New animated adventure series P.J. Masks comes to Disney Junior this month, launching on Monday 16th May at 18:00.

In these fun-filled shows six year olds Connor, Amaya and Greg are ordinary school kids, but when something goes wrong in their city, they don their pyjamas and become P.J. Masks – superheroes Catboy, Gekko and Owlette. Each has a special talent, and together they can tackle any problem, solve mysteries, and also learn valuable lessons. In the series launch episode Gekko and the Super Ninjalinos/Owlette's Terrible Pterodactyl Trouble (Monday 16th May at 18:00) Night Ninja steals sports kit for his Ninjalinos, and Romeo takes a pterodactyl model and turns it into a flying robot!

This great new series launches on Monday 16th May at 18:00, and continues with premiere episodes on weekdays at the same time until Friday 27th May.

Guess who has popped up to help Sofia with her latest problem? Not a Disney princess as usual. Instead it’s none other than Olaf, the crazy snowman from Disney’s mega hit movie Frozen!

Olaf turns up in the second episode of the story arc The Secret Library on Saturday 7th May at 09:00 In Olaf and the Tale of Miss Nettle when Sofia's amulet summons Olaf instead of a princess, the two set off to stop Miss Nettle from stealing the snowdrop flowers from Freezenberg!

Sofia the First and the Secret Library: Olaf and the Tale of Miss Nettle premieres on Saturday 7th May at 09:00.

In Pinnochio-it is/The Clubhouse that Jack Built (Saturday 14th May at 12:00) Goldie catches a case of Pinocchio-it is, making her nose grow, and Bear tries to join a club that is exclusively for those named Jack.

Then catch new Captain Jake and the Never Land Pirates at 10:00 each Saturday as Jake continues his quest on the Great Never Sea.

Our great new series Backstage launches on Disney Channel on Monday 16th May at 17:00.

This lively docu-drama chronicles the lives of a group of 12 outstandingly talented teenagers as they live through the highs and lows of attending the prestigious Keaton School of the Arts. Follow them throughout the academic year as their experiences range from worry and disappointment to new friendships and crowning achievements.

In the series launch episode The First Day (Monday 16th May at 17:00) best friends and fellow dancers, Vanessa and Carly, embark on their first day at this prestigious school for the performing and visual arts Keaton School of the Arts and find themselves in direct competition. Meanwhile singer Alya struggles with stage fright.

Season two of the wonderfully weird and wacky animated series Gravity Falls reaches its climax with the two final episodes of four part story arc Weirdmageddon on Thursday 5th May from 18:15.

In this double episode length special, which contains the third and fourth part of the Weirdmageddon story arc, Weirdmageddon has descended on Gravity Falls. Ford discovers Bill's true motives and a final confrontation with him leads to the Pines family's ultimate fate and greatest sacrifice.

Parts three and four of the story arc Weirdmageddon,  which make up the season two finale of Gravity Falls, premiere on Disney Channel on Thursday 5th May from 18:15.

There’s a celebrity and music-packed treat in store for Disney Channel viewers in May, with the premiere of the programme featuring the Radio Disney Music Awards 2016 – the kids’ biggest awards show for music – on Friday 27th May at 17:25.

These awards honour the year's achievements in music and are based on popular votes from the network's listeners via online voting. Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Adele, Shawn Mendes and One Direction are among the top nominees for the 2016. Fans all around the world have voted for their favourite artists in categories including The Bestest – Song of the Year, The Buzz – Breakout Artist of the Year and That's My Jam – Best Anthem. Last year, over 101 million votes were cast, including more than five million votes from international fans.

As a special treat leading into the awards, Disney Channel has hand-picked some of the best musical episodes of such popular shows as Austin & Ally, Liv and Maddie,  Jessie,  Hannah Montana and Violetta. VILLAGE VETS PREMIERE

Vets James and Anthony are back with more extraordinary  tales of caring for the animals of Berry, Shoalhaven Heads,  and Kangaroo Valley, in southern New South Wales. The  practice they co-run is in a small Australian town but they  treat a colourful mix of patients, from everyday cats, dogs  and farm animals to exotic pets and local wildlife such as  echidnas and sugar gliders. They even treat their own pets,  which brings a very different set of challenges. The action at  the practice picks up as the team welcomes plucky new  addition Chris, fresh from university – as well as a very  different, and far more exciting, kind of new arrival for
James. In ‘Village Vets’ the animals, the practice and the people take centre stage in a series that
celebrates Australian country life in all its feathered, furry and scaly glory.

TANKED PREMIERE

‘Tanked’ returns to follow business partners, best friends and  constant rivals Wayde King and Brett Raymer as they navigate  the murky depths of aquarium design. The guys are at the reins of the USA’s largest aquarium manufacturing company, Acrylic Tank Manufacturing (ATM) and it's going with a splash. This  series, they face even more incredible design challenges. NBA  All-Star John Wall requests an aquarium shaped like a pair of  dice, and Chicago Bulls star Jimmy Butler wants to make sweet  music with an old-school boombox aquarium that lights up and  plays music. Brett and Wayde must design and build a custom  tank for the founder of famed R&B group Boyz II Men. Plus, who will win as Wayde and Brett engage  in the first ever Tank Off? 'Jackass' creator Jeff Tremaine returns to award the most badass tank.

LIFE AFTER: CHERNOBYL PREMIERE

‘Life After: Chernobyl’ explores the worst nuclear catastrophe in history, which sent a plume of highly radioactive fallout  exploding into the atmosphere - 100 times the combined  radiation emission from the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs. Two scientists have now been allowed total access to the area  surrounding the infamous Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Biologist Rob Nelson and anthropologist Mary-Ann Ochota are the first scientists to be permitted unlimited access to the Chernobyl danger zone, to investigate how the environment  and wildlife have been affected after 30 years in the most  contaminated area on earth. They can stay for as long as they need to conduct their research, but  must ensure the radiation exposure to their bodies does not reach unacceptably high levels. What  they discover about the effects of high radiation doses on animal and plant life in the region is  astonishing.
