It's An Indie Extravaganza: Viewers Should Be On The Lookout For The Following Series On Zee World, Zee One, Star Life And eExtra + Possible New Channel For Openview

To think all this started when Zee Enterprises was working to expand their offering onto DStv only to tag StarSat and Openview for the ride with the launch of Zee One.

At the moment, India's content is overcrowding the linear space in Africa. It shouldn't pose much of a shock seeing that most International content is heading for streaming so these cable providers had to find the next big thing.

Good news for viewers would be that these stations bagged more content to keep their lineup occupied:

Zee World has Guddan (Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega, currently seen on Zee One) airs from 18 December, I Do! (Qubool Hai from eExtra), 7 Bridges To Cross (Satrangi Sasural), Imperfect (Hamari Bahu Silk) and the second season of Get Me Married (Maala Saasu Have).

The duplicate Zee World channel aka Zee One will soon air Fear Files, The Baker's Table and Grand Trunk Rasoi.

By the grace of the almighty, repeats won't be the only thing coming to Star Life. They have one new series on the way titled The Insolvent Heart (Phir Bhi Na Maane...Badtameez Dil).

Last but not least eExtra, following the premieres of Surrender In Love and The Heir which is currently seen on Zee One. The channel reportedly bagged rights to another Zee World repeat which is known other than Bullets And Bloods aka Begusarai.

Openview which serves as the birthplace of eExtra is planning something for the festive period according to some sources it could be a new channel eBranded channel and this comes after the SABC failed to launch their two additional channels.

Telemundo Africa Starts 2022 Off With A Reboot Of Where Is Elisa? Which Is Referred To As The Search For Frida

11 years ago, Telemundo did a remake of the Chilean telenovela Where Is Elisa? (¿Dónde está Elisa?) now the channel thought it would be wise to do another remake by changing the name of the lead to Frida.

The Search For Frida (Buscando A Frida), revolves around a family whose lives have been turned upside down when a family member goes missing around someone's birthday. The family discover hidden truths about each other as well as the lead.

The second remake stars Eduardo Santamarina, Ximena Herrera, and Arap Bethke.

For those who haven't seen Telemundo's first remake or the origin have a bask in the drama. Even though, the concept is nothing new all have managed to make some minor adjustments take for instance Love And Betrayal (Gavilanes) and A Passion For Revenge (Tierra De Reyes).

Both shows three male and female leads while one had their characters find their perfect match as AA, BB, CC the other had AA, BC, CB. The only thing that further distanced these shows were the climaxes.

Viewers have until 10 January at 22:00 which gives them plenty of time to decide if they'll kick this show to the curb or give it a chance who knows you might be able to find the variation with Where Is Elisa.

In other news, the festive season is upon us while families get together or do kind deeds. This news will ignite some flames, Christmas Miracles is coming back and what better way for viewers to spot the show then have it on Christmas Day.

Could Zee One Launch On MultiChoice's DStv Despite Zee World's Existence On The Platform? + Possible Launch Date For Zee Cinema And WION

In September, WION let the cat out of the bag by announcing their presence through the pay-tv giant in October only for it to be a no show thereafter MultiChoice tested out what appeared to be a Indian movie channel which was confirmed to be Zee Cinema.

Two months later, Zee Enterprises unveiled Zee One alongside 2 other channels for StarTimes and Openview but of course the latter coming to DStv weren't part of this ring of announcements.

It seems odd how Zee TV's presence was uttered for DStv and a month later a similar report surfaces but for customers on Openview and StarTimes. Is it possible Zee One has some involvement? Maybe its coming to DStv alongside the two other channels.

The idea seemed far fetched seeing that Zee One is a repeats channel for Zee World on top of that the content is very accessible across Africa but it's been proven on several occasions that none of it matters.

MultiChoice already supply a handful of rerun channels including Mzansi Wethu, kykNET Lekker, Me, Real Time, Novela Magic and Moja 9.9. and formerly BET2 and EVA+.

Zee One could launch like EVA+ which is tailored for certain customers while accessible to those who don't deem it as necessary or launch like kykNET Lekker where a certain number of customers can access the channel.

At the moment, there's no update on when Zee Cinema and WION will be made available to MultiChoice's DStv but the company is holding some presentation on November 11th where they'll likely mention details of the channels.

StarSat Adds C12 TV To Their Portfolio

Amidst the losses of several international premium channels including Fine Living, Discovery Family, Real Time and ID from Discovery Inc alongside FOX from The Walt Disney Company.

StarSat hasn't shown much effort in sourcing possible replacement channels as promised or better yet there hasn't been any memorable additions recorded this year.

C12 TV happens to be a progressive docu-tainment channel offering history, empowerment entertainment and lifestyle happens to be the first in a long while.

As usual StarSat doesn't provide much details on the content that will be seen on the channel. Based on what's stated about the channel, this could serve as a replacement for Smithsonian Channel.

Zee Enterprises recently unveiled a set of channels coming to StarTimes and other platforms with Zee One being the newest addition to the portfolio.

As Predicted, Boomerang's Days Are Numbered As Latin America Replaces Converts The Channel To Cartoonito, Could This Be The Future Of Boomerang In Africa?

Cartoonito launched in the United States later in September offering a wide range of animation such as Little Ellen, Lucas The Spider, Mush Mush And The Mushables and Thomas And Friends: All Engines Go.

Since the launch, there's been a lot of commotion over the brand's future internationally as Boomerang in some territories include preschool content in their family lineup and it looks like we finally got our answer.

In Latin America, it was announced that Boomerang would be replaced by Cartoonito from the 1st of December which seemed odd as the brand was originally scheduled for launch in 2022 now that changed.

Anyways the Boomerang channel in Latin America had been falling on troubled times those who've lived to tell the tale remember WarnerMedia's constant efforts to lure viewers. What started as an animated TCM grew to become another Disney Channel only for to align it with the rest of the world.

It seems likely that WarnerMedia in most markets will eventually follow Latin America in phasing out the brand. The idea of Cartoonito launching as a block on Boomerang seemed logical at the time now it looks like a waste of time.

As mentioned, Boomerang already incorporate preschool content to their lineup but its not divided like Cartoon Network in the United States. Why give night owls a chance to watch Masha if you're only going to take it away?

Trust me when I say Boomerang will be missed but it's presence will live on through Cartoon Network and Cartoonito.

Some territories WarnerMedia even have their own Nicktoons. In Latin America it's known as ToonCast while Africa and several regions refer to it as Boing perhaps some of Boomerang's content can make its way there.

After 4 Years, Universal Kids Rolls Out Internationally Through Asia As A Placeholder For Disney Channel, Could DStv Follow In The Pursuit? + Could A Rebrand Be On The Cards For The DreamWorks Channel?

NBCUniversal launched Universal Kids four years ago with content aimed at 2 to 11 year olds ranging from DreamWorks Animation, unscripted entertainment, live action shows and international programming.

Since launch, the channel has seen a significant decrease in viewership with IndieWire reporting a 30% decline in 2017, followed by a 73% drop in 2018. With the channel pulling roughly 36000 viewers as it slowly gains more viewers.

Just like Universal TV in the U.S.
Despite its poor viewership, Universal Kids was able to launch in Asia making it the first international market to have a Universal Kids on top of DreamWorks Channel where some of its content is seen.

Of course, it couldn't come at a better time seeing that The Walt Disney Company is closing 100 international channels by the end of 2021 as they opt to streaming.

DreamWorks Channel which has been seen as the international counterpart of Universal Kids (until now) has experienced immense growth in distribution with StarTimes being the only provider in Africa to supply the channel.

Seeing that Asia carries both brands, Is it possible the same could be done in Africa likely through MultiChoice's DStv?

MultiChoice offer several price plans for DStv with each have that pillar they leverage of from to get consumers to stick with that particular product.

In this case, Disney Channel was that pillar for certain consumers. So the logical thing to do would be to source out a brand that can carry similar traits such as Universal Kids or risk losing consumers.

Peacock Kids: The Future Of Universal Kids And DreamWorks Channel
NBCUniversal hosts a streaming service called Peacock which is where the name of the kids division, Peacock Kids derives from.

Peacock Kids was first spotted on YouTube when the brand took the spot of DreamWorks Channel with the page also including clips of live-action content.

NBCUniversal has 3 kids brands in total
1. Peacock Kids - for the streamers since 2020 leveraging from the other two
2. Universal Kids - exclusive to the U.S. until 2021
3. DreamWorks Channel - available outside the U.S. since 2015

Universal TV is still there despite its termination in the U.S. and Peacock's presence so maybe Universal Kids and DreamWorks Channel will continue or merge into one station regardless the American one is on autopilot.
