Development Alert: eMedia Investments Acquired Broadcasting Rights To Turkish Drama Yalı Çapkını, Debuts This December On eVOD As Blink Kant Bo!

Last year, Eccho Rights the international distributor of Yalı Çapkını (Blink Kant Bo!) had launched the Turkish drama at MIPCOM. The highly anticipated new title is the latest from the creators of hit series (viewed on eExtra and SABC 3) such as My Home My Destiny (Verdeelde Liefde), The Red Room, and Kamdaki Kiz (Chrysalis).

Halis Ağa is the owner of a large jewellery empire and the head of the Korhan family. Even though his son Orhan and oldest grandson Fuat run most of the business, he still makes the most important decisions in the company. His younger grandson Ferit, who is the total opposite of his brother Fuat, is a very irresponsible young bachelor who just returned from abroad where he went to study. Halis can’t take anymore of Ferit’s recklessness and he charges his widowed daughter-in-law Ifakat with finding him a nice girl to marry.

The news that Halis Ağa is looking for a bride for his grandson, comes like a bolt from the blue into Kazım’s mansion in Gaziantep. Kazım’s only hope to get rich are his beautiful daughters, Suna and Seyran. After Ifakat sees Suna and decides she is the right girl for Ferit, the family goes to Gaziantep to ask for Suna’s hand in marriage. But before the ceremony, Ferit and Seyran meet each other without realizing that they are supposed to become brother and sister-in-law, and Ferit is enamored by her.

The two sisters’ lives change forever when Ferit decides to marry Seyran instead of Suna. While Kazım is glad that he has secured his access to a great fortune, Seyran will be the new bride in a family full of betrayals, lies and secrets. Boing is coming to South Africa

During the week, Warner Bros. Discovery and StarTimes unveiled 4 new channels for consumers, Investigation Discovery, TLC and Discovery Channel, with Boing missing from the pay-tv company's line-up for consumers in Southern Africa.

In a response from PR, it was revealed that they are currently in the process of seeking approval from ICASA for the acquisition of broadcasting rights for Boing. Only then we'll they issue a formal announcement until the channel the channel will rollout in the rest of Africa.

Boing is a children's channel which takes up the DNA of Nicktoons by featuring various archived material and content viewed on Cartoon Network and Cartoonito. Some shows to have been seen on the channel include Ben 10 (2005), Dexter's Laboratory and Adventure Time.

Play Room: Magic On The Menu At Launch Event For SA's Newest 24 Hour Children's Channel + First Look At New Local Youth Show

South Africa's newest 24 hour children's channel will be firing up the fun at the Prison Break Market in Johannesburg on Saturday, when Play Room, the new home of children's education and entertainment on DStv channel 300, hosts a fantasy launch event featuring the world's youngest DJ, DJ Arch Jnr and musicians Pabi Cooper and Focalistic.

Guests including A-listers of the teen scene, kid influencers, media and TV personalities will be treated to a "fun factory" hosted by "fun scientist", entertainer, dancer and musician Robot Boii. They can look forward to an experience packed with magic, music and discovery at the event, inspired by the simple joy of child's play.

Play Room goes live at 3pm from 6 November, kicking off with the channel's flagship show, Play Room Live! - a multilingual live studio show which brings a fresh cohort of youthful talent to the screen. Presenters include Thando Madondo, Thato Benani, Paballo Koza, Shudu Mathagwa, Kgaohelo Moloi, Ipeleng Malepe and sign language interpreter Kanya Msweli making their debuts.

Play Room will combine education and entertainment in a uniquely local package carrying original South African and popular international content, including favourite animated titles dubbed into isiZulu, such as CoComelon and Akili And Me.

• Undercover Love (Jagaddhatri)

It tells the story of an orphan girl Jagaddhatri and a rich boy who both are friends and are crime officers. Jagaddhatri is a secret crime branch officer but no one knows her real identity. Filmed in Bengali, the series starred Ankita Mallick as Jagaddhatri Mukherjee and Soumyadeep Mukherjee as Suryanath Mukherjee.

• Dholi Beats (Geet Dholi)

It follows a female dhol player, struggles to make her mark in a male-dominated profession. However, with her husband's support, she tries to overcome the hurdles in her path. Based on the Bengali series Jamuna Dhaki and filmed in Punjabi, the series starred Gurpreet Kaur as Geet and Anmol Gupta as Malhar.

• The Rules Of Love (Maitree)

Maitree and Nandini are best friends since childhood but when they grow up, Maitree feels betrayed by Nandini due to some unknown reasons and a rift gets created between the friendship of the duo. It starred Shrenu Parikh as Maitree Tiwari and Samarth Jurel as Harsh Tiwari.

• Twist Of Fate 9 (Kumkum Bhagya)

Takes place a year after the first season, Meet believed to have died is actually alive. She is in the form of Manjari Desai who hails from Vadodara to find her baby. She is all set to take seek revenge from Manushi, Kunal and Masoom for taking away her family, husband and child. It starred Ashi Singh as Meet Hooda Sangwan and Shagun Pandey as Meet Ahlawat.

New Channel Alert: BOING Extends Its Reach To StarTimes And Possible StarSat Platforms Across Africa

Yesterday, it was reported that Warner Bros. Discovery and StarTimes had reached a new agreement which would see Investigation Discovery and TLC relaunch on the platform with Discovery Channel set to rollout as a new addition to the platform.

Now it has been revealed by sources that StarTimes will be rolling out their 6th TV channel from the brand, Boing.

Boing is a children's channel which takes up the DNA of Nicktoons by featuring various archived material and content viewed on Cartoon Network and Cartoonito. Some shows to have been seen on the channel include Ben 10 (2005), Dexter's Laboratory and Adventure Time.

The channel formed part of a showcase which saw one of Warner's classic brands Boomerang get reimagined as Cartoonito. It was also outlined at the time that Boing had seen a rise in popularity despite not being added to DStv had fan favorites like Clarence and Uncle Grandpa.

It is set to go live alongside the other Warner channels later today on channels 301/354 and it's currently unknown if the channel would be added in South Africa as StarSat hadn't mentioned anything. But as seen in ROA, Boing might be replacing Nickelodeon in the regions.
