SABC Education Revises Their Channel's Schedule And Introduces New Programs


SABC Education is currently available on DTT and TelkomOne with plans to launch on DStv and StarSat STILL UNDERWAY while Openview customers still waiting on the two entertainment channels promised earlier in the year.

The channel revises its schedule with new curriculum-support and children’s programming from 14h00 to 18h00, Mondays to Sundays. Catch up episodes of Skeem Saam and Daily Thetha air at 18h00 and 18h30. Evenings feature themed programming from 19h30.

THE SCHEDULE:
14h00 to 18h00
Programming for Grades R-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. Includes TOMZ, Geleza Nathi, YOTV, Hectic Nine-9 and Words and Numbers.

18h00
Skeem Saam (a rebroadcast of the episode that aired on SABC1 the day before)

18h30
Daily Thetha (also a rebroadcast of the day before)

19:30 onwards
Line-up focuses on different themes like so:
Mondays: Careers, leadership and entrepreneurship with shows such as 48 Hours, 100% Youth, Game Plan and One Day Leader.
Tuesdays: Parenting, disability and health with Raising Babies, Life Begins after Coffee and Vital Signs.
Wednesdays: Food, farming and the environment with Dijo le Bophelo, Living Land, Whip the Chef and 50/50.
Thursdays: The spotlight is on the elderly, life skills and spirituality featuring Going Strong, The Golden Years, Motswako and the best of Issues of Faith.
Fridays: Teaching, finance and documentaries, with Mother of all Professionals, Rands with Sense, Making Moves and Our Moments.
Saturdays and Sundays: Light entertainment with local music, emo-tainment, docu-reality, consumer affairs, local gospel music, faith magazine and choral music with Afro Café, Kumbul’ekhaya, Botho - An Act of Kindness, Speak Out, It’s Gospel Time, Big Up, The Chatroom and Imizilili.
