June 2025 On Studio Universal Across Africa | Action Weekend With Tom Cruise | Father's Day Stunt With Bad Boys | More

Action Weekend–“See Tom Run!”
Fri 6th June – Sun 8th June @ 8pm
At the end of May, the Mission: Impossible franchise comes to a close in cinemas, so what better time to
feature a Tom Cruise triple-bill?

May, obviously, but the first weekend of June is the next best thing!

Mission: Impossible III
6th June at 20:00
J.J. Abrams made his directorial debut with this breathless adventure, in which Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) goes after Owen Davian, an arms dealer who prefers to lurk in the shadows. Unfortunately for Hunt, Davian proves to be a more than tricky adversary, and before long the IMF agent’s personal life is inextricably entwined with his dangerous day job. Philip Seymour Hoffman sparkles as a suitably wicked Davian, while Ving Rhames, Michelle Monaghan and Billy Crudup are among the supporting cast.

Mission: Impossible–Fallout
7th June at 20:00
The sixth entry in the action franchise sees Ethan Hunt deal with two baddies hell-bent on destroying the world. Once again, terrorist Solomon Lane is causing trouble along with extremist John Lark, planning to blow up the world with not one but three nuclear weapons. Hunt assembles Luther and Benji to thwart the villain’s scheme, little realising the complex web of lies he and his team are about to enter. Tom Cruise leads the starry cast, which includes Henry Cavill and Vanessa Kirby.

War of the Worlds
8th June at 20:00
Director Steven Spielberg brings H.G. Wells’ fantastic Victorian novel to a 21st-century audience. Down-atheel dad Ray Ferrier is distracted from his grumpy day-to-day routine after a series of alien crafts lands on Earth. Sadly, the tripod machines that emerge don’t come in peace, and Ray – along with the rest of humanity – is forced to think on his feet to ensure he and his estranged family survive. Tom Cruise stars alongside Dakota Fanning, with support from Miranda Otto and Tim Robbins.

How to Train Your Dragon 2
14th June at 16:45
Hiccup, Toothless and their pals are back for the second instalment of the animated series. Life is good in the village of Berk, where the Vikings and dragons live together peacefully. That is, until they learn about Drago Bludvist, a violent warlord who wants to create a dragon army and conquer the world. But when Hiccup and Toothless go in search of Bludvist, they instead encounter someone much stranger. With the voices of Jay Baruchel, Cate Blanchett, Djimon Hounsou and Kit Harrington.

Father’s Day
15th June from 6pm
We have a lot of films featuring beleaguered fathers (?!) including Pokemon and Problem Child. Three of them feature channel favourite Martin Lawrence.

College Road Trip
15th June at 18:00
Martin Lawrence and Raven-Symoné star in this rollicking comedy. Melanie has chosen to attend a college hundreds of miles away from home. Unfortunately, her overprotective dad, who also happens to be a cop, thinks he can use the journey to make her see she can still achieve her dreams without going so far away – and to ensure Melanie stays on the straight and narrow. Cue a host of family-friendly dad-and-daughter scrapes and capers. Kim Whitley and Brenda Song co-star.

Bad Boys
15th June at 19:30
In the first instalment of the action-comedy franchise, Martin Lawrence and Will Smith play respective detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey. The two are horrified after millions of dollars’ worth of heroin they recovered from a robbery is stolen from under their noses. Burnett and Lowrey have just three days to get it back before the narcotics division is shut down. But what should be an easy job soon turns out to be more complicated – and to hit closer to home – than they ever imagined.

Bad Boys II
15th June at 21:35
When Miami is flooded with the drug ecstasy, detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey (Martin Lawrence and Will Smith) are called on to stem the flow, in this action sequel directed by Michael Bay. However, the trail leads to a Cuban smuggler who is also mixed up in a violent clash between Haitian and Russian criminal gangs. As if that wasn’t enough to keep them busy, Lowrey is also dating Burnett’s sister, leading to tension between the two. Jordi Molla and Gabrielle Union are among the cast.

Problem Child 2
15th June at 14:25
John Ritter and Michael Oliver are back in the sequel to the original comedy. Trying to make a fresh start in a new town, divorcé Ben Healy (Ritter) has his hands full beating off women who see him as a good catch. Meanwhile, Junior (Oliver) also has girl trouble in the form of Trixie Young (Ivyann Schwan). She may only be little but it turns out she has a big attitude problem. Brian Levant makes his directorial debut, while Ritter’s real-life wife Amy Yasbeck and Jack Warden co-star.
