NBCUniversal launched Universal Kids four years ago with content aimed at 2 to 11 year olds ranging from DreamWorks Animation, unscripted entertainment, live action shows and international programming. Since launch, the channel has seen a significant decrease in viewership with IndieWire reporting a 30% decline in 2017, followed by a 73% drop in 2018. With the channel pulling roughly 36000 viewers as it slowly gains more viewers. Just like Universal TV in the U.S. Despite its poor viewership, Universal Kids was able to launch in Asia making it the first international market to have a Universal Kids on top of DreamWorks Channel where some of its content is seen. ViacomCBS said its ViacomCBS Networks International has clinched a deal to acquire a majority stake in Spanish language content producer, Fox TeleColombia & Estudios TeleMexico from Disney and the company’s founding family. ViacomCBS International Studios, a division of VCNI, will operate Fox TeleColombia & Estudios TeleMexico as a collaborative partnership with the founders. Financial terms weren’t released. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions. Through this transaction, VCNI will gain access to Fox TeleColombia & Estudios TeleMexico’s studio operations in both Colombia and Mexico, as well as many hours of library content, which is comprised of multifaceted entertainment spanning multiple key genres including premium series, telenovelas, films, documentaries, unscripted, kids and family, branded and digital content and live sports shows produced for various audiences. November looks to be the forefront of new telenovelas from eMedia's stable. Earlier in the month, it was announced that the Indian drama The Heir alongside the Afrikaans dubbed Turkish drama Wrede Stad will make their way to eExtra. Apparently, there's a new international Emmy nominated action drama making their way to eMedia's streaming service eVOD titled Die Put. Die Put (Çukur), run by a noble mafia family called Koçovali. When the family is in danger of losing control over The Put. Their youngest son must return to his home where he could never escape. Since its publication, Die Put has been among the most complained works on TV. RTÜK imposed administrative fines on the channel where the series was broadcast due to scenes of armed conflict, fear, violence and torture. With that in mind, eMedia will likely have to air it weekdays at 21:30 on eExtra or 23:00 through e.tv seeing that none of the shows allocated there air in the daytime meaning no lawsuit.

The South African Broadcasting Corporation through SABC Sport is pleased to announce an exciting multiyear television broadcast rights agreement with the National Basketball Association (NBA). As part of the partnership, SABC Sport will air more than 35 games throughout the season, including a Christmas game, NBA All-star Saturday Night, Conference Finals and The Finals, broadcast live or delayed, on SABC 1 and The SABC Sport Channel on DTT, TelkomOne and Openview. In addition the SABC will host a weekly magazine show "NBA Action" which covers the league's news and highlights. The first live broadcast will kick off with a pre-game live studio presentation at 22:30 on Saturday, 30 October. Earlier in the month, it was announced through several media outlets that WION would make their way to DStv later this month which might have been pushed to November. Not only that Zee Cinema which is currently available on StarTimes might make their way to the pay-tv giant as they've seemingly started testing out the channel. Later this week, Disney and Star in India announced that they would exit from the English general entertainment industry which resulted in the termination of most of their channels with Hindi channels taking their spot. The Walt Disney Company revealed plans to close 100 international Disney channels before the FY22 with more Disney Channels expected to close in Europe as streaming looks to be the brands top priority. The likely reason for Star's demise is due to Disney+ since The Walt Disney Company took the Star branding for their streaming service so Star India keeping it for English viewers would only cause confusion. Earlier this year, the UK & Europe rebranded their Star channels to Utsav with the changes applicable to viewers of those regions. Of course, there's several signs that the branding will be duplicated in more countries. Similar to StarTimes that restarted Timeless Dizi Channel, TLNovelas is seemingly hitting the rewind button on weekdays later in November when The Power Of Destiny, The Tempest and My Sweet Curse reach their climax.
