 channels.

When they were unexpectedly scrapped from the DStv platform. Multichoice rather just add 1 channel to supplement for 4 worse is when the channel has nothing remotely similar to any of the channels, KIX.

MultiChoice should have done a better job reviewing the aspects of each channel cause it's clear by some readers that this wasn't the case at all for eMedia's stations as the brand made it seem as if nothing new appeared on those stations.

eToonz was mostly preschool and that changed over the years regardless MultiChoice directed viewers to Disney Junior and JimJam with Cartoon Network being the only brand for older children and eExtra came off as a local channel.

Interesting to note is how they were able to keep up with the offering but didn't bother to just view every aspect of the channel as there was more to the channel than the supposed local offering which was compared to kykNET and Mzansi Wethu.

There was more to eExtra than just Kuiertyd there was that chunk of Korea and Zee TV offering which surprise surprise comes with a 24 hour linear channel that is seen on DStv Access everywhere else except South Africa but MultiChoice just opts for more MTV Base.

Viewers on DStv Access get to view this offering for only 6 months but what happens that duration passes those who are paying more can view this content on Zee World while those paying less being these consumers even Easyview are left in the dark for the foreseeable future.

Bollywood Updates: Starsat To Welcome Zulu Dubbed Version Of Zee TV's The Heir, Zee World Reportedly Postpones Unfortunate Love And Every Girl's Dream And Star Life Welcomes Back Game Of Love And Adds Imile To The Lineup

The news of The Heir's launch on the StarSat platform has garnered mix reaction from viewers as most want to see something similar through the likes of SABC 1 and Mzansi Magic instead of having another eExtra as the channel St Rise has been positioned in the way of these two channels.

Unlike Mzansi Magic, SABC 1 has dubbed several international content primarily kids shows in a variety of native languages so St Rise hopping on the dub wagon doesn't seem far fetched at this point in time.

In other startling news, Zee World still doesn't have a launch date for Unfortunate Love and Every Girl's Dream. The two series were teased later in July with timeslots already allocated for the shows but it seems as if the shows won't come in their respective slots.

Other developments on the channel includes one of their other shows like My Heart Knows which follows Meet In Love to have it's broadcast reduced to compliment Dance Naija Dance which is a spinoff to Dance Africa Dance.

Last development isn't as much devastating as the other two unless you're looking at fan favourite series returning to Star Life, Game Of Love which is just Zee World's Twist Of Fate or Telemundo's Fearless Heart so yeah you can see how irritable that can be.

Good news for audiences of Star Life, the channel apparently picked up rights to another series Imlie which follows the titular character as she is forced to marry a journalist after they seek shelter in a hut during heavy rains. On reaching the city, she realises that her husband is engaged to be married.

Based on the Bengali drama Ishti Kutum, the series stars Sumbul Touqeer Khan, Fahmaan Khan, Mayuri Deshmukh and Gashmeer Mahajani.

The news of Imlie comes just as the channel unveils new series Pandya Store and Night Of Doom.

Major Programming Changes Coming Soon To Zee World

During this past week, Zee TV made headlines after The Vow abruptly scrapped for the malnourished This Is Fate (Kundali Bhagya) which serves as the second instalment to Twist Of Fate (Kumkum Bhagya) and the troubles don't stop there as more consumers on Zee World will now have to brace for the following:

1. A rebroadcast to the second season of Twist Of Fate will air at 3pm immediately after the first season comes to an end.

2. Just like The Vow on Zee One, Age Is Just A Number will suffer the same fate as it's cancelled after 26 episodes for another rebroadcast, Gangaa.

 

3. My Heart Knows and I Do go on production break. Unlike the first two, My Heart Knows will be supplemented by new series, Every Girl's Dream while Luck In My Fate now titled Unfortunate Love replaces I Do.

4. What Women Want goes international as Zee World acquired rights to the former Glow TV series with Revati Priya. It airs every Saturday at 12pm on Zee World and every Friday at 5.30pm on Zee One.

 

5. Meet In Love will remain on the same timeslot but five days a week as a new variety show Dance Naija Dance which serves as a spin-off to Dance Africa launches from 6 August every weekend at 7pm CAT.

6. The Baker's Table and Grand Trunk Rasoi which were previously seen on Zee One will also be added to Zee World.

Zee World, the world's first English dubbed Indian entertainment channel curated for Africa home to various Bollywood movies, series, reality and variety shows will soon be rolling out a new drama titled Every Girl's Dream.

Every Girl's Dream (Tere Bina Jiya Jaye Na) which was launched in November 2021 on Zee TV revolves around Krisha a hospitality graduate, trying best to prove herself and help her family financially by working at her father's friends' royal hotel in Udaipur. Zibonele FM remains on DStv

Residents of Khayelitsha and listers of Radio Zibonele protested outside Icasa offices in Century City after Icasa informed them of shutting down the station on Wednesday. The station failed to renew its license since 2018 and were given seven days to shut down.

“We bring you bad news today as the board solely because we want to ensure that we work together with Icasa in resolving this issue,” they explained to listeners.

Listeners were told that they will continue to broadcast on DStv boutique and online as these platforms do not require a licence from Icasa.

Teen Titans Go! Season 8 has been renewed for Season 8 by Cartoon Network. The original television series, named Teen Titans ran from 2003 to 2006. The eighth season will bring characters like Beard Hunter and King Shark, and many others. The upcoming season will make a new record, as 'Teen Titans Go!' will be the longest-running animated series in DC history. Fans will see Teen Titans Go! cross its 400 episodes.

Die Put renewed for second season

Doodsondes will be returning to e.tv for the fourth season when Droomvelore concludes in August. Also in the lineup for the month will be a new game show Die Kontrak and a brand new season of Die Put on eExtra.

In season 2, When the Koçovalı Family left Çukur, a formation that called themselves Karakuzular suddenly occupied the derelict Çukur. This group, led by Çeto and Mahsun, makes Çukur even more uncanny than it really is. They commit a massacre at the wedding of Celasun and Akşın, in the village house where Vartolu left to start a new life, in the coffeehouse where İdris, Emmi, and Paşa wanted to build a new pit. Nedret Koçovalı, Acar Koçovalı, Muhittin, and Paşa died as a result of these massacres.

After months and months of waiting on the third instalment to the popular drama Twist Of Fate, Luck In My Fate. The series will finally make a debut on the channel under the title Unfortunate Love making it the first series to avoid the "Fate" brand.

Unfortunate Love tells the story of a small-town girl who will believe in dreams and love. She gets married to a young billionaire and her hopes will be shattered when she will learn that their marriage is part of a deal between their families.

Aishwarya Khare and Rohit Suchanti take on the lead roles of Lakshmi Rishi Oberoi (née Bajwa) and Rishi Oberoi. Other supporting characters include Munira Kudrati as Shalini “Shalu” Bajwa, Aman Gandhi as Ayushmann “Ayush” Chopra and Maera Mishra as Malishka Bedi.

The series is said to replace I Do when it goes on production break in the coming months.

Glow TV fans in South Africa with Zee World and Star Life fans across Africa have even more reasons to celebrate as a reruns of the historical fiction Jodha And Akbar surfaces on Zee World with two additions, the family drama Pandya Store and romcom The Power Of Love.

On Zee World, Jodha & Akbar follows a fiery Rajput princess who is obliged to marry a Mughal emperor, Akbar, for political reasons. Eventually, mutual respect and admiration lead to true love between the two. Rajat Tokas and Paridhi Sharma take on the lead roles.

 

On Glow TV, The Power Of Love (Barrister Babu) follows Bondita, a former child bride, becomes a barrister with the support of her progressive husband. Educated and empowered, she takes on social evils while also tackling obstacles in her personal life. Anchal Sahu takes on the lead.

Summer Camp Island's weird delay

The sixth and final season of Summer Camp Island has been postponed until next year. New episodes of the acclaimed Cartoon Network Studios series were scheduled to appear on HBO Max on June 9, but the streamer mysteriously delayed the new episodes on June 6. Creator Julia Pott told fans that the reason for the delay does not have to do with the show itself.

One fan asked if there was a reason for the delay, but she could not explain. "Unfortunately not allowed to share but it's just logistical things and nothing to do with the show itself," the Adventure Time veteran wrote . When another fan asked if anyone asked for a delay because of the content, Pott said no. "We will still tell all our stories about time," she wrote .

Summer Camp Island launched on Cartoon Network in 2018 and moved to HBO Max for its second season in June 2020. The show centers on friends Oscar Peltzer, an elephant, and Hedgehog, a hedgehog, who were dropped off at a magical summer camp at the start of the series.

Chris Miller is set to direct Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation’s untitled Smurfs musical movie. The announcement will be made during the Paramount and Nick presentation at Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

South Park‘s Pam is writing the LAFIG Belgium and IMPS production which is set for release on Dec. 20, 2024.

Sylvester Stallone is making the jump to streaming. Paramount+ has released the first teaser for “Tulsa King,” the new crime drama from “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan, featuring Stallone in the central role.

Stallone, in the first regular TV role of his career, plays Dwight Manfredi, a New York Mafia head who finally gets out of jail after a 25-year sentence. Upon his release, he’s unceremoniously relocated by his boss to Tulsa, Okla. to establish criminal operations there. Stuck in a new location with zero existing connections and with no support from his Mafia family, Manfredi slowly builds a crew of unlikely allies to establish his own criminal empire.

 

“Tulsa King” premieres with its first two episodes Nov. 13, followed by weekly episode drops.

At the Warner Bros Discovery Upfront presentation, Mindy Kaling took the stage to showcase the upcoming animated series, Velma, with one big change to the lead character.

In the first look at Kaling's adult animation comedy Velma, which is a spinoff of the popular Scooby-Doo cartoons, we got our first glimpse at the reimagined Velma Dinkley. “Hopefully you noticed my Velma is South Asian,” Kaling told the crowd. “If people freak out about that, I don’t care.”

While this is the first glimpse we’ve gotten at the upcoming series, it’s not the first we’ve heard of the reimaging for Velma. Last summer, it was announced Velma would be South Asian. Unfortunately, there was a lot of backlash for this from fans of the original cartoon.

The new animated series was announced in early 2021 for HBO Max with Mindy Kaling billed as both executive producer and the voice of the titular character. Velma is part of the streaming service’s push for more adult animation. Velma tells the origin story of Velma Dinkley, the bespeckled, brains of the Scooby Doo Mystery Inc. gang.

Everything seems to indicate that Laura Londoño and Sebastian Carvajal would be the protagonists of the series 'Manes', which would prepare the RCN channel as producer, for the Amazon platform. so what revealed the presenter and expert in telenovelas

Supposedly Sebastián Carvajal is exclusive to the
channel and how his project of Señora Isabel
would have postponed for the second half of the year, managers gave him a short character in the
series by Leandro Díaz, as confirmed by the actor.

But now he would play Julian, a character he did
Nicolas Montero in the series Hombres de RCN, a
stock market man.

Kundali Bhagya loses an important character...for now

Kundali Bhagya is one of the most loved and long-running daily soaps on TV screens. The show has a massive fan following and people are fans of the lead couple Karan and Preeta. The roles are played by Shraddha Arya and Dheeraj Dhoopar. Amidst the recent rumours of Dheeraj Dhoopar leaving the show, Shraddha Arya shared a montage of pictures on social media, giving proof of their impeccable chemistry.

In the post shared by the actress, she is seen giving some romantic and adorable poses with her on-screen love Dheeraj Dhoopar. They are seen lost in each other’s eyes and in another picture they are seen hugging each other happily. Both of them are seen dressed in black outfits and present on the sets of Kundali Bhagya.

As several outlets reported, Dheeraj Dhoopar is all set to make his silver screen debut with a Punjabi film. The sources informed the portal that Dheeraj is not quitting Kundali Bhagya instead the actor will take a break and later will return to the show. Reportedly, Shakti's track in the show is going to be temporary and he will just add drama to the entire upcoming plot as the show with a leap of five years.

A First For Nigeria: Zee World's Dance Naija Dance

From roaring success in India to inevitable greatness in Singapore and across 52 countries in Africa in 2021, it’s time for Zee World’s Dance Naija Dance in Nigeria.

Zee Entertainment’s popular General Entertainment Channel Zee World (DStv channel 166 and GOtv channel 125) will be keeping its viewers glued to their seats and screens with a dance show like no other. Dance Naija Dance, Zee World’s reality dance competition aims to reveal the best dance crew in Nigeria.

 

Zee World has been a trailblazer in redefining entertainment across Africa over the years with being the first to dub Indian series and movies dubbed in English, showcasing the first Afro-Indian Telenovela Mehek in 2018 and the first Pan-African inter-country fusion dance challenge, Dance Africa Dance in 2021. Zee World has evolved into a brand of global celebration bringing Africa and India together. Dance Naija Dance offers a fusion of Nigerian-Indian dance moves uniting both cultures through music, vibrancy, colour and diversity.

Dance Naija Dance will be anchored by a blend of Nollywood and Bollywood personalities and dancers. These include the Hosts - Hero Daniels and Pelumi Buari, Choreographers/Mentors - Sashin Kandhai and Kenneth Agabata; while Kunle Remi and Uraysha Ramrachia will be the judges.

The reality show is expected to run for 10 weeks and with not only a grand cash prize of five million naira but also prize hampers for the winning teams.

 

 

With the reality competition set to start airing in August, production has begun for the top 16 finalists selected from more than 350 entries across Nigeria. Dance Naija Dance will air in 52 countries in Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.

Development Hell: Countdown To The List Of Bollywood Channels Coming Soon

Just going a through a list of concepts which was discussed, rumoured, delayed or potentially scrapped. Some of Bollywood channels currently seen on DStv and Openview were derived from several other concepts.

But I'm not here to discuss that but share a list of other channels and it goes as follows:

 

1. eBella/eBolly
The defunct channel was said to make a comeback as a replacement to one of the current Indian channels on Openview. The channel was said to offer Bollywood films something you hardly get on eMovies and other entertainment.

2. &TV
&TV is a Hindi language entertainment channel operated by Zee Entertainment Enterprises home to shows viewers would have come across on Zee TV such as Begusarai, The Heir and on eVOD Dayan, Destructive Beauty. The reasons for its absence has to do with Zee TV as they licence content from the brand and with both being operated by the same company the two are in sink.

The only known regions to provide it a standalone is the US and Asia.

 

3. Star Maa
Star Maa is a Telegu entertainment channel operated by Star India which broadcasts dramas, reality shows and movies. The channel was said to launch on DStv Indian.

4. Untitled Zee World repeats channel 1
Around the time Zee Bollynova launched on the defunct Kwesé TV and before Zee One existed. Rumour had it that MultiChoice was looking to add a reruns channel for their #1 Bollywood entertainment channel which could have been scrapped for Zee Alem.

5. Star Gold
Star Gold is the brand name Star India gives to their movie channels. This was part of list of possible movie channels on DStv but the channel be viewed on StarSat.

6. Untitled Zee World repeats channel 2
Close to the launch of Zee Alem in Ethiopia, Zee Entertainment Enterprises revealed in an interview that they were open to launching some regional channels. The second repeats channel was said to cater for Zulu, Swahili and Hausa viewers.

 

7. Life OK/Utsav
Disney+ is scheduled to launch in South Africa in the coming month and Star branding has been replaced with Utsav in most parts of Europe where the African feed operates. The question boiled down to the potential brand name for Star Life and its programming.

8. Zee Naija
Unlike most other Zee channels, this brand wouldn't cater entirely to repeats as there was a bunch of local content being planned such as Dance Nigeria Dance, Deceptive Measures and The Passion For Love.

 

9. Untitled Star Life movie channel
Unlike Star Gold, the movie channel would have been dubbed in English and would give the main channel sometime to source out other programming.

10. Bollytunes & Zee Music
Remember that TV show that had no purpose to Zee World as the program aired between shows well it was said to have its own channel one for English audiences another for Indian subscribers on DStv.

11. Untitled eMovies channel
eMedia Investments was rumoured to launch a Bollywood pop-up channel for movies before the pandemic hit and there's been no updates in that regard except that the possibility of a third movie channel.

 

12. Zindagi
Zindagi was the name of a brand Zee Entertainment Enterprises gave to their regional offering. What this channel did was air regional content kind of like the African adaptation of Mehek but it could have been scrapped as the brand is not active.

13. Zee Zest
Zee Zest is a Hindi entertainment channel operated by Zee Entertainment Enterprises and compared to all other channels on the list this one airs lifestyle and reality shows. It was said to launch on DStv Indian when it was known as Living Foodz.

 

14. Zee World and Zee One's replacements
The parent company of the channels are minority owners of the brands and rumour had it that the brands would include more content from Sony Pictures India as well as adapt to Sony branding.

15. Zee News (likely scrapped)
Zee News is a Hindi news channel operated by Essel Group that is also in charge of another news station on DStv, WION.

16. Zee Oldies
A channel for older dramas in the 90s to early 00s
