All The Rumors Are True: DreamWorks Channel Will Be Added Onto MultiChoice's DStv And Could More Channels From StarTimes End Up On The Platform?

DreamWorks Channel went off on the StarTimes and StarSat platforms across Africa leaving viewers baffled on where to view the content as not everyone has access to Netflix or Showmax to watch the best of DreamWorks library.

According to sources, the channel will soon be added to MultiChoice's DStv and this had been rumoured since last year as a list of potential or scrapped DStv channels had surfaced alongside another post directed particularly at DreamWorks Channel where it's listed as pending.

DreamWorks Channel being added onto the platform doesn't seem far fetched as MultiChoice already bundle several other channels from NBCUniversal including E!, Universal and the repeat padded Studio Universal with DreamWorks Channel following the same footsteps.

List of K-dramas and reality shows TVN will likely air if they return to DStv

As some are aware, the content seen on the channel can be viewable on other outlets heck even free-to-air broadcasters air the fresher batch of content even before the 24 hour channel. Just like TLNovelas, the content benefits a certain group of people.

The likelihood is that the channel will be added onto channel 304/312 a place once occupied by the boy focused brand Disney XD seeing that 313-319 are being used for educational content unless MultiChoice plans to sprouse the channel numbers.

On the basis of availability it wouldn't surprise me if it were to be made available to Premium, Compact+, Compact and possibly Family customers later in the following month. Won't be shocked if it came as a pop-up channel and potentially a permanent addition I mean the school holidays are around the corner.

StarSat/StarTimes moving to DStv

As seen last year, several channels from the platform have since went off air with a portion of them available to MultiChoice's DStv with more likely to get chopped. Is it possible some of these channels will end up on DStv?

StarTimes hasn't replaced any of the channels which have been removed and have been ignoring consumers in regards to that. It seems as if the brand stopped carrying about offering premium international channels.

Why else would they launch a couple of regional channels in some markets and dub Blood Sisters in Zulu?

Aurelio Casillas has risen from the grave for an eight instalment of Lord Of The Skies alongside a slate of new content for Telemundo

International Emmy award-winning El Señor de los Cielos ( Lord of the Skies ) will be back and with it, actor Rafael Amaya, who reprises his role of Aurelio Casillas for an eighth season.

Telemundo kicked off a virtual event detailing its production plans with the announcement of the return of one of its most popular super series today during the unveiling of the network's slate of original productions set to begin filming in 2022 and 2023.

El Conde (The Count – working titles,) starring renowned Mexican actor and longtime Televisa telenovela star Fernando Colunga; Todos los Nombres de Aura (Aura’s Many Names – working titles,) starring Blanca Soto; and Culpable o Inocente (Guilty or Innocent – working titles.)

Two new anthology series going into production are Cuando Habla una Mujer (When a Woman Speaks – working titles,) the first on-screen adaptation stemming from the recently acquired library of Corín Tellado, one of the best-selling Spanish-language romance writers; and El Doctor de los Milagros (The Miracle Doctor – working titles,) a compilation of faith-filled stories inspired on the beatified Venezuelan physician known for treating the poor.

The wait is almost over for these two series on Cartoon Network

Big Blue a Canadian based Kenyan inspired animated series that follows sibling adventurers Lettie and Lemo lead a quirky submarine crew to unravel the mysterious secrets of an underwater universe. Along with a magical fairy stowaway named Bacon Berry they must explore and protect their vast ocean-covered planet.

The show was first unveiled at a MultiChoice Showcase. According to sources, the series will air in March.

We Baby Bears has been the long overdue after WarnerMedia Africa unveiled the We Bare Bears spinoff on two separate occasions. Originally scheduled for November 2021 was pushed to 2022.

We Baby Bears features the baby bears on their search for a place they can settle down and fit into. Each episode transports them into vibrant and colourful worlds, where they befriend legions of familiar fairy-tale faces. During their ongoing crusade, they are faced with the decision to stay or continue their journey for a permanent abode they can call home.

According to editiadedimineata, the series is expected to air by the end of April.

Cartoonito Will Likely Return To EMEA By Mid 2022

In the month of love, Boomerang across Europe will be adding a dedicated preschool block Cartoonito with territories such as Asia expected to get it within the next 2 month while other parts of the region have it on Cartoon Network.

Of course, in these strings of announcements EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and CEE (Central Eastern Europe) are absent as both wait on WarnerMedia to update consumers over the potential launch of Cartoonito.

During this time, there's been a rumors part of which came from Kidscreen with the other Canal+ that Cartoonito will be launching as a linear channel to replace a brand like Boomerang I mean other parts of Europe have it as a block so the idea doesn't seem far fetched at this point.

February on Cartoon Network and Boomerang

Recently, Canal+ removed Cartoonito from their website and added Boomerang's logo as the change didn't happen as advertised. Either, they recieved the wrong info, date or based their suspicion on Latin America (again it wouldn't make sense to think such as Canal+ have several other channels to focus on so why waste energy on one brand).

According to a source, Cartoonito is not expected in CEE until at least April 30th and won't be available on weekends on Boomerang similar to EMEA's past carnation implying that Cartoon Network will likely fill up that position as seen in the UK and Latin America.

The date kind of checks out as my sources don't highlight the brand in the following month so Cartoonito might arrive in EMEA between May and June/July as the people incharge of these channels also operate in CEE and the UK.

Cartoonito has plenty of time to enter the market I mean there's only one original series as the rest of the content is licensed by other studios. The question would only boil down to the markets that are waiting alongside these regions for Cartoonito.

Is it possible Boomerang will air more of the content coming to Cartoonito as viewers wait I mean doing that would only make it easier to kill off the channel. It doesn't look like the brand will get anything aside from what's currently available.

Viewership Stats For 3-10 February: Zee One Dethroned Zee World And Star Life Continues To Clash With Glow TV

Zee World and Zee One are managed by the same people so it only seemed logical for something like this to happen. The only thing that kind of ties Star Life with Glow TV is the paint used for the channel's logos and poor offering.

Zee World viewership statics goes as follows:

Bollywood Movies - 1.0
Twist Of Fate (Rerun) - 1.4
King Of Hearts (Rerun) - 1.3
My Heart Knows - 2.1
These Streets - 1.4
I Do - 1.0
Twist Of Fate - 2.9
Once There Was A King - 2.0

Total: 9,4 million (excluding repeats and movies)

Notes:
- Became the second most watched channel in that period.
- Bollywood movies and I Do hit a tie and are both the least watched.
- None of Zee World's content has less than a million views making it the only brand to do so despite being a pay channel.
- Twist Of Fate is still adored by fans of the channel on primetime even with reruns.
- Zee World has the highest viewership for reruns (2.7 million).

- Doodsondes S4 coming soon to eExtra
Saloni and East Meets West coming soon to SABC 2
- Dokter Ali S2 coming in April on eExtra

Star Life viewership statics goes as follows:

Bollywood Movies - 0.5
Geet (Rerun) - 0.7
Illusion - 0.9
Dream Girl - 1.2
Happy Hearts - 1.1
Never Say Goodbye - 1.7

Total: 4,9 million (excluding reruns and movies)

Notes
- The brand with the least watched Bollywood films I mean it's justified as there's mostly reruns.
- Star Life is the only channel with content that struggles to attract 2 million views.
- Never Say Goodbye was the most watched show during this period and Geet remains in the gutters.

Zee One viewership statics goes as follows:

Dance India Dance - 1.0
Bollywood Movie - 2.6
Grand Trunk Rasoi - 0.2
The Baker's Table - 0.2
Snack Attack - 0.1
Guddan - 2.9
Reach For The Stars - 1.4
The Heir - 0.6
Lies Of The Heart - 4.2
My Golden Home - 0.6

Total: 9,7 million (excluding repeats, movies and variety shows)

Notes
- My Golden Home and The Heir tie this month
- Snack Attack is the least watched show on the channel.
- Lies Of The Heart was the most watched show in this period.
- Zee One has more content than any other channel on the list therefore increasing their viewership.
- The only brand to have provided variety shows
- Currently has the highest rated movie
- Became the most watched channel on the list thanks to Zee World's reruns so it's a win win either way.
- Has the most content with less than a million views.

Glow TV viewership statics goes as follows:

This Is Love (Rerun) - 1.0
A Touch Of Love - 0.6
Emperor Ashoka - 2.4
A Love To Die For - 2.3
True Love (Rerun) - 0.1

Total: 5,6 million (excluding repeats)

- The only station that couldn't provide the views for Bollywood films.
- The only station with the least amount of new shows.
- Remains as the least watched Indian channel.
- Unlike Star Life, the content can attract 2 million views.
- Emperor Ahsoka was the most watched show during that period.
- The channel has the lowest rated repeat on the list (This Is Love).

Available to DStv is Zee World and Star Life while StarSat and Openview have every other channel but Zee World.
