MultiChoice Unveils Angola's Kwenda Magic And Mozambique's Maningue Magic

MultiChoice on the new channel Kwenda Magic

DStv customers in Angola will soon enjoy a new local channel uniquely created for them with the launch of Kwenda Magic. The newest addition to MultiChoice's premium content offer will be released January 17, 2022 at 16 pm in Angola on DStv Channel 502.

Kwenda Magic will be available to subscribers of the DStv Familia, DStv Grande, DStv Grande Plus, DStv Bué and DStv Mega packages.

The programs include the premiere of ′′ O Rio ", a national adaptation of the popular South African telenovela ′′ The River ′′ from DStv's channel 1 Magic. The channel will also feature dubbed international content, such as Turkish hits ′′ The Girl Called Feriah ′′ and ′′ Woman ", not to mention MNet's recent criminal thriller series ′′ Reyka ".

′′ Rio ′′ is the first Angolan telenovela produced for a MNet channel and a strong fiction production fully crafted by Angolans for the Angolan public. This soap opera is adapted from a true story, taken place somewhere by this African continent, and which comes to life by the rich interpretations of a prestigious cast with Lesliana Pereira and Silvio Nascimento in the lead roles.

Over the course of the 260 episodes, let's meet and live intensely with:
Monifa Tchiyo (Lesliana Pereira), the beautiful and powerful businesswoman who commands, with iron fist, without mercy, a diamond exploration operation.
Henda Tchyo (Silvio Nascimento) is the faithful and feared ′′ captain ′′ of Monifa. Your husband's nephew, Henda is a tough and rough young man, who acts as a dick for all the villain's work. Monifa's right arm and the figure that best interprets and executes his ruthless orders.

′′ Rio ′′ still stars public figures like the beautiful and eccentric Juddy of Conceição and Neide Van-dúnem, and reaffirms the talent of very enshrined names like Dicla Burity, Kim Fasano, Carlos de Carvalho, Raúl do Rosario and Leonora Carvalho.

Joao Ribeiro on the new channel Maningue Magic

I'm very happy to be part of what I think will be another landmark moment in Mozambique's history.

I have the pleasure and opportunity to manage Multichoice's new channel MANINGUE MAGIC (channel that will soon be on exclusive display on GOtv and DStv platforms in Mozambique). It will be an entertainment channel, it will display locally produced content, which will join some high quality international and Africans.

For a long time, in so much as Filmmaker (director and producer), I waited for an opportunity where local channels would open the door to independent production and hire content production to enrich their program grid. Unfortunately, the moments when this happened in the already long history of National TV, since the channel strategy goes through producing ′′ at home ′′ all its content. This ′′ new ′′ model that relies solely on the acquisition of local content, thus opens a window to national audiovisual, promote local artists and producers, invest in local industry in pursuit of the goal that Multichoice has to be the best storyteller in Africa.

This first cycle of programs began to be prepared a few months ago and now it reaches its stage of display.

National producers accepted this huge challenge and entered this new complex value chain where delivery demands are completely different from what our national status quo is, where delivery times, quality of production and information between parties is very demanding, turning into a school that will definitely influence the market as a whole.

Currently there are 6 producers working for Channel and close to 100 professionals from different specialties involved in production. We all want to demonstrate to the public that we can have national fiction production on our channels regularly and with quality, we want to show that our audience deserves entertainment of the highest quality. We want to invest local and then get return that is based on winning ratings for the quality of the offer.

Let us hope that the public will welcome us with open arms and allow this project dedicated to Mozambique to continue its development and that we can bring more local content and involve more producers in the short term.

This is how we proudly air the FIRST Mozambican soap opera we gave the title MAIDA (adapted from a successful format already produced and aired in Africa) that will have 130 episodes in the first season. Produced by Panavideo, it involves a huge team of national professionals in all areas of production. This story takes place between the countryside and the city, crosses horizons and works the classic gender themes. The love, the betrayal, the power, the difference in classes.

INFLUENCER is an original fiction series with 26 episodes on Season 1 in a production of CINEVIDEO that will explore the themes of youth, drugs, and prostitution. A young girl who dreams of being a digital influencer ends up getting into the knitwear of a criminal organization and sees her plans exchanged.

DATE MY FAMILY Mozambique, a relationship show with a ′′ twist ". This show with 26 episodes this season 1, is being prodded by MAHLA FILMS and accompanies young singles looking to get into new relationships.

BOSS STATION, a daily music program where the video clips of the moment will be presented and Big Baron Boss (Emerson Miranda) will talk to some of the most important national musicians and show us behind the scenes of music production in a MATCH POINT production.

TXUNED, a show about fashion, design, cuisine and lifestyle. Nayomi Chambal drives this weekly magazine produced by SOARTES.

TOP MORE will bring news from Mozambican and African socialites and what we are told about social media. Follow these famous on a weekly show hosted by Shelly Janfar in a production of IDEAS COMMUNICATION.

Thanks to Multichoice, the Maningue Magic team, all Marketing teams, Corporate Affairs, Systems Operations, the different Managers and the colleagues who will serve the Customer from now on. Thank you to the local producers who joined us in this first phase (Panavideo, Cinevideo, Mahla Movies, SóArtes, Match Point and Ideas). Without all of you, this would not be possible.

Meet Pepper The Penguin
Pepper the African penguin is a new character we have met on Penguin Beach. Dev, our penguin naturalist, met this young male at Stony Point Penguin Colony in South Africa a few weeks ago. He has been named Pepper by the viewers because of his distinct speckled or peppery markings on his belly.

andBeyond Ngala returns to safariLIVE
&Beyond Ngala Private Game Reserve is a private concession inside the Kruger National Park and is back on our screens on safariLIVE.
&Beyond Ngala is a 14,700 hectare (36,500 acres) Big Five private game reserve that shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park and Timbavati Game Reserve. One of the most exciting things about broadcasting from Ngala Private Game Reserve to our viewers during this time is that they have two of the world’s only three white lions living in the wild.

Marula Season in the African Bush.
The fruit that comes from the Marula trees is highly appealing for elephants. February is Marula Season at Djuma Private Game Reserve here in South Africa where the trees are in fruit and it brings hundreds of elephants together to compete for them. Big elephants like to shake the trees to get the fruit and then pick them up off the ground.

Chicks and Babies
It is the time of year where many babies have been born and are now seeing the world for the first time. Eggs are hatching in nests and cubs and pups are coming out of dens.
The weaver birds who are nesting over the dam at Djuma have lots of chicks in their nests. Recently WildEarth caught a sad moment where a Goshawk took a chick from one of the nests.

Snakes Snakes Snakes
The rains have been long and much heavier than normal this year leaving the bush flourishing with life. As the rains start to subside and we move towards winter we will see many snakes popping up. During the heavy rains they tend to hide away but now with a plethora of food for them to eat they are on the move.

Disney Will Cease Broadcast Of Disney XD, Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Kids, FX Movies And Star Life In Latin America With Disney Junior In Brazil

With the arrival of Disney+, the mouse company was highly motivated in the last couple of years to exterminate its existing pay television channels around the world in order to benefit its subscription streaming platform.

With the announcement given in mid-2021 by the CEO of the company Bob Chapek in which 100 international casualties were promised, it was a matter of time for this mass murder to affect Latin America and it seems that Disney will finally play its cards in the region.

Initially, the company did not make major changes in the television field than to change the name of the Fox channels, replacing it with the Star brand for legal reasons, drastically modify the content broadcast on its main children's channels (to enhance the one that is already on demand on Disney+), and reducing the signals available in the territory (the so-called 'feeds'), in addition to a notable lack of interest in their maintenance and promotion.

These last three events were enough evidence to begin to think that Disney was already planning the worst for many of these channels that suffered these dreaded consequences, especially since, certainly, they became useless signals by having taken a good portion of their programming for to make it exclusive to Disney+, and what was left on broadcast was already distributed on said platform.

It should also be remembered that, in August 2021, Disney launched the Star+ service, in an attempt to earn more money with two different platforms, significantly affecting the channels of a more mature audience, such as the Star Channel itself, than during Its advertising strategy promised to maintain the same programming as always, but only half a year later it aggressively reduced the daily broadcasts of The Simpsons, its star series, among other changes that made the star's service not to the liking of consumers.

This also hurt Star Premium channels (i.e.,  Star Hits, Star Series, Star Action, Star Comedy, Star Fun, Star Cinema, and Star Classics ), whose programming became repetitive and not at all innovative as for a premium television package., a market quite obsolete today but that HBO manages to keep current with premieres and original productions, which ended up digging Star Premium's own grave after so many years on the air.

And that is how it can be confirmed that the company will also end Disney XD, Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Kids, FX Movies and Star Life in Latin America and Disney Junior in Brazil at the moment. All these channels, whose course could already be foreseen for months, will be discontinued as of March 31 2022, thus adding to the aforementioned signals belonging to the Star Premium group, which will say goodbye at the end of this month : January 31st.

In the case of Disney XD, its end in Latin America was something that viewers were rumored for 2 years, after the announcement of the channel ceasing its broadcasts in India to be replaced by a Marvel-themed signal (the famous ' Marvel HQ ' , which in any case was already discontinued on December 1 with almost 2 years on the air), added to several international versions of the channel that said goodbye during this time without having any kind of substitute.

This information initially came from a letter from Disney sent to a cable operator last Wednesday, December 22, but which came to light on the morning of this Monday, January 10, in a portal post, remaining as a rumor until hours later. it was finally confirmed and it is already a true fact. All the channels already officially named have their days numbered.

20th Century Studios, 20th Century Animation, Walt Disney Studios & Disney+ Working On A Third Movie For The Rio Franchise And Seventh Film For Ice Age And Cartoon Network Studio's New Logo Isn't That Bad Despite Getting Mixed Feedback

Disney has more animated features underway for the streaming service

Disney+'s PR Website On The Ice Age Adventures Of Buck Wild was unveiled and there was A PDF called Production Notes and while interviewing the filmakers and unveiling about the director with John C. Donkin (Ice Age Gone Nutty) and writters Ray Delaurentis (Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue!) and it was revealed this.

He is currently developing an animated series based on a New York Times best-selling children’s book and writing streaming movies for 20th Century Studios/Disney+.

Cartoon Network Studios unveiled their new logo

Cartoon Network has always been a channel for change with a new lineup of shows every year to attract an audience. While the shows don't possess the same spark as those seen in the 2000s.

The logo remained consistent over the years but this time that seemingly wasn't the case as seen above. The logo for their studios has changed seeming more comedic which seems to be the new direction for the channel.

Compare the logos you can see the word studios is close to each other aside from the font being changed even the colours of the font and squared box have been inverted.

As much as people resent this logo which will likely be applied to the linear channel I do see this logo as a glimmer of hope for the channel which has been padded with Teen Titans GO! for the past decade.

Cartoon Network is building their family and female skewed offering and this logo kind of fits with their plans for the future. Change is constant and we won't always enjoy it but any change that equals to less TTG is good in my books.

Xtreme Football League Founded By WWE's Very Own Vince McMahon Returns In 2023 And WWE Nearly Sold To FOX

The revived XFL series commence in 2023

Xtreme Football League (XFL) is a professional American football league founded by wrestling executive Vince McMahon in 2018, as a reboot and successor to the league of the same name he founded in 2001.

McMahon re-founded the XFL to create a league with fewer off-field controversies and faster, simpler play compared to the National Football League (NFL), as well as one without the professional wrestling–inspired features and entertainment elements of its predecessor.

The first season of XFL began on February 8, 2020. The league planned to have a ten-week regular season through April 12, with division championships April 18 and 19, with the XFL Championship scheduled for April 26.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, the XFL announced that the league would be cancelling the rest of the season, ahead of the league's suspension of operations and bankruptcy filing a month later.

On December 2, 2021, it was revealed on Dany Garcia's Instagram page that the 2023 XFL season would start on February 18, 2023, along with Training Camp in January 2023, as well as a player combine in June 2022.

XFL was distributed by a lot of Disney stations including ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 with Fox, FS1, FS2 being retained by the FOX Corporation. Perhaps ESPN or SuperSport will pick up the new season in 2023.

WWE wanted to be purchased several years ago

Ex-WWE creative team member Freddie Prinze Jr told the media that FOX turned down the chance to buy the company outright back when they were negotiating terms to air SmackDown.

According to one of Prinze Jr's friends, who works as an executive at FOX, Vince McMahon's asking price was just too high - the network knocked back the chance to pursue a full purchase, and instead decided to license SmackDown for a still-hefty sum.

There had been chatter back in 2019 about FOX potentially moving to buy WWE, but it's incredible to hear that McMahon was so willing to cede control of his baby. Freddie also said that he'd been sitting on that story for a while, but couldn't resist telling it "because it has been long enough" since FOX were in the running.

Older wrestling fans may still struggle with the thought of Vince selling WWE. There was a time when that seemed impossible, but it's interesting to learn that he has a (rather high) figure in mind for the organisation.

That number was definitely too big for FOX.
