New Channel Alert (Rumour): Moja Love Owners To Allocate Third TV Channel To The DStv Platform Likely For Easyview Customers

A couple of years ago, Siyaya TV was planning to rollout its own rival platform for MultiChoice's DStv but unsuccessful opted for Moja Love. Since its launch, it happens to be one of the leading brands on DStv for shows like X-Repo, Uyajola 9/9 and Show Me Love.

It wasn't long till MultiChoice would have spun off the channel to Access consumers under Moja 9.9. serving as a platform for archived material alongside content already viewable on Moja Love.

During the week, MultiChoice had begun tests on another HD channel from Siyaya TV whose identity as been revealed. But from what we can make of this it might have something to do with Moja Love as one of its most controversial shows Umakwapheni is slotted there.

Other than that no other program can be viewed on this possible new channel either because Siyaya TV hasn't added other content to the channel yet or possibly hadn't provided MultiChoice with a full length programme guide.

And if this channel paints out to be what I'm assuming "another repeats channel" then I'm guessing this channel will be tailored to Easyview customers should it be a copycat to Moja 9.9. and something like that would come out as a bit weird on MultiChoice's part.

I mean Moja 9.9. already exists it would have made more sense moving that to Easyview as opposed to starting up another channel to rehash shows. It's not like Easyview has that many consumers but considering what happened with Magic Showcase anything can be expected.

Foxtel closed several premium channels in Australia due to streamlining attempts I'm assuming this is MultiChoice's way of investing less time with DStv. They lose several premium clients every year and maybe something like this one way to save up on costs.

Despite Easyview being a small base within the DStv bouquet, MultiChoice does offer other packages in neighbouring countries so this channel may cater to them as well if not only South Africa.

Moja Launches New Digital News Site Zimoja Lezinto

On Thursday 1 September, Moja TV Channels has launched a new digital news website, Zimoja Lezinto Lezinto with Nonzwakazi Cekete as editor.

The digital news site is an extension of the existing Moja Love and the Moja 9.9 TV channels which are provided to MultiChoice's DStv satellite pay-TV service.

The purpose of the Zimoja website is to "dig deep and report fairly on what is happening in our communities".

Aubrey Tau, CEO and founder, says "At Zimoja Lezinto we strive for credibility, authenticity and accountability. In a time where fake news continues to destroy the credibility of journalism, we, at Zimoja Lezinto, pride ourselves in delivering news that is balanced and fair and subscribes to the ethical guidelines of journalism and the legal frameworks of this country".

"We are going to mirror what is happening in our communities without fear or favour and at the forefront of what we do is delivering news that is truthful, facts that are verified and stories that are corroborated."

Nonzwakazi Cekete says the digital news site will "prioritise credibility in a time that fake news continues to be pandemic in our society".

"I am truly excited that after the hard work behind the scenes, Zimoja is launching and I am looking forward to experiencing the impact it will have in our society. At the heart of Zimoja is our communities - we are telling true stories that affect our people in the most honest, factual and truthful way, without fear or favour - this is the same spirit that Moja Love and Moja 9.9 carry."

The news site will aim to expose corruption, maladministration, and socio-economic inequalities in South Africa and how that affects South Africans.

Moja Love CEO Message To Their Loyal Fans

(new features for desktop users)
Dear Colleagues,

This year has been the most challenging for our channel, but it has certainly been the most thrilling year for our viewers, who were spoilt for choice with our rich and diverse content. The steps we take today, will define the character of our country for many years to come. I have enormous pride in what we have accomplished as we continue to transform Moja Love into one of the most loved channels in South Africa.

Working as a team and supporting each other, particularly during the ongoing challenges of the pandemic, has illustrated the strength of the Moja Love family and their mentality. As a channel, we have never been short of ambition. We've never been satisfied with the status quo and we will continue with our vision - empowering and creating more positive memories for our viewers.

Your resilience and creativity has ensured our businesses continue to perform at the highest level. I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your hardwork and dedication. I am confident that we will enter the new year, strongly positioned, renewed in spirit and determination, and prepared for more progress and success.

It is not easy to match the creativity standards of the women at Moja Love, from Head of the Channel, Bokani Moyo to Executive producers Shoki Langa, Livhuwani Dagadi, Bongi Ndaba, Hlengiwe Ndela, Lindiwe Klaaste Media and the producers Thato Nawe, Nthati Molefe, Julia Machete, Hermina Mathlong, Nolwazi Hlatswayo to Shuga Motlanthe. These women are intelligent, creative, brave and above everything, they are disciplined and dedicated. Experiencing the culture of work ethics and thinking out of the box always fuels me to take the Moja Love to an even greater heights. Our late chair the lovely Dr Vuyo Mahlati may her soul rest in peace used to say "halala halala halala".

As a team, we educate and entertain, but more importantly, enrich the lives of our people by telling the stories that reflect the rich diversity of our country. We continue to pursue our goal of being Mzansi's best producer of media content, spreading the message of peace, love, kindness and appreciation while holding true to our values and commitment to change for the better, including our support for those who are vulnerable.

Many of our shows from Dlozilam, Lenyalo Le Thata, You Promised To Marry Me, Mamazala, AmaBishop, Mina Nawe, Uyaphuza, Umdeni, Isencane Lengane, Uyajola 99, Housemaids, Ostofoza, Rea Tsotella, Uthando Noxolo, Skipha Amafiles and Single Mingle are among Mzansi's best performing and loved programs. We produce compelling TV programs that captures the viewers' mind, educate and inspire them.

We are stronger because of everyone's dedication. I am very grateful for your efforts and very proud of the team's performance.

I urge you to continue and keep the creative fires burning. Nothing has or will serve us better than the exceptional creativity that comes from our talented teams, from the crew, finance, sales and marketing, post-production, covid marshals, security, drivers, presenters, cast members and everyone else involved in the creative process.

My sincere best wishes to you and your families for the holidays. Merry Christmas and a Prosperous new year.
