Season 4 Of Finest Homes Will Only Launch In April On The Home Channel

South African home design and architecture has truly come into its own; bland imitations have made way for modern masterpieces and character-filled design. The Home Channel, DStv channel 176, brings you a brand new season of Finest Homes, where we explore these creations, talking to the visionaries who are bringing them to life, as well as the people who live in them. Journey with us as we are taken through the spaces, showcasing architecture, interior design and landscape design; discover valuable tips and ideas offered up by local experts, and recreate some of these looks in your own home.

Hosting this season is TV and radio presenter, and emcee Leigh-Anne Williams – celebrating 15 years of her illustrious career in the media and entertainment industry this year. With a captivating smile and a more than confident demeanour, Leigh-Anne brings her charm, wit and passion to be the best she can be at what she does in the latest season of Finest Homes.

She is best known for co-hosting the Expresso Show on SABC3, as well as hosting her own radio show – The Morning Show with Leigh-Anne Williams on Good Hope FM. She also took part in the eighth season of Strictly Come Dancing and little-known to everyone, she once held down a regular-9-to-5 job in recruitment, while dabbling in acting lessons during her spare time – all before becoming one of the most recognised faces on South African television.

EPISODE 1: 04 to 10 April 2022

In the first episode of Finest Homes, we visit a historic Clifton villa that has been meticulously renovated thanks to Dylan Thomaz of Curación Interior. We also get Brandon James Dowle of Studio James’ take on a Mediterranean interior scheme.

EPISODE 2: 11 to 17 April 2022

In the second episode of Finest Homes, we visit Somerset West to tour a house that caters to the needs of two families. Architect Mabasa Mashazhu takes us through the design, while Kim de Villiers talks us through the home’s interior. We also chat to Anna Correia about art as inspiration for a décor scheme.

SABC Finally Switch SABC 1-3 To HD On Openview, Still Silent Over The Two Upcoming Channels

Last year, eMedia Investments forged a deal with SABC which would see SABC 1-3 switch to HD and launch further channels to the platform within that year. At the time, SABC Sport alongside SABC's 19 radio stations have since then made available to the Openview platform.

They failed to launch the two further channels as well as switch the current ones to high definition but now that all changes as Openview announced through their social pages that SABC 1-3 will be available in crystal clear HD after waiting almost a year.

The channels have been viewable in this format on both MultiChoice's DStv and Telkom's streaming service TelkomOne with Openview joining pair as the only providers to not only house these channels in HD but also operate their 19 radio stations.

Seeing that SABC failed to launch their two entertainment channels to Openview in 2021. They'll likely provide an update later in the year perhaps even sooner than expected.

As mentioned on this site last year, SABC Encore and Children could be the two channels Openview customers have been longing for while SABC Parliament is a side dish probably for another platform.

These names were spotted on LyngSat I mean whatever is there isn't taken for granted and there's no way they could have thought of these names without any input from the SABC.

SABC Children and Parliament was part of the public broadcaster's DTT plans for 2012 which fell flat and Parliament was resubmitted 4 years ago while SABC had mentioned in an interview that they have considered reviving the controversial SABC Encore.

Reasons why these two could be for Openview and not Parliament, the two entertainment channels launching soon will house archived material and again perfect fit for those two possible entertainment channels.

Unlike Parliament, SABC Children wasn't part of SABC's DTT plans for 2018 making it a liability so the only reason such channel would be conceived by them was if they'd get something out of it. SABC 3 despite being the least watched between the three SABC channels still brings in the dough.

Regardless, the two upcoming channels are launching on a nonexclusive basis meaning any other platform such as DStv and StarSat even TelkomOne can package part if not all these channels.

Simply Maria, Love And Cruelty And Dumb Girls Or Bimbos Don't Go To Heaven Coming Soon To TLNovelas Africa

TLNovelas is currently one of four pop-up channels MultiChoice chose to keep onboard and since then the brand had undergone several changes during the last year which including a marathon sized and repeat padded lineup.

Good news for fans, the channel will be introducing three new titles: Simply Maria (Simplemente Maria) is definitely coming the other two were listed in Portuguese but will likely join as well Las Tontas No Van Al Cielo (Dumb Girls Don't Go To Heaven/Bimbos Don't Go To Heaven) and Mundo De Fieras (Love And Cruelty).

Based on the Mexican telenovela of the same name, Simply Maria follows a young and naïve woman who fled her hometown after being harassed by a man. She arrives to Mexico City where she dazzles a man with her beauty and eventually conceives an infant left without a father. Our brave hero choses to move forward with her life and become a fashion designer.

The series features Claudia Álvarez, José Ron, Ferdinando Valencia, Arleth Terán, Ana Martin, Eleazar Gómez and Alejandra Robles Gil.

Based on the Venezuelan telenovela of the same name, Love And Cruelty tells the story of Gabriel and Demián are identical twins but very different. Gabriel grew up in the high society while his brother grew up in poverty which caused him to have a grudge against Gabriel and wants to destroy him. One day a young humble named Mariángela comes to the mansion to teach Luisito, and Gabriel falls in love with her.

The series features an A list cast including Edith Gonzalez, César Évoraz, Ernesto Laguardia, Gaby Espino, Helena Rojo, Azela Robinson, Laura Flores, René Casados, Sebastián Rulli, Sara Maldonado and Michelle Vieth.

Bimbos Or Dumb Girls Don't Go To Heaven (still awaiting confirmation) follows Cándida "Candy" Morales Alcalde is a beautiful young girl filled with dreams and hopes for her future. At her 15th birthday party she meets the man of her dreams. On the day of their wedding, Candy finds out that Patricio cheated on her with her sister, Alicia. Angry and hurt, she leaves him and goes to Guadalajara with her uncle, Manuel. She decides to fake her death to her family and Patricio to start a new life.

Jacqueline Bracamontes, Jaime Camil and Valentino Lanús starred as protagonists, while Karla Álvarez, Fabiola Campomanes and Sabine Moussier starred as antagonists.

THE SEARCH FOR FRIDA - continues at 9pm WAT/10pm CAT

Tuesday, 1 March, The authorities go to the scene of Frida's kidnapping to collect evidence, but ﬁnd that bleach has been used to erase it.

Wednesday, 2 March, Frida’s letter proves that Abelardo did not kidnap her, and he is released. He goes to visit Frida in the hospital. Cantú discovers some evidence.

Thursday, 3 March, Salvador has a crisis when he has to visit Frida. Later, he records himself confessing the truth. Antonio notices a drastic change in Diego.

Friday, 4 March, Cantú and Robles arrive at Salvador’s workshop with a search warrant. Salvador wants to ﬂee, but Rafaela advises against it.

Saturday, 5 March, Abelardo asks Sasha to keep an eye on Salvador. Diego lashes out at Ángel. Frida suﬀers from a brain haemorrhage and must undergo surgery.

Sunday, 6 March, Cabrera questions Salvador, who seems to have an answer for everything, including the cancellation of his trip to Athens.

Monday, 7 March, Cabrera continues to put pressure on Salvador, and takes one of his hairs to use as a DNA sample. Meanwhile, Abelardo confronts Rafaela.

Tuesday, 8 March, Frida's surgery doesn't go as expected, and as a result her case is impacted. A bloody screwdriver from Salvador's house is a key piece of evidence.

Wednesday, 9 March, Frida’s funeral takes place. Salvador is arrested, while Enrique questions Rafaela. She insists that her husband is innocent.

Thursday, 10 March, Salvador is questioned by Cabrera and the prosecutor. He eventually breaks down and makes a confession, but insists he didn’t kill Frida.

Friday, 11 March, Salvador goes to court to hear the charges against him. Meanwhile, Pedroza interrogates everyone in Salvador’s workshop. Enrique consoles Rafaela.

Saturday, 12 March, Marcela visits Salvador in prison, feeling she needs to see the eyes of the man who killed her daughter. Rafaela hires a lawyer for her husband.

Sunday, 13 March, The hearing continues. The prosecutor orders Salvador to undergo a polygraph test. Meanwhile, Gaby is evasive with Antonio.

Monday, 14 March, A former student of Salvador’s speaks up about the sexual abuse he subjected her to. Meanwhile, Cabrera gets an unexpected visit from Marcela.

Tuesday, 15 March, Marcela is alarmed by the drawings her daughter, Laura, produces. Meanwhile, Salvador suﬀers physical and psychological abuse in prison.

Wednesday, 16 March, Salvador’s lawyer considers transferring him to a maximum security prison. Martin and Marcela take Laura to a psychologist to analyse her drawings.

Thursday, 17 March, Prosecutor Zambrano interrogates Rafaela. Marcela believes that someone other than Salvador shot Frida. Antonio admits that he failed Gaby.

Friday, 18 March, Marcela takes the stand and testiﬁes at Salvador’s trial. The student who accused Salvador of sexual abuse retracts her statement.

Saturday, 19 March, Rafaela presses charges of police harassment. Salvador alleges that Cabrera beat and tortured him into making a false confession.

Sunday, 20 March, It is the day of the verdict. Rafaela admits to her children that she’s afraid of what may happen. Marcela talks to Amanda, the psychiatrist.

Monday, 21 March, Rafaela and Salvador consider leaving the country. Meanwhile, the Prosecutor’s Oﬃce is preparing another lawsuit against Salvador.

Tuesday, 22 March, Cantú and Cabrera investigate Rafaela’s ﬁnancial transactions. Abelardo tells Salvador that he will make his life a living hell.

Wednesday, 23 March, Rafaela is questioned by the police. Abelardo oﬀers Sasha a position as his executive assistant. Tomás wants answers from his parents.

Thursday, 24 March, The police come to the conclusion that Rafaela was involved in Frida’s death. Sasha turns down Abelardo’s job oﬀer.

Friday, 25 March, Rafaela goes to a river and disposes of all the evidence of her crimes. Meanwhile, Robles gives Abelardo a report of Salvador’s movements.

Saturday, 26 March, Rafaela goes to Sasha’s apartment and oﬀers her money in exchange for her silence. When Sasha refuses, Rafaela attacks her violently.

Sunday, 27 March, Cabrera ﬁnds a clue at the scene of Sasha’s murder, and contacts Marcela. Salvador questions Rafaela, and she denies everything.

Monday, 28 March, Robles aims a high-calibre weapon at Salvador and shoots. Meanwhile, Tomás shares information on his mother with Cabrera.

Tuesday, 29 March, Tomás can no longer bear the chaos in his family and goes to Diego for support. Ingrid is hospitalised. Salvador asks Cabrera why he saved his life.

Wednesday, 30 March, Now that the police have conclusive proof, Salvador considers turning himself in. Marcela has a dream in which Rafaela shoots Frida.

Thursday, 31 March, The prosecutor oﬀers to reduce Salvador’s sentence if he testiﬁes against his wife. Rafaela, believing Salvador betrayed her, plans her revenge.

Thursday, 3 March, Gloria presents evidence of Maria Clara breaking hospital regulations. Meanwhile, Elisa pressures Soﬁa to confess to having an abortion.

Friday, 4 March, Julieta makes a diﬃcult decision, while Álvaro does his best to ﬁnd medicine for her. Meanwhile, Maria Clara returns to the hospital.

Saturday, 5 March, Prajna gets some news from Dr McKenzie. Roman apologises to Valentina and tries to get closer to her. Maria Clara asks Carlos why he lied to her.

Sunday, 6 March, Nelly and Claudia listen as Sol reads Aura Maria’s book aloud. Román hires someone to help around the house so he can spend more time with the kids.

Monday, 7 March, Yesid promises Aura Maria that he will never hit her again - as long as she promises not to provoke him. At the bar, Sol opens up to Hector.

Tuesday, 8 March, Ignacio receives the news that he has lung cancer. Hector is jealous when Sol visits Prajna. Alvaro gives Hector some advice.

Wednesday, 9 March, Antonio worries about his future, while his wife just wants him to get better. Meanwhile, Carlos makes a confession to Maria Clara.

Thursday, 10 March, Alvaro obtains a security video that proves Jimmy has been stealing. Román begins getting rid of Maria Clara’s things, including her wedding dress.

Saturday, 12 March, Hector tries to cheer Rodrigo up, but his eﬀorts are unsuccessful. Meanwhile, Román demands full custody of his children.

Sunday, 13 March, Drunk, Roman returns the divorce papers in pieces to Maria Clara. Robert takes Gloria for a motorcycle ride, which makes Castro jealous.

Monday, 14 March, The police arrive at the hospital and Alirio ﬁres a few shots into the air. The patients all leave except for the governor’s son.

Tuesday, 15 March, David’s results come back: he has spinal tuberculosis and HIV. Maria Clara spends time with her children. Carlos makes a confession to his wife.

Wednesday, 16 March, Carlos tries to regain his wife’s trust before leaving Medellin. Meanwhile, Gloria tries to motivate Sol to enrol as a nursing student.

Thursday, 17 March, Manuel receives an interesting oﬀer from a politician who wants to be admitted to hospital so his trial may be postponed.

Friday, 18 March, Carlos is unhappy when Maritza meets with Castro again. Paula realises that Roman is cheating on her. Gloria undertakes an unpleasant job.

Saturday, 19 March, Paula is determined to ruin Roman’s plans to meet up with Gloria. Meanwhile, Antonia learns from Carlos that she has Crohn’s disease.

Sunday, 20 March, Antonia opens up to Esperanza, the psychologist, about Rodro’s violence and threats. Gloria punishes Roman for standing her up so many times.

Monday, 21 March, The police ﬁnally capture Rodro. Esperanza gets lots of visitors after she is the victim of an acid attack. Gloria and Castro drift further apart.

Tuesday, 22 March, Esteban passes out in the bathroom, and Carlos and Ernesto take him to the hospital. Alvaro and Arturo disagree over a patient’s diagnosis.

Wednesday, 23 March, When Veronica goes into cardiac arrest, Dr Arturo does nothing, so Alvaro takes charge to save the patient. Meanwhile, Sol tells Hector the truth.

Thursday, 24 March, Sol receives the application forms for the university, while Hector receives some disappointing news regarding his fertility.

Friday, 25 March, Maria Clara helps Ernesto with some documents, and he invites her to lunch to say thank you. Meanwhile, Castro confronts Gloria.

Saturday, 26 March, Carlos accompanies his friend, Julio Cesar, to a funeral, where something unexpected happens. Meanwhile, Samuel undergoes surgery.

Sunday, 27 March, Fabio believes that Gabriela’s episodes are a side eﬀect of a drug she is taking. Meanwhile, Samuel recovers from his surgery.

Monday, 28 March, Iñaki manages to prove that Castro’s diagnosis was correct: Joaquín is suﬀering from narcolepsy. Sol realises that Hector is spying on her.

Tuesday, 29 March, Román lies to Paula when she confronts him about two plane tickets she found in his jacket. Meanwhile, Carlos and Maritza get into a car accident.

Wednesday, 30 March, Following the car accident, Maritza undergoes surgery. Meanwhile, Felipe apologises to Álvaro. Román goes to see his children.

Thursday, 31 March, Sanabria reads Anita's erotic poetry. Carlos asks his father to respect his privacy. Hector talks to Sol about the results of his DNA tests.
