More Insidus Games And An Update To Social Media Links

(new features for desktop users)
This past week, readers may have noticed that I uploaded the popular java game Johnny Bravo's Big Babe Adventure to android devices. As stated in the new features, the plan is to expand from my initial offering.

If you look up on the Insidus site, I took off the site's description as it doesn't co-ordinate with this new offering I have planned.

Games is the 1st of few plans I have for this site. At some point, I could conduct some reviews and quiet frankly recommend some games you could try out.

For now, I'll just continue to distribute android games to this site. Unlike most sites, the games will be coming in small sizes some of which could be based on a java game.

I don't own any of the games here and my initial plan was to release games separately but since it's the festive season I thought of giving readers two additional games:

The Adventures Of Lolo - Adventures of Lolo is a puzzle video game released in 1989 by HAL Laboratory for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It is a compilation of puzzles from Eggerland: Meikyū no Fukkatsu and Eggerland: Sōzō he no Tabidachi.

Wolfman By Namco - based of the recent movie featuring Benicio Del Toro and friends by Universal Pictures. You play as both Lawrence Talbot and The Wolfman in this game, both offering you a selection of unique abilities.

Other developments:

Recently signed up to Lnk.Bio and according to some readers. They couldn't share my work through the relevant sites so Link Bio is the solution.

Facebook, Twitter and Instagram will also be found under one link I'll share across several articles if you feel that you want to share something or follow me through other sites.

New Movie Alert: Rocket Boy - An Inspiring South African Story

(new features for desktop users)
Inspiring stories have the power to ignite a flame of hope in our lives that lights up the future. They help us explain our shared experiences of perseverance, triumph and change, and offer meaning and community in darker days. Planned to go into production towards the end of February 2022, Rocket Boy is a story so inspiring it is sure to capture the hearts of the world.

Produced by founder, executive producer and owner of Coal Stove Pictures - Wandile Molebatsi - Rocket Boy follows the uniquely African narrative of an exciting young black scientist Siyabulela Xuza who won The Order of the Baobab. This prestigious presidential award is given for outstanding innovation and distinguished service. The narrative centres around his journey of developing a low-cost form of rocket fuel and the obstacles and victories that he walked through.

“For me, this film is a celebration of African excellence. We forget that our continent has incredible stories of triumph and joy and that Africans have achieved remarkable things despite the heartache of some of our histories,” says Wandile.

It is Wandile’s quest in life to see more stories that shape a positive narrative of Africa like Rocket boy on our screens. He knows from working in the industry for decades that the talent of African creatives and writers is already internationally renowned.  The key rests in making sure that investors can see our Film & High-End TV sector as bankable.

According to Wandile, if more local stories are to have their time to shine in the limelight there needs to be more buy-in from international investors and an easier way to connect African filmmakers to the international market. A turn-key option of how to secure financiers and finance models need to be made available to producers as ethically grounded in sharing the African narrative.

“Telling stories like Rocket Boy reminds me that being a South African producer can be such a privilege. One that is tough but absolutely worth it,” says Wandile.

Covid has had a massive impact on the way filmmaking and production is done in South Africa. While more obvious health and safety issues like budgeting for Covid Tests and having Covid Medics onset have been publicised, the evolution of the creative process during pre-production in South Africa has not been given credit.

Heads of the Department are learning how to share creative visions and schedules via online platforms, WhatsApp groups have become the new normal, and the lockdowns have taught film crews to respect the set more than ever before and cherish the power of collective collaboration.

“The industry has changed so much and I think more than anything, we have all learnt that teamwork makes the dream work. I know that is cheesy but the lengths that South African film professionals go through to make sure that projects are a success continuously makes me grateful for the people on my team. It reminds me that people are beyond essential to achieving any dream,” says Wandile.

The reality is that the energy and drive in the industry is buzzing and spreading to every corner of the country, not just in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Our local creatives hunger to be problem solvers has increased with the democratization of access to and power of

platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram allowing creators to find refreshing ways to tell their stories.

After a long journey of taking the Rocket Boy project as far afield as Toronto and Cannes, Wandile couldn’t be happier that the film found its home with AAA Entertainment who have a passion for enabling African content to have an international impact.

Rocket Boy is an amazing opportunity to project a very African narrative of hope and optimism into an international audience currently exposed to a lot of negativity surrounding South Africa. Through this film and its captivating and transformational story, we showcase the strength of the African stories to shape how audiences around the world perceive our prosperity.

Boomerang:

Earlier this month, Boomerang was expected to fold under Cartoonito as advertised by Canal+ through the Ethiopian region. None of that took place as advertised by them so the question remained on which Boomerang was affected.

Boomerang Africa currently consists of three feeds. An EMEA feed which is most of Africa is using, A MENA feed which is more foreign than African and lastly a Portuguese feed found in Angola and Mozambique.

Through an image of January highlights you can clearly see they were referring to the EMEA region. If Canal+ was actually planning to seperate themselves from them the switch would have occurred by now.

WarnerMedia EMEA announced a new preschool series for a nonexistent Cartoonito channel and coincidence Ethiopia announced the demise of Boomerang.

From what was already seen, Cartoonito has a lot of existing content part of which is on Boomerang. The idea of phasing out the brand would help Cartoon Network immensely with their family offering.

The fact Canal+ put up a launch date only means that it won't be long till we get an update on the brand's presence in the market. I wouldn't be shocked if it launched around March or June of next year.

Soweto TV was struggling from the course of 2018 and was on the verge of being liquidated. Since last year, they've on a purpose of recovery by forming deals with certain studios and working with several producers on new content.

Not long ago, the channel started rolling out a new look across their social pages and this could be form part of their recovery process. If only the church channel (Tshwane TV) could apply that themselves.

A month ago, the founder of Soweto TV died in a car crash at the age of 55. A memorial service was held earlier this month. The new look will likely rollout after the festive holidays or in this case next year.

Baboon Animation Partner Up With African Animation Network While The Motherland Of Cartoon Network Brings Back These Classics Just In Time For Christmas With Boomerang Getting A Lump Of Cole

Baboon Animation once again join forces with African Animation Network

Baboon Animation partners with African Animation Network on new outfit
US-based Baboon Animation has partnered with the African Animation Network (AAN) on a new unit to work with creators in Africa.

Baboon Animation Africa has launched in partnership with AAN to help foster a “socially responsible animation industry” in Africa, the two organisations said.

The move comes after the two were commissioned by WarnerMedia-owned Cartoon Network Africa to produce superhero series Garbage Boy & Trash Can (10×2’30”) with the show’s creator Ridwan Moshood earlier this year.

Mike de Seve, president of Baboon Animation, said the aim of Baboon Animation Africa is to develop talent and shows in an “equitable and responsible way that keeps creators in the driver’s seat.”

Among the six initiatives the two are set to launch in the next six months as Africa’s animation industry continues to grow are The Great Big African Animation Pitch, slated for early 2022 and focusing on under-represented creators.

Nigerian animator Moshood, creator of Garbage Boy & Trash Can, was identified by Baboon as part of a pan-African talent development partnership with AAN’s Nick Wilson and the Annecy International Animation Festival/MIFA.

“We are building on the success of our new WarnerMedia show, Garbage Boy & Trash Can. Real ownership by African creators is our goal and we have the relationships to do it. AAN pioneered this approach through their social impact goals and together we are expanding,” said de Seve.

“Baboon is a perfect creative partner for this enterprise,” said AAN founder and head of projects and content Wilson, who
developed and produced the continent’s first half-hour adult animated comedy in 2015.

AAN, which links various animation professionals and national associations across Africa, unveiled plans for a linear channel to the media earlier this year.

“We have relationships with the biggest comedy stars and animation talent in Africa. The word is out that we are the go-to people if you have a show. We are the first ones producing African shows in Africa for a global media company,” added Wilson.

Cartoon Network is jolly this festive season

With the festive season upon us, kids from around the world will be putting on their festive attire, grooving to some jingles and decorating the tree with some Christmas ornaments.

As part of the festive season, Cartoon Network will be bringing back classics such as Dexter's Laboratory, Codename: KND, Courage The Cowardly Dog, Chowder, Ed Edd'n Eddy, and the original Ben 10 and Powerpuff Girls series.

This format was a thing globally until the mid 2010s where it was retired. Time progresses and viewers eventually outgrow a channel's demographic so if you had to look at it brands need to adapt in order to survive.

Aside from the classics, Cartoon Network entered the preschool space with Cartoonito on top of expanding their slate for family and girls in 2021.

Boomerang just doesn't click

Since the pandemic, Boomerang has going through a rough patch. If I had to recall, last year was the first time the brand didn't have any original programming and it took the same amount of time to realise the root of it all was Cartoonito.

Internationally, the channel seems to be on autopilot as some regions such as Latin America folded it under Cartoonito while EMEA and various markets duplicate content on Cartoon Network, grow the preschool lineup on Boomerang or follow Latin America in the Boomerang purge.

The channel seems to be getting somewhere this festive season as a portion of the schedule is thematic with the rest being the same old same old.

New Android Game: Johnny Bravo's Big Babe Adventure APK Download

(new features for desktop users)

Big Babe Adventure starts, rather typically, with Johnny seeking out women at a chick-flick so he can find one in tears that will fall into his arms.

This plan backfires when they’re all kidnapped and taken to a secret laboratory where an Evil Scientist™ hopes to extract their youth and vitality and use it for himself.

The game takes place entirely in said laboratory, with Johnny navigating each trap-laden room looking for objects to help him progress, and holiday coupons just because.

There’s very little explanation as to why most of the regular cast from the cartoons just so happen to be inside the secret underground laboratory (or ‘lavatory’ as Johnny puts it), but fans will certainly enjoy their inclusion in the game.

This game belongs to GlobalFun in partnership with Cartoon Network.
