Kamer 309 Coming Soon To eExtra

2021 promises to be a productive year for the Afrikaans block Kuiertyd on eExtra. They will be introducing a Turkish telenovela to the lineup called Kamer 309 (No. 309).

Out of pure coincidence, Onur and Lale meet at the same place due to a blind date that is arranged by their mothers. And during the next morning they find themselves in the same bed. The series stars Demet Özdemir and Furkan Palalı.

The series made its debut on the Turkish FOX Channel on 1 June 2016, and concluded on 25 October 2017.

The series will air later in April replacing Begeertes my guess would be either 6 or 12 April. There's no news yet on the exact date and timeslot but hopefully they'll confirm very soon.

Boomerang Africa's Tom And Jerry Start March On A Brand-New Slate…And The Chase Is On!

If you thought that 81 years of cat and mouse games, catch-me-if-you-can and relentless pursuits would have tired this iconic duo out, you’re wrong! As energetic and mischievous as the world has come to know them, Tom and Jerry still have a lot of life in them as they launch into Boomerang Africa from Monday, 8 March with brand-new episodes, and all-new storylines, in season 5 of The Tom and Jerry Show.

The new edition of the series, launched in 2014, is directed by Darrell van Citters (also known for directing the latest version of The Looney Tunes). It is based on the 1940 Tom and Jerry animated cartoon series created by animation pioneers and legends, William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. The characters are simultaneously timeless and timely, as their modern attributes and sense of irreverence are a perfect fit for today’s audiences around the globe. Our beloved frenemies, who love to hate each other, are joined by Spike, Tyke, Tuffy, Butch and other friends in new adventures around the house, and beyond!

Tom and Jerry remains one of the best performing shows on Boomerang Africa and is one of the most significant contributors to the channel’s ratings in the past year. This timeless classic, loved by children and adults across Africa, was once again voted one of the ‘Coolest Cartoon Shows’ by South African youth in the Sunday Times Gen Next Awards, now six years in a row.

To celebrate the release of The Tom & Jerry Movie, a hybrid live action and animated film coming to cinemas in South Africa on 5th March, Boomerang Africa will launch all-new episodes of the current spin-off series on Monday, 8 March, with tune-in Mondays to Fridays @ 08:05 CAT. The new episodes will feature the legendary pair continuing their never-ending chase on a camping trip to canyon country where they get more than they bargained for; then the frenemies end up revelling in Spike’s owner, Rick’s, sleepwalking escapades to the local fast food joint; and Jerry pretends to be a ghost terrorising Tom … until he gets a fright of his own!

In addition, fans will be able to celebrate the public holiday on Monday, 22 March with two Tom and Jerry movies starting 08:05 CAT. Tom and Jerry: The Fast and The Furry follows the duo as they agree (for once!) to enter a race around the world where the winner gets a fancy new house – after wrecking their own home during a chase. The two then accidentally blast off to outer space in Tom and Jerry: Blast off to Mars.

Don’t miss out, join the Boomerang Africa family on weekdays to get your share of the play and laughter from Monday, 8 March on DStv channel 302, at 08:05 CAT.

Watch. Play. Laugh!

As Rumored, Raven Makes Its Debut This March On Timeless Dizi Channel (TDC)

Not long ago, there were rumours that both Timeless Dizi Channel (TDC) and e.tv acquired rights to Raven (Kuzgun) for which neither brand denied or confirmed these rumors. Now TDC will finally give the series the light of day.

Raven, follows Kuzgun's family life when it changes completely as a result of the caliper held against his father, who is a police. Kuzgun will fall into a bondage, pain, anger, and struggle that will last 20 years. Baris Arduç, Burcu Biricik and Hatice Aslan take up the lead roles.

The series airs weekdays at 21:00 CAT/20:00 WAT/22:00 EAT from 8 March replacing The Red Scarf

Please note that The End will make its return I know you're tired of repeats but this one comes as a double bill which is the reason for the timeslot changes.

As Expected, EVA And EVA+ Stop Airing On DStv Later In March

This news doesn't come as a shocker to me I mean since last year both channels hit the repeat button and the only stable thing about the brand was CBS' Bold And The Beautiful.

EVA operated by AMC International launched back in March 2015 as an alternative to Telemundo offering Portuguese telenovelas from companies that didn't have a platform within the market. Two years later they launched EVA+ for those outside South Africa.

Now both of them are set to go off/shut down on March 22nd at 23:59 CAT I was expecting March 31st but this part makes sense since it launched mid March. EVA+ was probably given an open window as that one launched in October.

According to MultiChoice, they no longer have broadcasting rights to the channel and told fans to look out for more novela channels (likely tvN).

So even though EVA and EVA+ will be shutting down and won't be replaced you can find some of its shows on TLNovelas with Telemundo having a similar offering. MultiChoice will likely expand the alternatives to even include Timeless Dizi Channel (TDC), tvN (as mentioned earlier) and Novela Magic.

So basically these channels which I theorized would go off air since last year became the first batch of channels to fly out the window on DStv in 2021.

MultiChoice hasn't bothered to answered viewers on the fate of Bold And The Beautiful I wouldn't be shocked if it surfaced on another channel likely an M-Net channel.
