Channel Closure: TLNovelas Will Stop Airing On DStv And GOtv From 31 January 2026 Due To Canal+'s Cost Cutting At MultiChoice

MultiChoice in a statement:

We regularly review our channel line-up to ensure we offer customers the best in local and international content. This is done to ensure we deliver unbeatable content and that our DStv services cater for the needs and viewing requirements of our customers. As part of this ongoing process, some channels may be terminated. 

After Canal+ managed to forge an agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery for MultiChoice operations in Africa. A notice was sent out informing subscribers of TLNovelas's departure from DStv on 31 January 2026.

Not long ago, Paramount had claimed the lives of CBS Reality, CBS Justice, MTV Base and BET. Now consumers have to sayanara to TLNovelas which serves as the first victim in Canal+'s cost cutting.

TLNovelas was added to MultiChoice's DStv and GOtv platforms across Africa in September 2020 as a pop-up channel. StarTimes offered it as a permanent addition in a separate agreement when it launched in May 2020 - no longer available.

For DStv consumers, this was accompanied by two other pop-up channels, Timeless Dizi Channel and ZooMoo. Out of the three, MultiChoice had opted to keep only TLNovelas while removing ZooMoo and Timeless Dizi Channel. 

After five years, TLNovelas will take a bow on 31 January 2026 with Love To Death and It Had To Be You airing in double bill form. MultiChoice has no plans to replace the channel leaving Telemundo as the only other alternative on the platform.

Telemundo will be launching a new female led drama The Woman In Charge which serves as a reboot to Woman Of Steel. This will be followed by the romantic drama Love Of My Life in the month of February.

With that in mind, we're looking to undergo a content restructure of some sorts where the focus will shift mainly news and highlights - less copy and paste.

Another will be with our second website Regular Nick: Games, that won't be closing anytime soon but maybe there's a way we can keep both in the picture. I can't promise anyone that I'll be active on there as much.

For 2026, I want to try and rationalise on things here that could signal even lesser content or more of the same thing.

Wednesday, 28 January, When Gloria seeks support from her brother-in-law, the governor, after the police raid her home, she receives a harsh surprise.

Thursday, 29 January, Cuervo breaks into Sebastián’s house and catches Gloria naked. He tries to rape her and take her away. She begs him not to hurt her.

Friday, 30 January, After being released, Sebastián seeks out his sister-in-law to tell her where the money Juan José left him is hidden.

Saturday, 31 January, Gloria arrives at the hideout and finds the backpack with two hundred thousand dollars, but Jacinto corners her and demands the money.

Channel Premiere: Love Of My Life Coming Soon To Telemundo Across Africa This February

Not to be mistaken with the Colombian series on eExtra, Telemundo, a Spanish language and English dubbed entertainment channel will be rolling out a new series called Love Of My Life. Known as La Mujer De Mi Vida it airs from 23 February.

Synopsis for Love Of My Life

Love Of My Life centers on Ricardo Oribe, a successful but physically unattractive businessman who is deeply devoted to his wife, Daniela Millán, an aspiring actress. 

Ricardo's life is shattered when his best friend, Emilio García, betrays him in a plot to seize his business empire and family. Emilio attempts to murder Ricardo, and although Ricardo survives, he is left with amnesia and is presumed dead by his loved ones.

Fifteen years later, after undergoing significant physical changes and finally recovering his memory, Ricardo returns to his home city. To avoid legal traps set by Emilio and keep his family safe, he assumes a new identity as Pablo Silva.

Ricardo/Pablo must stay incognito while trying to win back the love of his life (Daniela) and reconnect with his children, all while seeking justice against the man who stole his life. 

It starred Iván Sánchez as Ricardo Oribe/Pablo Silva, Angélica Celaya as Daniela Millan, Mauricio Islas as Emilio García Fuentes, Catherine Siachoque as Marcela Jiménez Mello and Patricia Reyes Spíndola as Antonia Oribe.

Love Of My Life airs weeknights on Telemundo at 9PM CAT from 23 February replacing Blood And Wine. Prior to the launch, Telemundo will be rolling out an action led drama, The Woman In Charge.
