Rumour: The Highly Anticipated Series Roekeloos Dade To Debut On e.tv Instead Of eExtra As Advised

For several months, there's a mishap of information shared amongst consumers one of which had to do with Annekan Die Swa Kry or Roekeloos Dade. First announced in February, the series was set to replace #DisComplicated on eExtra now it's Om Elke Draai.

The other issue has to do with the Afrikaans title for the series as sources still regard it as Roekeloos Dade while others Annekan Die Swa Kry both might be different shows but at this point the only accurate thing at the moment is the Turkish title, Hayat Sarkisi.

Following the announcement of Om Elke Draai's launch on eExtra, several consumers had been curious as to what fate awaits, Roekeloos Dade. So no it's not going to streaming not that it would be a bad thing as it would be available on eExtra but instead it's going to e.tv.

Daai Crazy Somer Season 2 rolls out on the channel in the coming weeks and interesting to note almost similar to Verdeelde Liefde. Both seasons have a much shorter duration or at least from what sources mention in regards to the matter.

Taking matters to account, Om Elke Draai will launch on eExtra from April 26 replacing #DisComplicated and whatever Hayat Sarkisi is referred to either Annekan Die Swa Kry or very likely Roekeloos Dade that would replace Daai Crazy Somer from May 17.

Still curious on the two titles maybe it's for two different series. In other developments, a rebroadcast of Telemundo's Santa Diabla rolls out on the eExtra channel later in the month.

re details about the reported Hayat Sarkisi:

Based on the Korean drama Flames of Desire, Roekeloos Dade follows Hulia, a poor girl who pretends to be strong, aims to make enough money to help her sibling pursue her studies and lead a decent life despite all the challenges they face.

It stars Burcu Biricik as Hülya Çamoğlu Cevher, Birkan Sokullu as Kerim Cevher, Tayanç Ayaydın as Hüseyin Cevher, Ecem Özkaya as Melek Çamoğlu Cevher, Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan as Bayram Cevher, Seray Gözler as Süheyla Cevher and Deniz Hamzaoğlu as Kaya.

Daai Crazy Somer Returns For Second Season In The Coming Weeks

Daai Crazy Somer (Son Yaz) is a Turkish drama series that rolled out earlier in the year on e.tv. The series is owned by FOX home to various shows currently viewed on eMedia's platforms including Doodsondes, Om Elke Draai, Dokter Ali and #DisComplicated.

Currently seen weekdays at 17:30 on e.tv, the first season draws to a close on 21 April with a shorter second season expected to follow immediately after from April 24.

Summary to season 2

Selim continues his life alone in Rize. He lives away from his children, reality, and everything, and does not even speak properly with Yagmur and Altay, who live in Istanbul. Selim's retreat will be interrupted by a surprise visitor. Akgün, on the other hand, is on the run. But every escape has an end. And that end is very close for Akgün. Akgün will enter into a great bargain for his father's life and this bargain will change Akgün's life forever.

The series stars Alperen Duymaz as Akgun Gokalp Taskin, Ali Atay as Prosecutor Selim Kara, Funda Eryigit as Canan Kara, Hafsanur Sancaktutan as Yagmur Kara, Birce Akalay as Sare Akay, Sinan Tuzcu as Metin Yaman and Sebnem Donmez as Serap Gok.

In other developments, Die Put is expected to return in the coming month to eExtra alongside a brand new series Om Elke Draai and the highly anticipated, Roekeloos Dade.

Schedule Alert: Telemundo To Make A Comeback On eExtra With A Rebroadcast Of Broken Angel Aka Santa Diabla

Two years ago, eMedia Investments halt distribution of Portuguese telenovelas from across their brands for Asian, Indian and Turkish dramas as they've proved to be favourable amongst consumers. Now Broken Angel (Santa Diabla) will be rolling out on eExtra.

Broken Angel served as one of the initial offering and also the first telenovela to rollout when eKasi+ was phased out for eExtra. In an attempt to bolster their entertaining offering the channel offered a range of content from drama series, reality shows and movies.

As seen later in the week, Broken Angel is set to make a comeback to the channel. It follows the story of Santa Martínez, a woman who seeks revenge for the murder of her husband Willy Delgado. Hired as a pianist at the Cano residence was falsely accused of rape.

Blaming the Canos for the unjust death of her husband, Santa intends to destroy the Cano family, but as she tries to complete her mission, she meets and falls in love with Santiago Cano, the black sheep of the Cano family.

Broken Angel debuted in the United States back in 2013 on Telemundo with a total of 136 episodes and featured the talents of Gaby Espino, Aaron Diaz, Carlos Ponce, Vasilis Milos, Ximena Duque and Gilda Haddock.

The series rolls out on the channel in the coming weeks or in this case from April 18 while as the channel welcomes newcomer, Om Elke Draai.

Last Minute Notice: Om Elke Draai Now Scheduled To Launch On eExtra In The Coming Weeks With Annekan Die Swa Kry Supposedly Delayed

During the year, eMedia Investments unveiled upcoming attractions for Kuiertyd including Die Put S8, Doodsondes S5, Aşk Mantık İntikam (working title), Om Elke Draai, Ramo, Hart Van Goud and Annekan Die Swa Kry (initially titled Roekeloos Dade).

In February, two titles were announced for the eExtra channel Hart Van Goud and Annekan Die Swa Kry of which one Hart Van Goud managed to debut as originally promised after Verdeelde Liefde while the other Annekan Die Swa Kry has quietly left the lineup.

First teased as Roekeloos Dade, the series was meant to be replace #DisComplicated from April 26 and as seen a few hours ago that's no longer the case here as official pages start promoting Om Elke Draai (Her Yerde Sen) which is currently streaming on eVOD.

As for Annekan Die Swa Kry, it's possible the series will launch at a later stage I mean at this point in time I wouldn't be shocked if it were to be made available to eVOD before even airing on eExtra if eVOD was willing to offer Die Put S3 prior to its launch on eExtra.

Details about eExtra's last minute addition:

Om Elke Draai follows the story of a young man who buys a small architect company which is about to go bankrupt and buys his childhood house but eventually ends up sharing his house with his employee.

It stars Furkan Andic, Aybuke Pusat, Ali Yagci, Aslihan Malbora, Ali Gozusirin, Deniz Isin, Ali Barkin, Fatih Ozkan, Cem Cucenoglu, Ayfet Tokatli, Ayse Tunaboylu, Binnur Serbetcioglu, Aziz Caner Inan and Beste Kokdemir.

Recap To The Year: The Future Of eToonz, eMovies, eMovies Extra And eExtra On DStv Will Likely Be Unveiled In The Coming Weeks

In 2017, eMedia Investments expanded their partnership with MultiChoice to include general entertainment channel eExtra, two movie channels eMovies and eMovies Extra and kiddies channel eToonz and since last year that all went to hell.

MultiChoice attempted to replicate the offering with kykNET & Kie's international telenovela slate alongside the additions of DreamWorks and Movie Room. Since then, the pay-tv company had been ordered to keep these channels onboard their platforms for 6 months.

Considering these channels were reinstated no later than August 2022 it means the channels were meant to go dark before the end of the previous financial year which is 31 March 2023 but few days into the next financial year they're still aboard.

If we had guess it's possible MultiChoice extended the agreement for these 4 channels past the 6 month cutoff date I mean the idea wouldn't be far fetched. From what is known from reps, these channels aren't permanent but they don't disclose when they're going dark either.

So it's possible that eMedia's 4 channels were being put on a trial run on MultiChoice's DStv platform to see which channel has a bigger impact on consumer's viewing habits and it's also possible that they're looking at ways to properly depose of these channels.

Compared to eExtra, all other e.tv channels supply a lot of rehashed content from DStv something the mentioned platform has been trying to reduce over the years with Magic Showcase and CineMagic being accessible to Easyview with kykNET Lekker on Access.

While as top level consumers such as Premium, Compact+ and Compact have access to a variety of channels such as Mzansi Magic, BBC Brit, kykNET, kykNET NOU! and several others.

As for eExtra, it's possible the pay-tv platform wants to limit the amount of dubbed programming. These programming have grown successful over the years so it's possible that similar to ITV Choice on M-Net they'd rather incorporate this on kykNET & Kie.

I mean the limitation of dubbed programming on DStv has been speculated for sometime now after the platform opted not to renew their agreement with Canal+ SPI International for the Turkish channel Timeless Dizi Channel and CJ E&M for Korean channel tvN.

All in all, it's possible that all the channels might go dark in the coming months as MultiChoice had sought out several channels for the affected consumers Access and Easyview including Movie Room, BBC UKTV, CineMagic, Moonbug Kids and Magic Showcase.

It's also very much possible that selected channels could remain onboard such as eExtra for instance as there's less duplication in terms of content but more in terms of dubs.

Recap To The Month: Starsat Welcomes Replacement To FOX, DreamWorks, Investigation Discovery, Real Time And More

For several years, StarSat has lost out on a variety of channels including FOX, Discovery Family, Soul Music, TLNovelas, Tshwane TV and OnseTV. Not long ago, the pay-tv platform unveiled 4 channels: FilmBox Action, CBS Reality, CBS Justice and Kartoon Channel.

In 2021, The Walt Disney Company ceased distribution of the general entertainment brand, FOX. Home to shows now seen on Disney+ Star such as How I Met Your Mother, The Walking Dead which recently made its freemium debut on eXposed and The Simpsons.

FilmBox Action (channel 140) is a channel dedicated to the action genre basically catering to the same target audience and group as FOX with classic Hollywood films, spectacular series from the US, Europe, and Asia, and modern heart-pounding blockbusters.

Following FOX's demise is Warner Bros. Discovery's factual and lifestyle offering including Discovery Family, Fine Living, Discovery Science, Real Time and Investigation Discovery part of which still remain on DStv while others are viewed on other African platforms.

CBS Reality (channel 170) offers captivating television guaranteed to shock and entertain. It features one of the most beloved TV personalities, the queen of the courtroom herself: Judge Judy. Other great shows include the ever-popular Cheaters.

CBS Justice (channel 222) is for true-crime lovers. Nothing is scarier than a true story, and this channel has some of the best: from glamourous offences by the rich and famous to passion killings by the guy next door. Both CBS channels make up for these 5 brands.

Lastly, DreamWorks owned by NBCUniversal was scrapped from the platform after two years and at the time pay-tv platform was on a cutting spree. Of course, there's was no reason for the sudden dismal all that is known is it's existence through the DStv platform.

Kartoon Channel (channel 304) entertains kids aged two to ten. Wonderfully entertaining children’s shows are played daily, with family-friendly movies over the weekends. From Stan Lee’s Superhero Kindergarten and Angry Birds to Peppa Pig.

Compared to the likes of DStv, StarSat implemented a price freeze meaning consumers will recieve more entertainment at the exact same price on top of a reward incentive for loyal Special Package subscribers wishing to upgrade to Super.

To help bolster the value of StarSat’s mid-tier offering, StarSat will be graduating four channels to the Super Package: Manchester United TV (channel 252), Real Madrid TV (channel 254), MSNBC (channel 263), and Fashion TV Africa (channel 282).

Despite the efforts, StarSat wasn't prepared to have their feed of Russia Today cut off joining another channel which went dark on the platform in 2023, Glow TV. The pay-tv platform hopes to welcome more channels in the current financial year.

During the week, eMedia Investments alongside Zee Entertainment Enterprises and Disney Star unveiled two channels for the Openview pay-tv service, Zee Family and Star Select. The channel features a variety of content ranging from drama series, movies and reality.

Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Kei follows Chikoo, a young girl, loses everything when she gets separated from her mother, Nupur. However, with an inborn skill of dancing, Chikoo remains determined to reunite with her long-lost mother.

The series stars Simran Tomar as Payal "Chikoo/Ishq" Joshi, Paridhi Sharma as Nupur Joshi, Lakshay Khurana as Dhanush Chauhan, Himanshu Malhotra as Milind Joshi, Binda Rawal as Pushpa Khaitan, Punesh Tripathi as Gajak and Geetu Bawa as Alka Chauhan.

Saraswatichandra has been viewed numerous times in the South African region on the defunct Glow TV with the rest of Africa on StarPlus. Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Kei has been viewed through StarPlus and since recieved several adaptations under Disney Star.

The shows in question are expected to rollout on Star Select later in the year.

Recap To The Month: BBC Brit And BBC Earth Merge To Form BBC Nordic, An Enhanced Linear Channel And On-Demand Service, Could This Be The Future Of The Brand In Africa?

This year's most entertaining Valentine's surprise comes with the announcement that BBC Studios will launch BBC Nordic and BBC Nordic+, an enhanced linear channel and dedicated on-demand service for Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish and Icelandic viewers from 17 April 2023.

Linear channel BBC Nordic brings together the very best of BBC BRIT and BBC Earth and will replace them in the current channel mix. BBC Nordic+, a new on-demand service will enable viewers to delve deeper into the BBC shows they enjoy from the linear channel and discover new favourites.

With a long-standing history in the five Nordic market, the new channel and on-demand service have been borne out of research into local audiences tastes and the content they most enjoy. They will offer a tailored line up of the brightest factual and feel-good entertainment series from the BBC, making it easier for Nordic audiences to find their favourite programmes and to discover new shows.

Spring will be even more interesting and colourful with expanded content mix on BBC Nordic. New series of much loved factual and factual entertainment programming that aired on BBC BRIT and BBC Earth such as QI, The Graham Norton Show and Life Below Zero, will be joined by new programmes for the channel such as The Great British Bake Off along with the return of Serengeti for a third season.

Among the programmes that will be available on BBC Nordic at launch is the latest series from the multi-award winning documentary maker Louis Theroux - Louis Theroux Interviews... which sees Louis get up close and personal with the UK's biggest stars such as singer Rita Ora and actress Dame Judi Dench in the way only he can. Serengeti III will transport viewers to the heart of Tanzania to get lost in the adventures and perils of the iconic wildlife trying the navigate a land on the brink of change.

Lifestyle and entertainment programming will also form an important part of the channel offering with iconic series The Great British Bake Off (S10) being new to the channel alongside feel-good shows such as The Great Pottery Throwdown, a battle of the clay which sees 12 home potters compete to become champion, and DIY SOS which follows friends, family and local trades transform the homes of deserving families across Britain. Viewers of BBC Nordic can also look forward to new episodes of popular entertainment series coming to the channel in the following months - Live at the Apollo, The Graham Norton Show, QI, Pointless and The Weakest Link.

Dedicated on-demand service BBC Nordic+ will enable viewers to delve deeper into the BBC content they enjoy from the BBC Nordic channel and discover new favourites at the touch of a button. New content has been curated around topics such as arts and culture, travel, history, documentaries and music. In April this will include pioneering documentary series from Public Enemy frontman Chuck D - Fight the Power: How Hip Hop Changed the World. In the new 4-part series Chuck D leads a cast of Hip Hop icons from Ice-T to Run DMC to Eminem to tell the definitive story of how hip hop emerged from the ashes of the Bronx in the 70s to become a global force for change today.

Last year, BBC Studios unveiled plans to become an online only service which led to the cutback of content spending and the folding of the BBC World News brand into BBC News. The idea of BBC Earth possibly folding under BBC Brit wouldn't be a far fetched idea particularly for African consumers.

BBC Brit and since last year BBC UKTV had supplied selected content from BBC Earth for sometime as the channel in question is currently viewed as a premium channel for which the consumer base had been struggling due to inflation and domination of streaming.

Taking to account that BBC Earth can only be viewable in South Africa, it wouldn't be far fetched if this was the first TV channel that BBC Studios opts to cease distribution in the market. As mentioned, the whole premium base of DStv is struggling same goes for most of the offering on that package.

On top of BBC undergoing a similar route as The Walt Disney Company in halting most if not all their linear operations seen globally.

Could Courage The Cowardly Dog Be Revived As A Preschool Series?

Courage The Cowardly Dog follows the titular character, a dog who lives with an elderly couple in ppa farmhouse in the middle of "Nowhere". In each episode, the trio is thrown into bizarre, frequently disturbing, and often paranormal or supernatural adventures.

In 2018, John R. Dilworth was in negotiations with Boomerang for a revival or prequel series titled Before Courage. It was going to revolve around the titular character's days as a puppy or before he meet his owners, Muriel and her husband Eustace Bagge.

When asked about the project in 2020, Dilworth responded that it had been "transformed into another thing". A year later, Dilworth revealed that the project was on turnaround as Cartoon Network's management is prioritizing their focus on other projects.

But from what we can understand in this scenario, something regarding Courage The Cowardly Dog is in development maybe a new series or a film.

Maybe this new form is probably a reboot of Courage The Cowardly Dog geared toward preschoolers. I mean the idea doesn't seem far fetched considering the main will be a puppy Cartoon Network would probably want it to cater for younger audiences.

Then this prequel would lead to feature film or another series more aligned with Courage The Cowardly Dog who knows really. All that is known at this point is that something related to this is in the works and might be unveiled by 2023 or probably 2024.

In other developments, Man Of Action has been working on its next iteration of the Ben 10 franchise following the cancellation of the Ben 10 reboot. It's been two years since there's been any update on the project it's likely being reworked on as something else.
