Coming Soon To More Platforms??? As Sources Say Discussion Are Said To Be Underway For The Much Anticipated News Platform, SABC eKhaya

SABC is set to launch a second news channel known to audiences as SABC eKhaya (formerly SABC Parliament) in the second quarter of the year carrying parliamentary content and other news programming in indigenous languages including English.

The news channel will serve as a regional spinoff to the current SABC News channel on DStv which had a similar offering for the yet-to-be-named news channel before expanding their footprint to the rest of Africa which further limited those aspects.

The channel is said to launch the second quarter of the year exclusively on SABC's DTT and very likely SABC+ as seen with SABC News which is said to be available on DStv at an exclusive basis.

Since news of the channel surfaced, consumers were curious as to whether eMedia Investments, and if it's still an option On Digital Media and StarTimes would be looking to add the channel on their platforms seeing as they lack such alternative unlike MultiChoice.

Could SABC Encore revival be scrapped?
A former SABC channel was added onto Openview
SABC Movies' dream journal

Taking to account, these outlets have pending agreements with the as mentioned public broadcaster for more channels aside from SABC 1-3 which they have fallen far behind on in terms of filing up with the end of bargain.

The yet-to-be-named news platform fits the description of the promised new channels like a glove - repeats. As seen a few years ago, eMedia Investments is waiting on two encore based channels while MultiChoice opts to use them as leverage on eMedia's 4 channels.

As to whether discussions are underway, sources had mentioned to numerous viewers of such matter but seeing as the channel is still at its early stage. It seems highly unlikely, for now you can view the test channel exclusively on SABC's DTT.

Some Of The Changes Made To Our Platforms Earlier In The Year

As mentioned in 2022, we've been conducting "never-ending" experiments on Insidus and Insidus Games it was found that our websites are well too crammed for many things hence the downsizing which was welcomed by a makeover.

Several readers may have noticed that Insidus Games is very much different, well it's not a reader's platform hence the variation. Experiments there are at a complicated stage but we reduced the bugs on the website so that it would be easy to browse.

As for Insidus, we have most of everything almost covered just a few more adjustments here and there as to not crowd the space as seen with post's pages featured attractions are nowhere in reach while as external attractions are only seen in the post pages.

Initially, the plan was to include more widgets that might still be a priority as of right now this is all we have to offer for the time being.

Just to let readers know, we'll be offline for a couple of days probably run on autopilot as we prep for the launch of a star attraction we have been boasting on about for several years. It will appear on Featured Posts which will soon be on post pages.

As you wait feel free to browse our platforms.

Warner Bros. Discovery starts off 2023 with more confusion

According to the Journal’s sources, Warner Bros. Discovery is still planning to launch a “supersize streaming service” in the near future. The service will feature all of the HBO Max content and most of the content that can currently be found on Discovery Plus. Nevertheless, Discovery Plus will still be available as a standalone option for consumers.

The sources claim that WBD doesn’t want to risk losing the 20 million Discovery Plus subscribers that may not be interested in paying more for a combined offering. Therefore, the new service and Discovery Plus will share some content, including Discovery Channel’s Shark Week block and TV shows from Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Network.

During the week, Twitter users recently discovered a private account they suspect might be connected to the company. The account is named WBD+ (@wbdplus) and its bio reads: “All in one.” The account has zero followers and its tweets are protected, but there’s a chance that this could be the name of the upcoming streaming service.

Or it could be a troll with too much time on their hands.

Recap: CBS Reality Is The Only Brand From AMC International And Paramount To Retain Its Identity In The UK

In June 2022, AMC International and Paramount Global were reviewing their entertainment offering and it was announced that CBS Justice, CBS Drama and Horror Channel in the UK would be discontinued by the end of that month and supplemented by RealityXtra and Legend.

CBS Reality remains as the only prime jewel to carry the CBS brand while the above-mentioned brands were only able to retain their content. No one really knows why maybe it has to do with popularity or as other sources have seen the Really channel.

But what I'm more interested in is how Paramount and AMC International decided that brands like CBS Justice were of no use to that region. From what was highlighted AMC International had seen a loss in revenue with a slight increase in the coming years.

Sources estimated that the partnership with these two might as well be dissolved cause as it is CBS is not seen anywhere except for CBS Reality and others point to Paramount+ as they also licence content under the CBS brand but who knows really.

AMC International:
Conspiracy Theory: The Real Reason CBS Reality remains in the market
The twisted origin story of RealityXtra
Acorn TV closed down in South Africa
AMC+ rolling out across Europe later in the year

From what I've accessed about Horror and CBS Drama those channels carried a lot of old content and I'm not talking about The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family old but kind of the one you'd get from Walker, Texas Rangers and CSI so I'm guessing not a lot of viewers watched it like CBS Reality.

It could explain why the concept seen on CBS Justice and Horror Channel became Legend. Of course these changes appear very much rushed as you have The Mentalist on RealityXtra and a HorrorXtra without Horror Channel again this appears rushed.

RealityXtra 2 launched not so long ago and it got me thinking what if CBS Reality alongside its content were to fold and replace the feed of CBS Reality to kind of align it better with the other channels as they lack CBS in the name.

Internationally, the only known feed to have CBS Justice is located in Africa which just divides the content with CBS Reality perhaps they could merge it as both are factual channels and supply Judge Judy, Killer Siblings and Border Patrol under the banner RealityXtra or offer it as two seperate channels.

RealityXtra looks more simple and recognisable compared to Legend which would make a better name for a movie channel. I feel RealityXtra could sell better and not disrupt the digital businesses for both AMC International and Paramount.
