eExtra's Kuiertyd Has Competition As kykNET & Kie Welcomes Two New Turkish Dramas, In Die Ysterhand Se Greep And Kind Van Die Noodlot

World-class TV has been dubbed into Afrikaans for decades. Over the past few years, South Africa's excellent reverberation skills have been used to bring Turkish telenovelas to local screens - in Afrikaans. The plot, action and romance in these telenovelas keep viewers glued.

Now fans of these world-class stories can look forward to two brand new dubbed Turkish telenovelas that will be broadcast on kykNET & kie from July 2022: In Die Ysterhand Se Greep and Kind Van Die Noodlot.

“KykNET is very excited to bring two top-quality international telenovelas to Afrikaans to kykNET & kie," says Waldimar Pelser, M-Net director of kykNET channels. "These two series, which were produced in Turkey and resounded in South Africa, have captivating storylines that will not leave any viewer untouched. The reverberation of such large series also creates dozens of jobs in the Afrikaans TV industry for talent behind the scenes and in front of the microphone. ”

The first reverberated telenovela is In Die Ysterhand Se Greep [Never Let Go], known in Turkish as Asla Vazgeçmem.

Yiğit is a successful businessman who does not believe in love. After being responsible for the accident that landed his wife, Iclal, in a coma, he denies her existence to survive emotionally. Their little boy, Mert, believes his mother is in heaven. Then Yiğit meets Nur and they fall in love. Unaware of Iclal, Nur agrees to marry Yiğit.

On their wedding day, Iclal wakes up ...

The second reverberating telenovela is Kind Van Die Noodlot.

Kind Van Die Noodlot's Defne and Kahraman Yorukman are wealthy - but childless. Their family rejects them and this drives Defne to find an alternative way to give her husband an heir: She decides to hire a surrogate mother to give birth to a child for them.

This dubbed telenovela is known in Turkish as Belahan Jiwa Kahraman [A Part of Me] and will consist of 148 episodes.

“The addition of these two Turkish series is part of a major renewal at kykNET & kie, a channel that will also treat its viewers to several exciting new locally produced programs this year. We want to give our viewers the best of both worlds - international glamor in Afrikaans, as well as local stories and entertainment that is anchored in Afrikaans communities, ”adds Pelser.

kykNET also took on the task in 2020 of dubbing and broadcasting popular animated films in Afrikaans. Sounded movies like Wiekie the Viking and the Magic Sword and The Mermaid Princess provided great enjoyment to the young team.

New programs for kykNET & kie will be announced later this year. Keep an eye on kykNET & kie's Facebook page for further information on schedule changes.

In Die Ysterhand Se Greep and Kind Van Die Noodlot will be broadcast from July 2022 on kykNET & kie (DStv channel 145).

Roundups #50: Dora The Explorer Horror Series Currently Streaming On YouTube, The Bad Guys TV Series Rumoured To Be In Development On DreamWorks And Plants Vs. Zombies Scrapped Feature Film From DreamWorks

Dora The Explorer and Learning With Pibby rip-off

Amanda The Adventurer follows the escapades of the titular character and her sheep friend Woody except it contains more darker themes which is where the Adult Swim original Learning With Pibby tags along.

The project was produced by James Pratt's (Woody) Gaming Design and was meant to give viewers a nostalgic and curiosity feel. The main characters are the centre peace to the whole show with others being plot fillers who are quickly forgotten.

Throughout the show, viewers will be encouraged to help Amanda on her journey if you get the answer wrong she huffs and puffs and as episodes go by you'll see several warning signs until the inevitable end.

The Bad Guys might be coming to a station near you

The #1 movie in the U.S. follows a group of criminal animals who, upon being caught, pretend to attempt to reform themselves as model citizens, only for their leader to find himself genuinely drawn to changing his ways as a new villain has his own plans.

In an interview with Marc Maron (the voice of snake), it was said that a TV series might be in development. A friend of his auditioned for his role and went on to joke about the whole issue. Most of the cast members expressed interest in a sequel.

At the moment, DreamWorks Animation hasn't confirmed anything for The Bad Guys but the idea of a TV series doesn't seem far fetched almost all their movies particularly ones as big as Madagascar and Dragons come with a prequel.

Plants Vs. Zombies movie enters the recycle bin

Plants vs. Zombies is a video game franchise developed by PopCap Games, a subsidiary of Electronic Arts (EA) where players take on the role of a human as they have to defend their home from a couple of mindless zombies.

According to sources, a feature film from DreamWorks Animation was currently underway with several concepts and ideas already planned. The news came at the time the beloved video game alongside Angry Birds were on the verge of extinction.

The first Plants Vs. Zombies game is available on Insidus Games.

Durban Gen To End In January 2023

The show is produced by Stained Glass production and it is filmed in Durban. According to entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, eTV has decided to pull the plug on the show. Mphela reports that it will continue to air until January 2023. Fans also don't seem shocked as it hasn't been performing well.

Over the past few months, the show has tried to introduce new faces to save it. Media personality Lasizwe Dambuza recently landed a stint on the show. Although the news received mixed reactions, after watching his appearance fans were left in awe of his acting skills. The Mseleku's - Thobile and Musa, also made an appearance on the show and Vusi Nova.

Things had been getting messier and messier for the show. Thulane Shange booted off the show last year. The telenovela also decided to show Lihle Dhlomo who played the role of Doctor Precious Dlamini the door, Sifiso Sibiya who played Bab' Gumedewas was also fired.

In July 2021, viewers also had to bid farewell to yet another popular character on the medical series. This after a moving episode that saw the death of MaCele , played by Monica Thuli Zulu. MaCele died of a heart attack because her husband told her that they had spent all of the family savings.

Meanwhile, a few weeks prior to that, viewers also had to say goodbye to Dr. Ndabezinhle Luthili played by Lerato Nxumalo. Lerato said she will never forget the human qualities Dr. Luthuli possessed.

In a post on her Instagram account she wrote, “Although I’m leaving I’ll never forget the human qualities Ndabezinhle has taught me, that it’s okay to be vulnerable, kind, compassionate, and flawed. To my colleagues thank you for being crazy, yall made every day on set so much fun. I’m sorry for bullying yall into making Tiktoks with me.” She expressed her gratitude to the show, her colleagues and friends for the journey, for giving her the opportunity.

A couple of months ago, Daily Sun reported that Uzalo actor Simphiwe Majozi was scouted by the producers of the show to save it.

"The production is trying to attract TV fans. They have taken Simphiwe Majozi, who plays Sbu on Uzalo. They believe he has charisma and the potential of attracting TV fans to the show. We all know people love Simphiwe and his funny side, so maybe he will serve the purpose," said the source. But, the plan has clearly failed as the show has been canned.

Development Hell: The Lost Stuart Little Reboot

Stuart Little is 1945 American children's novel by Charlotte Web writer, E.B. White. It was his first children's book which went on to be widely recognized as children's literature with illustrations handled by Garth Williams, an artist who worked on several children's books.

From 1999-2005, the novel was adapted into two live-action and computer animated films with the third solely focused on animation. The first two films recieved praise for its humor and visual effects while the last one killed all aspects the first two worked hard to conceive.

Since 2015, a remake has been discussed with no updates available for the past couple of years. According to entail, it will revolve mainly on the books and not that of the 1999 film.

Just like Disney's Pocahontas, even Stuart Little recieved some re-editing throughout the books. Take for instance, Stuart who worked as a teacher to make a living in order to search for the family bird Margalo who was likely eaten by a friend of Snowbell.

Anyways, the talk is not on the book but the remake questions amount to how original this movie will turn out to the book cause if anything I wouldn't be shocked if they tried to modernize the whole franchise and add stuff like k-pop or WAP items that didn't exist in his timeline.

According to Giant Freakin Robot, Marvel's very own Star Lord (played by Chris Pratt) might be in talks to star as the little guy in the long awaited remake. He will be voicing the video game character Super Mario in the movie of the same name even has a project for Garfield The Cat.

If this is true, then it would be the first time in almost a decade since we've gotten actual news from the little mouse.
