Timeless Dizi Channel Acquired Broadcasting Rights To Cesur Ve Güzel - Get To Learn More About eMedia's Kuiertyd Dramas

To start off 2022, SPI International thought it would be cool picking up Cesur Ve Güzel formerly seen on e.tv as Die Vreemdeling. Not saying it's bad thing as there's a handful of people who wish to view this content in English.

Cesur Alemdaroğlu (Kivanç Tatlituğ) comes back to Korludağ, a small town outside Istanbul with a mission to take revenge on Tahsin Korludağ (Tamer Levent). The only thing that he hadn't taken into account was that he would fall in love with Sühan Korludağ (Tuba Büyüküstün).

Ever since Timeless Dizi Channel ended its trial on DStv viewers had resorted to local stations. The sad part about this is accessibility as not a lot of markets are fortunate enough to view this content.

For those who choose to avoid eExtra's Turkish lineup due to language trust me when I say you're missing out. Although MultiChoice scrapped Dizi several content from the channel has since then been viewed on eExtra.

Kurt En Shura and Voëlvry are the star attractions alongside several that have been picked up by Dizi International but have not made their way to the African counterpart include Ufak Tefek Cinayetler (Stilleto Vendetta), Içerde (Vierspel Vuurspel), Kara Para Ask (Black Money Love) and now Cesur Ve Güzel (Die Vreemdeling).

If you take all this into account both brands have become predictable at this point. Expect an exchange between programming and for the one to offer programming that has yet to make its way to the other brand.

Crossover: eMedia Investments Possibly Teasing The Linear Debut Of Is'phindiselo And Upcoming Developments Regarding Primetime Offering On e.tv

eMedia Investments conjures up a local Monte Cristo

Following the epic conclusion to Is'phindiselo, eMedia Investments has started releasing trailers and glimpse of the series to their channels as viewers wait on the second season.

Is'phindiselo is a riveting one-hour drama, loosely based on the story of "The Count Of Monte Cristo", the novel by French author Alexandre Dumas. It tells the story of a young man, falsely imprisoned by his jealous "friend" who escapes and uses a hidden treasure to exact his revenge.

The first season is currently available on eVOD. According to them, viewers needed to wait a year before viewing any of the upcoming content for the platform but that wasn't the case.

The Turkish offering on eVOD didn't take that long to arrive on eExtra so it wouldn't be shocking if the same were to be done with their local offering.

Is'phindiselo has a strong chance of landing on e.tv as there's more viewers on that station than any other brand on the eMedia stable and also the fact that the brand has been viewed as their Mzansi Magic with kykNET being on eExtra.

Primetime is back on e.tv with a few hitches

As the new year approaches bits of e.tv's primetime go back to normal with some minor schedule adjustments on the cards for those viewing the channel.

As already mentioned, Magnum Pi returns to e.tv for a second season from 3 January and also The Blacklist is back from production break on Tuesdays at 22:00.

New Series Alert: LA's Finest
Yep, you read correctly the Bad Boys spinoff makes its debut on the channel. Sydney Burnett, an LAPD detective, gets paired with a new partner, Nancy McKenna. Although their personalities do not match, they always put forth their best efforts to take down criminals. Starting 10 January at 22:00.

Additional info:
- Droomvelore airs on e.tv from 10 January
- As Die Skoen Pas takes Days Of Our Lives's repeat slot at 8:30 with repeats now available on eExtra at 8:00.
- Vierspel Vuurspel replaces Begeertes on e.tv from 10 January.
- New episodes Judge Judy and Days Of Our Lives continues.

Back to Is'phindiselo, seeing that it's not yet added to the lineup. It's possible that the show will either be added after The Blacklist or come as soon as there's an update on the second season.

Channel Roundups For 2022 On Openview And DStv Including Pop-Up Channels

Openview:

Last year, SABC failed to fill their end of the bargain with eMedia Investments when they promised to unveil the other two channels coming to the Openview platform.

SABC Education and SABC News are obviously not part of this deal as one would have joined the 19 radio stations and SABC Sport while the other is managed by MultiChoice.

SABC has registered 3 new channels from their DTT plans of which 2 will are likely for Openview:

SABC Encore - a repeats channel catering towards viewers who grew out of SABC 1-3.

SABC Children - a multilingual children's channel targeting children aged 2-12 years.

SABC Parliament - a channel that deals with politics and other issues in the country.

Possible terminations include France24, News and Sport, DBE TV or Mindset and Star Life.

MultiChoice:

MultiChoice has hit a dry spell in the international offering so they shifted focus towards local content. Last year saw the launches of HONEY and Maisha Magic Movies. This year welcomes the following:

Maningue Magic - a Mozambican version of Mzansi Magic with original content likely in Portuguese ranging from movies to series and reality shows.

Kwenda Magic - an Angolan entertainment channel featuring comedy shows and dubbed telenovelas. It might replace the long forgotten Jango Magic.

Pop-up channels - Big Brother Mzansi (23 January), M-Net Movies Man Of Action (21 January - 6 February 2022), Big Brother Naija, Housemates Liberia, Idols SA, Afrocinema (rumoured) and if possible Ultimate Love.

Kids channels open to Access, Family and Compact customers. 27 December to 9 January.

Other possible additions include an Untitled Discovery Channel, AYVTV, Maisha Magic Plus, One Zed TV, G4, Cartoonito, Zee One, Untitled entertainment and kids channel, tvN and Dizi. Possible terminations include Lifetime, Discovery Family, Boomerang, Travel Channel and Star Life.

Prediction: TLNovelas Gets A Name Change Amidst The Merger Between Univision And The Parent Company Televisa + Batch Of Programming Coming To Telemundo Africa And More Zee World Channels

Is the TLNovelas brand name done for?

Last year, it was reported Televisa and Univision would merge to form a new company Televisa-Univision. This merger would see their properties consolidate under one hub.

Televisa-Univision offer linear channels with some markets housing both brands separately while others package one of two. The question dives down to the fate to the linear offering globally.

Before the merger, Univision offered a customised station for Televisa soaps known as Univision TLNovelas. Now that they'll be a single entity perhaps this brand could become a reruns channel with further content moving to Univision while others house the branding.

Univision TLNovelas or vice versa makes a suitable name as the company couldn't think of a much better name than TLNovelas Univision. To be honest, I'd much rather have them use Prende TV as the name for their linear channels.

Keep feeling the passion with Telemundo

Telemundo continues its tough journey ahead following the switch to 7 days a week. The brand has been sourcing out content that not only entertains viewers but keeps their schedule occupied.

In 2022, the channel might welcome originals like Buscando A Frida (The Search For Frida), Parientes A La Fuerza (Family By Force), Pasión de Gavilanes (Hidden Passions) and Preso No. 1 (Prisoner No. 1) alongside new seasons of Operation Pacific and Queen Of The South.

Acquired series include Café Con Aroma De Mujer (Coffee With A Woman's Fragrance/Scent Of Passion) and Enfermeras (Nurses).

REPEEEEEEEATS!!!

As seen last year, we got more repeats than new shows but Telemundo doesn't let that dominate their schedule. Possible returns for the channel include Broken Angel, Almost Yours, The Son I Never Knew, Elena's Ghost, On The Other Side Of The Wall and Price Of Fame.

Super series likely to make a comeback include Prisoners Of Love, Lord Of The Skies and El Baron.

365 days a year and 7 days a week

Since its inception, Zee World has grown to be a trailblazer with their Bollywood offering. It's success further boasted the portfolio with the launches of Zee Alem and the knockoff Zee One.

Several years back, the parent company of these channels expressed ideas of launching regional channels as seen with Zee Alem and not long ago they expanded their offering in Africa.

Zee Alem caters for Ethiopians and seeing that Africa is a diverse market perhaps we could see more of this in Portuguese, French, Zulu and Swahili speaking markets.

While MultiChoice Portuguese section remains as an Iceland. Indian subscribers got WION and Zee Cinema perhaps we could even see channels like Zing or Zee One make their way to the platform.
